Come on, SEGA, you're breaking my heart. :confounded-face:
Where are the PC ports of Judgment, and Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise?

I'm honestly more interested in those 2 games, than the upcoming Yakuza: Like a Dragon (despite already pre-ordering it), and it sucks that they remain unavailable. :blobclosecry:

So having finally started to enjoy Spelunky after many attempts at getting into it im now on a kick to try and see if any other games that i dropped off of will click.

Next up is.......Hollow Knight.
Only played about an hour before bouncing off it. I have enjoyed a few Metriodvanias recently and so maybe that'll help. I fired it up today and its growing on me. Made some progress beyond where i got to before. Its a lovely looking game. My main issue was that my reactions aren't what they used to be and i found the jumping/combat frustrating. I think its starting to click. Has a lot of atmosphere. Im going to stick with it for a bit.

Readher actually managed to remember the name. :)

It was:

I didn't remember the name actually. Rather, I remembered a pretty popular Polish Youtube series called "Worst Games of All Time". One of its selling points is using a certain TTS program that, despite being generally hated by everyone, somehow worked for this. I remembered one of the episodes covered a similar game and went to look for it.

Come to think of it, and have heard of a reverse SAD from what I have a mild form of.
Had no idea that Seasonal Affective Disorder is a medical condition tbh. I knew that people living in certain northern regions have problems. But I never thought about this being of significant relevance in my latitude.
But aren't you more suffering from "normal" Seasonal Affective Disorder? As you dislike winter?
Sorry that it's that bad for you though.

Personally, I wouldn't say that I feel more or less depressed during summer. I'm uncomfortable and I feel like energy is leaving me, especially when the sun is directly touching me. I tend to lurk and stay in shadows for as long as possible.
Sounds like I'm running around, avoiding the sun in public and hissing at it like a vampire.
It's not that bad, I just don't like it for too long. As said in the other thread, everything I do becomes more exhausting and needs more energy. I attribute it to the heat though, as sunlight during winter doesn't bother me at all. It's actually welcome.

I also greatly prefer winter vs, summer vacations. Wife (than gf) once found a very cheap vacation trip to Egypt:
50°C+, we learned the hard way why it was so cheap (about a decade ago).
I swear, I was sometimes getting angry at the sun and I felt like needing a vacation after the vacation.

Now we are reaching 40°C+ here during summer and even today we reached 33°C. I'm just not enjoying it.

Regarding the whole "M$ purchases everything" discussion, I'll fess up.

I regarded those with a strong dislike of game pass as peeps who were stuck in 2005. I of course was the one lacking the correct perspective,

It isn't that gamepass is a bad deal or that it will destroy game development. No, its the fact that M$ is working to make sure that the ONLY way for you to play in the future is endless payment. Netflix for games, complete with all of the trimmings.

It isn't just another new choice, M$ seeks to make it the ONLY choice and unlike Epic games, they have the power to make it so.

So, apologies game pass haters. I see your side. Now, I'm not sold that M$ can completely dominate the industry the way we all fear but already they have the ability to lock up far more it than anyone would have guessed a week ago. Fallout 5, ES6 all GP+XB exclusives, who would have thought?

I'm still subbed to GP until the end of Oct. Might re evaluate then, especially in light of the $5 payment bump.

PS5 is out of plans for good, XB S S is now in my plans and dropping out of the console space after 7 years back, that's on the table as well. I've survived on Steam alone before (2007-2013), I'll do it again if that's what it comes to.

VAMPIRE!!!!

Also, I miss vacations, haven't been on one is three years and it ain't looking good for the future. Its both a source of pride and class based rage. Pride because I've dulled myself into being a 5 days on, two days off machine without complaint, rage because I can't afford to either travel, take time off or expose myself to missing work due to my low income and work class status. In the past all of my vacations have been Summer vacations, so I can see that swaying you.

What is the lowest low in C that you get where you live?

So am I but only because I refuse to play Yakuza 7 before Yakuza 3-6. I don't care that SEGA US is trying to pass it off as a reboot; it's Yakuza 7, that english title is dumb, and give me Yakuza 3-6 already ffs!!!

