Oh. Crap .If you don't like the "dungeon (and raid/primal) grind", you won't like FFXIV more today. It's 100% just that, with some ERP on the side.
I really disliked the corridor design and the samey encounter design (it's worse now with the unified UI mechanics; much more readable and streamlined, but it also feels quite copy/pasted when you always have the same symbol for "pack up on this character" and such in many fights), and they definitely didn't change anything. Arguably it's even more claustrophobic nowadays, with dungeons being shorter and more linear in general, and raids being nothing more than an arena disconnected from everything else in the game.
It's very much a hub grinder. Not unlike other WoW clones, mind you.
She's a treasure .So, outside of my better judgement, some old friends and guildmates have convinced me to play Classic WoW. I haven't enjoyed WoW since Wrath, and I genuinely enjoyed vanilla, so apart of me is really excited. The main issue is I'm much older and I have two young children, and I know the time investment needed for vanilla. I talked to the wife about it and she said I should play it since she knows how much I loved the original game. Wish me luck!
I've not informed myself on anything in regards to WoW Classic (or WoW in general), I don't care enough. A short nostalgia trip is enough for me and I'm not planning to play this again. Been there done that, it was fun for as long as it lastet. WoW Classic has its merits, but it is also cumbersome af. A strange thing to say, because it was way more accessible than EQ2 or Star Wars Galaxies... (the only two other MMOs I really played), I miss SWG...I am not going to touch this, but hearing how Blizzard handles the servers is a bit weird.
No German RP server?
I think Blizzard by now really know what the hell the metrics are and what the expectations for a launch should be. I wonder if these queues are due to them knowing the launch bubble is going to deflate in a few days and thus is less bad of an option than having to merge servers, or if there is a fuck-up in there somewhere.Haven't played WoW since Cataclysm came out, wanted to take a peak at the classic server... Nostalgia 'n stuff:
Literally wow
The only german PvE Server, 12:30, launch day.
That's exactly how long it takes for a paladin to kill one single mob.
If you like PvP end game then yes. Keep in mind that the game is very P2W.Is Black Desert worth it? Currently the Russian version is selling for peanuts.
Nah, I'm more of a (hated) solo types, PvP ain't my thing at all.If you like PvP end game then yes. Keep in mind that the game is very P2W.
Uh, depends on where you stand on Korean MMO aestheticYeah if it's about the graphic then BDO is pretty much the winner compared to popular MMOs like WoW, FFXIV, GW2, ESO.
Yeah, it gets kinda bad at endgame, but it'll take a while to get there because leveling itself is grindy.Nah, I'm more of a (hated) solo types, PvP ain't my thing at all.
Yes, and guess what, transmog is not a thing in Classic (yet?).I had a look at an online WOW Character Designer over the weekend and bleh, fugleeeeeee!
I don't know if it's cut down compared to the real one but i could not make a character that didn't look horrendous or generic. I take it Armour Transmog is the main cosmetic people use to make themselves look different to other people?
Welp, I guess I'll buy it, it's only 50 cents anyway,But I think BDO is very solo friendly. It's a cool game if you like to explore the world squashing monsters.
After Bless, I'm not gonna jump into a new B2P Korean MMO immediately at launch. I've watched some beta impressions and it seems like the game is lacking in content. And because it's not on Steam, it's kinda pricey too.Anyone have plan on playing Astellia - Classical MMORPG. ?
I don't play ArcheAge but all my friends who played that game left with bad aftertaste. After Bless, I'm not gonna jump into a new B2P Korean MMO immediately at launch. Honestly, I'd be more comfortable buying the B2P version of ArcheAge.
Launch Queues - The true WOW Classic End Game!
ArcheAge is a truly unique MMORPG that actually tried something different. It's a full blown sandbox game with heavy emphasize on trading and open world pvp. I magine your friends were disappointed mainly because of the monetizations and restrictions of non premium players. But there's a gem hidden behind those things in ArcheAge, and the upcoming B2P version tries to reintroduce them to people.I don't play ArcheAge but all my friends who played that game left with bad aftertaste.

An old friend of mine who I haven't seen in probably 8+ years messaged me out of the blue on Facebook yesterday saying nothing except for "Wooooooow classic!" (we played WoW together) I told him I was going to download it when I got home, but I'm not going to... I know I'll play it for an hour or two and then lose interest.
I would need to queue remotely from work in order to play before I went to bed.Dandy You don't want to voice-chat with an old acquaintance while you queue to get DC'd? Meanie!
Also...
A super-popular MMO dangling a Nostalgia Magnet in front of lapsed and current players is having capacity management issues?! I'm Shocked!
... but we're going to laugh it up for the memes anyway!
This is what I am doing today.I would need to queue remotely from work in order to play before I went to bed.
Same. Haven't been able to play after work the past 2 days, but I made sure i had remote desktop set up before heading out this morning. This is what I am doing today.
Huh, interesting. I somehow forgot that the Nier crossover is already confirmed from back then.
