Its funny because some labels are staying exclusive to their schtick precisely to avoid ending up and / or becoming part of corporations

Totalitarism gets you nowhere
I don't think I'm following what you're saying.

Could you elaborate on why this version is the best? What's wrong with the PS4 port?
EDIT: Oh wait, Muramasa is stuck on Wii/Vita, I think I was thinking about Odin Sphere...
In regards to Odin Sphere I have it both for PS4 and Vita and I like the Vita version more. The only "pro" that I saw in the PS4 version is higher fps and high resolution. It runs great on the Vita. there is only really one area that has issues and thats' the sewer area in the castle. The reason that I like the Vita version more is because of the UI, at least from what I recall I think that there is a difference in what buttons you press to bring up potions and stuff like that on Vita, and that was the big difference that I saw between the two.

why licensing issues? or it's just extremely niche?
I'm not sure about the licensing but niche as hell and it's a long VN, also JAST apparently localizes text-heavy-stuff at a loss, so this would be another loss.
JAST was localizing it at some point but they're EXTREMELY slow and the long story short the project has never been completed/finished being localized, They used to have first dibs on nitro+ games so if it ever came from someone it would be JAST USA, but it's been canceled.

To give you an idea Trails in the Sky FC is 1.5 million charcters, Trails in the Sky SC is 1.6 millions characters.
Da Capo 3, a visual novel published and translated by mangagamer over 2.5 years, is 2 millions characters dwarfing TiTS FC and SC, the equivalent to the first three volumes of A Song of Ice and Fire.
Souko Akki Muramasa is longer than DC3 with use of vertical text and was 3-4 years in translation when it got canned.

edit: a link which talks about the woes of localizing DC3 on MG blog (SFW)

imagine that but worse for Muramasa

I got the platinum, ya it was very repetitive but the story was nice though. Speaking of I liked the game a lot that not only did I double dip (I also have the CE for PS4) but I also got some Odin Sphere figures... Sadly I didn't get the one of Gwendolyn where she is in here hime-sama attire.

A reminder that Trails of Cold Steel III was 1.1 million English words to translate.

Localization of RPGs/VNs is soul-crushing work.
quite literally, quoting Kouryuu

I started to snap and fray. I would wake up almost every day depressed, constantly asking myself, “Why am I getting out of bed? Why am I doing this?”

The more games on PC (or everywhere to be honest) the better I feel. Modding alone would be incredible for something like Breath of the Wild if it ever appeared on PC.
Well it's already a thing with emulation.
Also, exclusivity only favors corporations. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Correct. You need to read first party thread though to read some hot takes from corporate bootlickers.

That's because it's Falcom. Not a lot of JRPG has that many words.

Will Bandai ever Stream stuff on Steam I wonder. Bandai seems to like using Steam but when it comes to using some of Steams stuff they don't really make much use of it.

As an example right now on Steam Capcom is showing the Capcom cUP thing, and even made some Steam announcement post about it.

Also earlier today Ubisoft was broadcasting the US armed forced R6S match.

Yep, I knew about the modding with the emulated Wii U version. Though imagine an actual PC version that allowed modders to dig into all of the files, adding and changing things to their heart's content.

Well, with the way that things have been heading lately with Denuvo and WinStore, emulation might unironically be easier to mod than actual PC games soon...

Well Denuvo doesn't really have anything to do with modding. Denuvo only has effect on the game executable files. Modding never touch executable files, only game data files.

By the way this is what I have been using for the last 5 years

Amazon product
for about $30USD they lasted me a while.

oh and I was planning on maybe getting a new drive (yet again) but I decided that instead of getting a 2TB WB Black for about $120USD that I am going to get a 2TB Samsung 860 QVO for about $50USD more.

Seeing how the Amazon link is not showing up I have been using the Cooler Master Devastator 3 Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Comb.

Well I got the Logitech keyboard, mouse and mousepad. I hope they are worth the money.

Oh and I went tactile since I do a bit of typing on online forums and stuff

oh and a lot of the people that got DQB2 seem to like the game.

double post?

Yeah, the G502 isn't for me. I'm finding that I'm misclicking far too often. That DPI Shift button is also in a terrible spot. I just need to repair my old mouse.

G502 has been my mouse for a few years now. Very underwhelmed by the product. It makes a super cheap clicking sound, like a spring.
For something so pricey, relatively, frankly, I lost some goodwill toward Logitech.

I don't view it that way. I want to play a game, I will buy it and play it, that's it.

My hobby is just software, the 3 boxes under my TV (Switch, PS4P, XboneX) are just a bunch of plastic boxes where I play my software.

