Sadly, I haven't.

This is one of those games that decided to lock content to Kickstarter backers (there's an "extended" version for backers that paid £40, with uncensored and added content, and the "normal" version for everyone else), and as such as simply bought something else. ;)

Armada 1 seem to be generally strongly disliked and the common advice is to skip directly to 2.
Personnally, I simply hated what little I played of it and this was a super quick uninstall. Now I have had bad several bad strategy games experiences recently (Endless Legend, Total Warhammer 1, Armada 1) so my input is of a very relative worth.

So Armada was incredibly difficult right at the start, with nowhere near the amount of training wheel missions needed to ease you in. It's complex, or more appropriately a little dense, as there are several micro management options on each ship, each with long tooltips. You can't pause the game, which is sorely needed imho, but just slow time down. And paradoxically, I know I just complained about too much speed, the ships are slow as all the ever living fuck. Which, considering the rigs, is not illogical, but super annoying.

I've played the first few minutes of the demo on GOG, I'll play more a bit later today, but I'm pretty much already convinced.

I'll also try the System Shock demo and Desperados 3 (even if I certainly won't buy the latter until it gets discounted).

The game is now 11 years old and while it runs very well on a modern OS/System UI scaling is a bit of a problem in higher resolution.
For content in the pack: A lot of stuff in there seems to be for the "Last Stand" Multiplayer mode. It's a PvE arena survival mode for 4 players and the DLC adds various heroes for players to choose. It was very popular for a couple of years. If you want to save a bit of money, just get Dawn of War 2 + Chaos Rising + Retribution (proper DLCs). Unless the whole package is the cheaper option, of course.

No idea what the difference is between Space Hulk (2013) and the a bit newer Space Hulk Tactics (2018) is. I only played the 2013 iteration and that wasn't a good game.

I think you can skip Armada 1. Armada 2 is a tuned down 4x strategy game with emphasize on a strategic, real time combat mode. Though you can not "overpower" your enemies with fleet size as your fleets are limited by resource points (increases throughout the campaign). This means your fleets are mostly similar in size and power to enemy fleets etc.
Combat does not necessary concentrate on destroying the enemy fleet, holding strategic points is just as important. Many "maps" also have modifiers like for example asteroids randomly cruising around. Still it can get a bit repetitive over time, but worth the 12€ asking price imo.

Mordheim has it's fan base and it can be some fun in MP. It is a wildly accurate Table Top iteration. You'll want to buy all the DLC here too as it adds more factions and units. But overall I'd say: Skip. Unless you really like Mordheim, I guess.

Space Hulk got steam comment'd, lots of people thought is was bad that it was a perfect board game implementation, so now it is delisted and reimplemented in Tactics, still a good game but more video gamey.

Mordheim is old and clunky but a perfect implementation of the board game, you need to be able to tolerate the AI.

Oh no I see people recommending Dawn of War 2. As a huge fan of Dawn of War 1, I HATE Dawn of War 2. Primarily, Dawn of War 1 is somewhat more of a classic RTS, emphasizing small unit tactics. Dawn of War 2 changed into sort of a DOTA (? haven't played em) hybrid where your primary force is your heroes which you level up.

I wish I could elaborate more eloquently why I disliked Dawn of War 2 so much but I haven't played it since its release, whereas I still play Dawn of War 1!

I just think Dawn of War 1 (especially with all the DLC) is just so much better balanced and has a ton more variety of gameplay. The complete Dawn of War 1 with all DLC is on sale for $10 US too.

It's not solely because of Steam.

But, I happened to watch part of a relatively recent stream of theirs because of a game they are publishing, Huntdown (now since another EGS exclusive), and they spoke with such arrogance and contempt about the people waiting for the game to launch on Steam, and basically implying they could have perfectly released the game by now on Steam, and that Steam users wouldn't get certain functionalities (like achievements) while Epic didn't get certain content and certain functionalities, while also heavily implying the Steam version will always be an afterthought, and the Epic version will get things first.

After what I watched, I'll be damned if I give them even one cent for their game.
I would really need to have really low self esteem, to watch a bunch of pathetic, entitled, and obnoxious idiots making fun of potential customers, and still run to give them my money.

That's one of the things I really don't get about the gaming industry.
People get disrespected, and made fun of, and will still reward these fuckers.

If I told anything like that to a client of mine, I would be out of a job.
When it comes to videogame developers, apparently all is good and fair, and they'll surely still be rewarded with lots of money when the game launches on Steam.

Everyone is different, so I'm not "blaming" you in any way. You do what you want with your money, and naturally I do what I want with mine.

But, do tell me: if you go to a restaurant, and the waiter insults you, disrespects you, and leaves you waiting for 2 hours for a meal, will you go back?
I know I wouldn't. Not with so many other alternatives around.

Again, this isn't directed at you, but I frequently notice that many people treat videogames almost like a product that causes addiction, in the sense that people act like they "need" a certain game, and they have to get it, no matter what.
Developers may pull all kinds of crap, engage in all kinds of anti-consumer practices, and everything you can think of, and you have people criticizing them, followed by "but, I really want to play this game".
Personally, I don't get it. I have been playing games for almost 40 years, I did a lot of crazy stuff with or for games (all-night game-playing sessions, queuing during a console or game launch, buying several copies of a game, because of some silly reason, and more), but I never had a problem skipping a game, even if it's a franchise I was previously crazy about.

It saddens me to see so many hard working people struggling, and then have jackasses like the guys from Coffee Stain Studios being rewarded in all fronts: they got money from THQ, they got money from Epic, they got sales at the EGS, they will get sales at Steam, and I'm almost betting that Valve will give them a nice big banner on the front of the Steam page when it launches, like they recently did with games like Hades, while plenty of other developers struggle to get sales, and visibility, on the store.

I hear people saying that what Epic is doing is wrong, because for the developers getting these deals it's almost like winning a lottery, while everyone else struggles.
You know what, it's indeed like winning the lottery. But it's not only Epic rewarding these select few, while ignoring most indie developers: gamers (many of these the same people that fiercely criticize Epic), and (indirectly) Valve, do so as well.

I have not spent a penny on EGS and spent thousands on steam. I'm sure many other people have done the same. Epic trying to make the PC gaming space like a console war is complete bullshit and i'll be damned if i even give a penny to support that shit. The whole "Steam takes too much of a cut is why we started this store" is complete and utter bullshit as well. They just want to money grub for themselves. Before EGS i don't remember any complaints about steams supposed "egregious" cuts.

You are describing Dawn of War 3 and not Dawn of War 2. Most people hate Dawn of War 3 for its DOTA like approach, lane centric map design, focus on heroes which grow in power like DBZ characters untill normal units become afterthoughts etc.
But I agree that DoW 2 and DoW 1 play very different. DoW2 is more like a company of heroes game. DoW 1 is more like a classic RTS.