Yeah, needless to say, we are still missing the rest of the series. :slightly-frowning-face:

I honestly don't understand how a company as big as SEGA doesn't have a (bigger) dedicated team just to port these games to PC.
Even in a worse case scenario, sales of these ports cover the costs of the porting, and at best, like we have seen with several of their games, sales end up giving them a significant profit, so it's a scenario with a minimal risk.

Instead, they resort to outside, small companies, and pretty much work on ports one at a time, at a snail pace.

I really don't get it.
They released 3 PC ports of the Yakuza games in 9 months or so, and since May 2019, nothing.
Clearly, the efforts went to the Xbox One ports instead. Can't they really afford to work on Xbox One ports, while continuing to work on PC ports?

I keep trying out games but can't really run anything.T_T Need to find something to play to fill that void after you finish a RPG.
Oh I know that feeling well... Good look finding something!

I mean THEY could buy Konami and KojiPro
They could...but then again, they could buy just about anyone short of a few companies like Apple or Facebook.
Konami under Microsoft - or any competent publishers not run by knobheads - would be an improvement, I think.

Not the time to announce their games coming to PC I assume.

I really hope Queen's list will turn out true. I'd love to replay The Last of Us 1 on PC at 144hz.

I am too lazy to farm cards and sell them shrugs
I was too, until I decided to use Idle Master for the first time a couple of weeks ago, after seeing a lot of people saying they funded their game purchases by selling these cards.
I had almost 21000 cards to drop. I still have over 18000 cards left. :giggle:

Want a suggestion: if you don't need the funds, save your sanity.
If I hadn't decided to cut back on my "disposable" budget drastically, for a few months at least, I would have dropped it already.
It takes a lot of time, to get 0,01€ or 0,02€ for each card, at best. I mean, I still have 700 cards listed that haven't sold, not even at these prices.

I stopped idling cards because it kept messing up my playtime counter and prevented me from effectively sorting games by playtime to see what I haven't played or from using one of those "pick a random game you haven't played" things.

I've come to accept that anything under 4 hours is either down to cards or my poor temper/attention span. So 4 hours or under is the same as "never played" as far as I'm concerned.

lol, no.
It easily gets under zero.
Whats is the lowest low you've lived through there? -5c?

I think my record is close to -24c. Average low in coldest months, probably -5 to -7c.

The pain of getting in a cold car at 645 am and driving it while your blood is freezing waiting until the heat comes on.... Any experience?

I've taken cold showers in July just to stay cool, never was at risk of losing body parts if my car failed.

Any 80cm snow storms in your lifetime?

Nadella is pulling out the warchest.

You misspelled "Monetary ICBM stockpile"

Are we now in some kind of u.s. high school drama and supposed to compare our snow penis size ? Am i now supposed to answer with:
"You maybe think you know cold. But you merely adopted the cold, I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't experience warmth until I was already a man."

:toucan:

Jokes aside:
I repeat: I like winter and I take getting into a car at -15°C temperature over a car that has been heat up to 50°C+, without AC any time.
You can now deal with that information anyway you like. Either by accepting it like a grown up, or by making up a weird portrait of me being an idiot who thinks 15°C is cold. Whatever fits your bias is fine with me. :shrugblob:

It wasn't my intention to make you seem like an idiot.

Sometimes when I don't understand something or a viewpoint, I'll probe it from different angles and sometimes that includes me getting fixated on a particular track that isn't well founded. Namely, that you live in a warm climate. You live in one like mine.

Part of my disbelief is that I've been cold sensitive as long as I can remember. Which is funny because, if I am cold sensitive, than on a curve, there is you, who is not. I'll buy that.

I'm scared of the cold, I'll admit it.

puts on the "ACTUALLY" Fedora

A winter between -5c to -15c is more relaxing than the muddy depressive mess that is the -2c to +10c winter here in Middle Europe. constant switches between snow that thaws in a few days or immediately, dirty, wet, shoes that are constantly either too warm for the weather or not water-proof enough when it gets warmer. :steam_pigblanket:
