|OT| This is the Anime Thread, Darling~~

I caught up. It's a blast to watch. I mean so far I've only been watching Jujutsu, so saying this is one of my favs this season right now is technically not a high bar, but still.

The only thing I dislike is that I don't like the opening song :(
Also those "pop-up" scene changes straight outta Danganronpa are the best.

Now to decide on which thing I'll give a shot next :thinking-face:
To be fair, both of these series are incredibly heavy-hitters. I don't know that I'm watching anything else besides The journey of Elaina.

Tbh, I am probably the minority here but I don't like Jujutsu's anime. Pacing and the cuts between each scene feels off (En'en no Shōbōtai also has similar feels). Already dropped it.

To me, Dai's Adventure is the best anime this season. Everything is good, from story to fight scenes to voice acting.

BTW, have you watch Munou no Nana? Don't read synopsis, watch any review, clips or spoiler or simply has any expectation. Go watch episode 1 to see if you like it.

That one's on my list, but I haven't watched it yet! I think I'll just wait for a couple more episodes until I give it a try.

Started something old from my list instead, Angelic Layer. Heard good things, and so far (3 episodes in) it's a lot of fun.
I'm a fan of proxy battles, be they card fights, robots, summons, battle dolls or anything else.
Surprisingly good action animation and choreography too.

I started watching Ascendance of a Bookworm - it's a lot of fun.

Basically Isekai where I booklover gets isekaied into a fantasy world. She only wants to read books, but in this world the literacy rate is low and books are scarce. So what's she gonna do? Make them on her own to become a librarian again.

It's a really good one, though it leans heavily on the typical Japanese anime values : work hard, people's worth is their work, etc :p.

Jujutsu Kaisen is that good shit.

Already finished season 1 of Bookworm and am 4 episodes into season 2
Needless to say, I've been really enjoying it!

Yeah the ED is ACE
The 4 main cast are great and Nobara is prob. my fav. character.
The adaption has absolutely nailed it so far. I'm very much looking forward to the rest - it's going to be great :)

I just fell into Assassination Classroom and this had no right to be as good as this.

Caught up to the latest ep. of Kaisen
Dickbutt

Lost in Paradise slaps :wd_praise:

Jim_Cacher I watched the first episode of Talentless Nana.
Yo WHAT.
WHAT.
No really, WHAT.
I did not expect that at all :sweaty-blob:
Extremely intrigued.

Also music from Takanashi (Fairy Tail, Heartcatch Precure,....)! :blob_hype:

Attack on Titan Season 4 starts in under 2 hours!!

I am EXCITED

First episode was great!! Although the amount of 3D tech shown is a bit of a cause for worry...

Also got done watching Made in Abyss while i was waiting for the site to revive and wow.
Well.
Yeesh.
Mitty :(

I know, right? It's a good start.

I wouldn't say the show is very good (have some bullshit moments), but it is a pretty fun show.

1. I should watch Akudama Drive once I'm done with my current college work/before exams
2. I catch up to Jujutsu Kaisen in january no spoilers please :surrenderblob:
3. BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Akudama Drive ended on a bit of a whimper to be honest.
It's finished and i have no idea what the story now really was or what the show was trying to tell me

Just got around to finishing Akudama Drive. That finale was amazing spectacle, and while kind of downer overall it just seems to fit the series perfectly.
Swindler accepting that she's not an ordinary citizen anymore, getting her Akudama titlecard only to swindle the people by claiming to be an ordinary citizen and getting killed on camera, causing the uprising to ignite once more was just amazing.
And Courier using his mechanical hand for the broken railgun is just peak anime bullshit, so good.

I've been reading the episode reviews on ANN as I went along, and while I can't say whether the writer is reading into things or if it was all intended to be read like that, I like this interpretation.

So with 2020 over, what were your favorite shows?

I didn't really watch much this year, so my list is pretty short, but here it is:

1) Re:Zero Season 2

2) Dorohedoro

3) BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.

5) DECA-DENCE

7) Akudama Drive

8) Jujutsu Kaisen

Outside of Re:Zero and Dorohedoro being number 1 and 2 there isn't really that much of a meaning to the order, I've enjoyed all of these a lot and consider them well worth watching.

Finally a new Jujutsu Kaisen episode again, and with a new Opening and Ending.

Really digging the new Opening, both the song and visuals.

Ending is a downgrade though, rip Lost in Paradise :/

Jujutsu Kaisen still ongoing

Re:Zero Season 2 Part 2 (obvious)
Slime Isekai Season 2 (really enjoyed season 1)
So I'm a Spider, So What? (really like what I've read from the novel)
BACK ARROW (Goro Taniguchi show with mechs, that's a no-brainer to at least give a try - he did Code Geass, ID-0, Active Raid, etc)

I haven't actually checked out any of the shows from this season yet, but these are the ones I definitely want to give a try.
