Y'all need to just accept the perfect temperature that is California. (20-24C or 68-75F) Everyday. If you live near enough to the coast, you have pretty much that temp always. Winter, Summer, Fall, Spring whatever. Everyday could be a beach day if you want.

Please ignore the massive wildfires that are turning our Air Quality to hazardous levels every day, everything is fine here. Yes definitely fine. Nothing to see.

I respect cold, I understand that it is dangerous and just like anybody else: I protect myself from it. I feel alive and awake when it's cold outside, but that doesn't mean I'd be able to survive in Siberia or have +50 cold resistance. It also doesn't mean that I want you to love winter or that I'm incapable of understanding why you don't like it.

I'm not living in a hot region, but summer is lately out of control. Take this September: We should have been around 20°C by now, but are still hitting 30°C. At least nights are back to normal 7-10°C for this month.

For the rest: While -15°C in the morning is not unheard off here during winter, it's still a far reach from the winter in the part of the world where I grew up.

I stopped idling cards because it kept messing up my playtime counter and prevented me from effectively sorting games by playtime to see what I haven't played or from using one of those "pick a random game you haven't played" things.
Yeah me too.

Because there are so many shades of blue in those images that there are going to be many more identical color codes. Even if it's for a SEGA collab I really doubt they went to the lengths of trying to make it in a way that a photo of the product under a certain light would then match up with a random Sonic pic.

I don't buy that they would tease such a massive acquisition with a controller color BUT if it does end up happening then I think I'm just going to start believing that Sony did something behind the scenes that massively pissed off Microsoft because holy shit lmao. At this rate, they'll end up owning most of the AAA industry and Sony won't be able to do anything about it.

Pretty much. It's just a 20 minute drive from where I live to the beach and ya it's pretty much the same temperature of around 70F year round with it going to 60F or do in the winter.

Also those pesky seagulls.

I mean MGS got a PC release back then, just like FF7.
Not great ports, but they had 3D acceleration support.
I have a feeling that they are just re-releasing them with some steam features available.

I wonder if some one will try to go back and play MGS V at 8k now. I remember DF making a video about the GTX 1080TI being able to do it but then when the action happened it would drop to like 20fps or so.

Are they going to release another Castlevania and Contra collection, (if it's true)? But there are two other collections which have more games in this collection :thinking-face:

There you go.

My understanding is that these are part of a GOG collection called the Konami Pack. So people calling Konami "lazy" and stuff like that should remember that GOG's entire purpose as a company is to preserve old games by making them compatible with modern systems and easily available. If GOG are involved, these will have all relevant fan patches, and potentially additional tinkering if necessary. MGS2 in particular transforms from a pretty terrible port into a pretty good one through fan patches.

This GOG post from earlier in the month was likely teasing the release.

If Konami are going to remaster any of the Metal Gear titles, it will be handled separately, just as Blade Runner on GOG was a separate release to Night Dive's upcoming Blade Runner Remastered. There are rumours circulating about Metal Gear Solid being remade, and MGS2-4 being remastered. Our own the_marmolade claimed that he had a heard a Metal Gear Solid 3 remaster was in the works by Virtuous prior to E3 2019.

I asked madjoki if there was a way to search "names" on depots on Steamdb. Unfortunately he told me there weren't, but it would be interesting if we could get a way to look for Virtuous entries on Steamdb for potential "remastered" versions along the way.

That's how we knew about FFXIIIs potential Virtuous work on them, for instance.

Also, what trustworthy and reputable sources do you guys recommend to follow on the new Steam Hub News feature?

I think it will happen, if this is happening then I have no reason to think that GOG team forgot about SH.

What amazes me is that Konami is releasing ANYTHING on GOG, that's weirder than an unicorn.

The only one that I want to see is Twin Snakes, but I guess that would be Nintendo's decision.
Hard to say. Japanese companies are really evasive when it comes to legal stuff. Look how much nonsense Sony and Atlus pull with Persona. We all know there's money being passed under the table to keep Persona off non-Sony consoles, but none of the companies involved are willing to act like adults and admit it outright.

Nintendo banned Square Enix employees from being allowed to enter the HQ after they fell out over Sony, but nobody on the outside knew about this. Language barrier, geographic distance, stuff like that, I guess.

Same with MGS4. Maybe there's some Sony legal baggage. Maybe not. Maybe Konami got cold feet about putting so much work into porting a game that has a really divisive reputation in hindsight. The actual engineering stuff with an MGS4 port is overblown. It's not THAT hard. It just has to make sense financially.