And what happens if my Vita dies? Well, then Im fucked and have to say goodbye to many games because they are stuck there. My dead Vita isn't something most people wanna trade, I bet.
Its the software stupid. (srry mr blow job clinton)

This is why PC gaming, despite my abandonment of the high end, will always be the best platform. Get the software running on a pc and you've got options with a captial O. A vita emulator that works on a future GPD win? Bam, that vita software is alive again and yes sir it is portable as intended. A PS3 PSN game gets removed but an emulator comes out and someone has the abandoned game for you to download? That's game preservation with a P.

I cheer the ports of Heavy Rain to PC after long years and RDRII. Get it on the PC and the greater PC gaming community will make sure that by hook or crook that game is there to stay. My PS3 is one of my prized possessions, no doubt, but I'm rooting for a PS3 emulators to preserve the software. Consoles are great and when done right they develop a unique character through software but to let software die with plastic boxes sucks.

I like exclusivity when it enables the creation of software but I cheer BC on consoles, good ports and emulation so software isn't lost.

Edit: Speaking of mice; my Razer Deathadder 3.5G is... 8 fucking years old. It still works lol. Razer may have fucked me on their Sabertooth controller but their mice are on point.

The front G2/G3 buttons I had issues with misclicking. Which is the DPI switch button again?

Also, I forgot Sekiro existed until it showed up at the Keighley's
You may have forgotten but the Steam community has not, if the game does not end up showing up in any category for the Steam Awards things I will be surprised. Also it didn't take very long for Activision to update the banner to say GOTY award at the Game Award Show.

I am curious as to why devs/publishers are doing that now, I would imagine that they can not do that on other stores and ate typically only able to do it for boxed retail copies of games.

I mean the Ryza game and Code Vein both have banners talking about review scores.

The sniper button. I'm just going to have to turn that off completely, because I keep hitting it when I'm trying to shoot someone.

Mmh, kinda wanted to try reading some VN I bought years ago. Figured it would be easier to redownload the whole thing rather than do archeological digs in my unplugged HDs.
...
These motherfuckers send me a metric ton of uninteresting porn newsletters, I have a lastpass entry for them, but somehow I have no account with them.

But Sekiro is anime.

The sniper button. I'm just going to have to turn that off completely, because I keep hitting it when I'm trying to shoot someone.
Interesting my issue was that I could not even reach the button that easily and if I wanted to use the button I would have to move my hand in a position that I was not use to. Normally my hand is my relaxed and "leans back" but in order to get to the snip button I basically have to "hunch forward" my hand to reach the button and even then I can't get a good hold of the button.

It would seem that low profile mice work best for me and some of that might be due to how I sort of sit far away from my PC. I sit laid back in my chair and don't sit all attentively next to my PC like I think most people do?

Edit: Speaking of mice; my Razer Deathadder 3.5G is... 8 fucking years old. It still works lol. Razer may have fucked me on their Sabertooth controller but their mice are on point.
Didn't they have an issue with one of their more recent mice and it not being that popular. I recall seeing this one Logitech fan picture making fun of Razer since it didn't seem like anyone wanted to buy that mouse (the store that they were at was filled with rows of the things.

I should really play through Sekiro again. I'm not one to try for every achievement in a game but that was one of the few this year that got its hooks in me enough that I had to. Such a good time.

Might give RE2 one more go as well given that it's between those two for my GOTY. Wouldn't hurt to get a refresher for both. :)

Its possible. I can only recommend what I have, which is now officially some old school stuff.

Then again "Logitech fan" sounds lame though. I mean yes, my keyboard is logitech K840, I have a logitech F310 controller and back in 07-10 I had a logitech dual action which was sick but to be a fan of peripheral corp... Idk.

Just ordered a Samsung Odyssey + so I'll be ready for Half Life Alyx. I'll have to pick up some VR games during the holiday sale to get ready.
Don't forget to visit the VR thread and if you need some recommendations, totally ask for them, no worries.

Have fun and enjoy the virtual world B)

On other forums I really don't care, since it's par for the course... but here, every time two members engage in a "tense" debate (even if it's perfectly benign), I always cringe and I'm like:

Probably because to me MC is the last bastion of sanity on the internet.

More of you should get DQB2 on Steam. The port really is pretty good, limited graphics settings aside. Having full KB/M support in menus shouldn't be something that's special for a port, but it's great to see it here nonetheless. Fantastic Steam Input support in general, too.
I'm getting it next week alongside a few more japanese games such as NNK1 and SD Gundam. I'm waiting for the steam sale not because this games will get a discount but because this will also help me with the badge.

It's strange how I get so stressed with linear games, started playing Hellblade and I'm twiching in my chair constantly wanting to quit it eventhough I'm super into it.XD Will probably just play it in 30min-1h chunks.
whatever it takes - just make sure to play through the entire thing - it's really really good
