Seems to be still going on. You need to reply a captcha bot, and react to a post in #swear-allegiance. After that you'll see #lootboxI'm unable to see that channel.

I know that this game has been out for a while.(I think i recall before it was mostly positive) I recall that they revamped the game and just thought the revamp might be why it has a low score.

I really can't get the hang of discord.
I click on the link, I click to accept the invite, and... nothing happens.
I don't see that discord channel on the left side of the page, nor am I at the channel.
What am I missing?
EDIT: Well, this is embarrassing. It seems I own the game already.
So, never mind.
But, I really can't get the hang of Discord.
I know it's very popular, but I find it a mess to navigate, and do anything, at least on a desktop.

You probably had DMs from server users disabled and the bot couldn't contact you to verify the captcha

Epic about to announce some huge exclusives.
But it would most likely be the unreal engine and tech demo or game showcase.
Internally the game itself only goes up to 30 (technically 29.91), retroarch and the beetle core are running at a higher rate.
"Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies" as stand-by music for a gaming announcement is ironically appropriate.
It's like another Tomb Raider game, and it's not really that impressive for next-gen.
Looking forward to the type of graphics that tech demo showcased in a game in 2023 on a RTX 5080 and Ryzen 6000.
Thanks for linking! From what I gather, we can thank SSDs becoming the standard. I'm still not sure how happy graphics cards are with pixel-sized triangles. Last I recall, this was one of tesselation's big no-nos because it wasted so much processing power.
This still scares me in terms of the fidelity expected of this next gen. They achieved this kind of density thanks to photogrammetry but I don't know that this is doable at a AAA game's scale. As neat as the triangle decimation is, I also don't think this comes for free in terms of iops and CPU. I hate to say it but it sounds a little superfluous, but then again maybe there are notable gains in terms of process efficiency for a studio that I'm not seeing.
I'm still glad that we are finally taking advantage of SSDs' throughput. I'm also glad to see Epic embracing a little more of the "real time, all of the time" mentality. This is a notable departure from the previous engine's design.
All in all, this is pretty neat but I'm not sure how Epic announcing a new version of their engine - which I don't feel is as groundbreaking as the jump from 3 to 4 - concerns the industry at large unless you think Epic is the center of the universe. Was this the news we were expecting?

Honestly, I'm impressed. It probably won't result in more interesting games, but if it does then that would be great.

so like most tech demos
what little I heard from Geoff Keighly's show, Tim said they are trying to make this engine as accessible as possible
yeah it's nice.
It's not that the tech demo isn't impressive but it feels more like the logical next step for the engine instead of the huge leap that 4 was.