I feel like in this current atmosphere, you'd be most likely to get a Twin Snakes port for Switch.

I have to wonder if this is related to the UK and US branches seemingly being given more autonomy. They're publishing third party games now, too. MGS and Silent Hill have always been highly wishlisted on GOG. But Japanese companies are really hard to talk to. Honestly, SH2-4 on GOG would be such a dream.

All that said, imagine how much of a disaster this is gonna be if the alleged GOG release is wrong and this is just Konami dumping them on Steam with zero QA. All rage would be totally justified.

Especially when Konami's major businesses are gym, resort and pachinko... Covid definitely hit them HARD.
They make a lot more money from videogames, mind. A lot of people don't realize just how much money. Konami sold 187,000 copies of eBaseball 2020 in its opening week across Switch and PS4. It released in July, and by August it had sold 500,000 copies. That's a Japan only game. That's crazy good. Nobody talks about this because it's a Japan-only series. PES also sells millions. But it doesn't get talked about because sports games and their fans kinda exist in their own universe, I suppose.

I know Konami is a complicated topic, but people really underestimate how involved they are in games. It's just that they've taken perhaps too much time to regain their footing with non-sports titles, in terms of producing massively selling AAA (or AA) hits.

If Konami just came out and said what they were working on over the next few years, Square Enix style, they'd probably be regarded a lot more coherently. Most people don't pay attention to financial statements or Konami reaffirming their dedication to PC/console game development. They wanna see the fruit, so to speak.

Japan's biggest problem with COVID has been old school Japanese companies being terrible at remote work. Nintendo in particular is just DIRE.

I'm not touching the game ever.
Remember the dev(s) being very special, aggressive people with a big ego problem.
I'm guessing Ubi is not part of that :evilblob:
They are making so much money thanks to Ubi+, they don't need more....

When I was looking for images for the Xbox x SEGA mashup I did yesterday, I stumbled upon this. Definitely an interesting choice of cover for a store to pick. Must've picked the first thing that came from a Google search, which happened to be a mirror meme.

Gee who would have thought
The thing is: Until you posted it here, I first thought the Tweet (which only said Xbox one X 700% up on Amazon) meant the SERIES X are up 700% (because of the Bethesda news or something) and had no interest in the self-wank on Era...
Even news are confusing about it! That's WiiU level of bad naming.

Exclusives are great for the industry! :heroblob:

Wait? MS bought Bethesda? Oh... :anguished-face:

Oh, wait, I know, I know, they're clearly going to release all games on every platform!!! :coffee-blob:

Wait what? They aren't? Well Bethesda games suck anyway and I never wanted to play them and Starfield is going to be a new Fallout76. :cryblob:

We're witnessing all five stages of grief from Sony fanboys and it's glorious.

Exclusives suck, who would have thought?

Yeah everyone but Sony have bad naming sense. Nothing can defeat PS1/2/3/4/5.
I'll probably buy Yakuza 6 later today

So expect the announcement of the PC version in the very near future
Thank you for your service.

The Xbox One X was discontinued months ago and the 700% was for Amazon rankings. That's not going to translate to much sales since there's basically no stock left besides refurbished units and 3rd party sellers on Amazon.
What about the Million of consoles that are in customer's hands? There will be a boat-load of people who will sell "Xbox One X, excellent condition, etc." to confused people and parents/grandparents who are desperately trying to fullfill their kids wish.

Sony fans who now go with the rhetoric that timed exclusives aren't as bad as buying out studios for full exclusives forget that 3/4 of Japanese publishers omit Xbox out of principle and Sony has free exclusivity for those games, while the few big Japanese publishers who release on Xbox like Square end up having their games moneyhated for timed exclusivity as well. So Xbox is missing almost entire market of Japanese games for pretty much no reason, and on top of that Sony buys timed exclusivity for Western games too. Xbox would be left with first-party and the few big Western franchises like CoD and Ubisoft games once again if they didn't step in somehow. Sony only has themselves and Japanese devs/publishers mentality to blame for what's happened. I mean, when you see some developers cry about Sony censorship, yet they still keep releasing their games on PS and continue to omit Xbox (and sometimes even PC and Switch too), that's just Stockholm syndrome and you have no right to complain.

Doubt that. I think those numbers are way overblown by mistakes made due to the pre-orders launch frenzy. I've seen plenty of people purchasing a 2080 during the 3080 launch debacle. It happens and many of those orders were cancelled soon after but they still impacted sale algorithms.

The WII U situation was different because they failed to make it clear that it was actually a new console, beyond the name. Those ads made it look like a new accessory for the WII.
