And I know for a fact that reviews have told me things about games that I would have otherwise bought -- things like time limits. I fucking hate being forced to rush in a game, and I've been burned before when something like that wasn't clearly indicated in the description.
I just ran across this a couple days ago.

Was always interested in Lego City Undercover and the $5 price point during the Steam sale seemed like the perfect opportunity to dive in.

Then I looked over reviews and saw that the game has NO mouse support. At all.

WTF?

So it's controller or nothing. I chose nothing 'cause I can't stand gaming with a controller (unless it's ETS2, lol).

Thing is, the Steam store page says nothing about limited entirely gimped keyboard/mouse support. I wouldn't have known at all without the aid of user feedback.

This game will no longer be available for purchase after July 27, 2021. Instead, please purchase the pixelated remaster version of "FINAL FANTASY VI," coming soon.
****

Game is FFV message is about FFVI ... SE gonna SE.

That said this is the least surprising thing, it's so SE to delist "old versions" of games (but for some odd reason both versions of FFVIII are on steam, and the Last Remnant never got the remastered version).

Im heavily considering uninstalling the early access games I have installed and wait till they are out, both because, well they are not complete and because some of them lack cheevos. Many of them are already fantastic games, so I wanna play them, but think Im gonna wait till they are complete, games like Gunfire Reborn, Satisfactory, Dyson, Valheim etc.
If you do uninstall - what else is there to play?

Only 50k other games

In this case nothing of value was lost, these versions of FF5 and 6 are disliked for a reason.

The 3D remakes of FF3 and FF4 are going to remain though, their store pages were updated with "(3D Remake)" added to their names.

50 year old me looking forward to play Hyperdimension Neptunia
50 year old me still wondering if Buffy the Vampire Slayer will be fully playable start to finish in whatever version of cxbx/xemu is out at that point or I'f i'll still not have a way to dump the games I own due to lack of hardware - assuming the used 360 i have now doesnt get some kind of wundermod before it dies.

Some games
They age well, there might be some drawbacks or things that show their age
But they still age well
Even with all you said (and in the following posts), i gotta ask: Is Donald wearing golden shoes/slippers or are they just incredibly low res feet?

Same message seems to be under FFVI page. Also did III and IV got new covers with text 3D remake?

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Magic: Legends will be shutting down on October 31, 2021. All players who spent money in-game across Arc and the Epic Games Store during the Open Beta will be refunded their full purchase amounts. Servers will remain open for play until closing day, however we will be closing the Zen Shop effective immediately. Later this week, all items will instead be purchasable using Aether, our free in-game currency.

Game was bad, but had potential, if it had released on Steam things might have been different. EGS is a death sentence, I hope devs take notice.

SE just keep taking stupid approaches. There's absolutelly no need to remove the older versions.

Just imagine when FF7R arrives on Steam and they remove the original game.

Imo the problem with many Indie Devs is that they only look at themselves as artists, whereas the scale should skew more toward being a business.

Before developing your product, you should first see if there's any market. I'm sorry, but your puzzle-platformer probably isn't going to cut it in 2021. Even if there's a market (e.g. roguelite or metroidvania), there should be something different/better about your game. Why should people play your generic roguelite when in the last few years alone, we've had StS, Dead Cells, and Hades. Let's say your game is different and there is a market for it, how are people going to know about it? You can't just tweet into the void or open a Steam Page and expect people to know about your game.

Even if you do those things, there's no guarantee that your game will be a success. There are so many great games and only 24 hours in a day. But imo, that's the bare minimum you have to do. Many Indie devs look at all this the wrong way. They think their games should sell, because they've worked hard (and I'm not saying they haven't) and maybe poured their soul into it. The average customer doesn't (and imo shouldn't be expected to) care about that and is concerned with the problems in their own life. Some devs take everything personally and think they should be immune from criticism, but it's just a business transaction for the average customer. Ideally, you really shouldn't be making your passion project as your first game. At least, not unless you already have a stable income.

L4D clones are boring as shit, I'm sorry unless you're payday or Vermintide just stop you're garbage.

Back 4 blood was complete shit in its "beta" and they were literally just CRTL + C, CRTL + V huge parts of l4d

All that one made me feel was "Man I want to go play L4d2 again"

They kept the original FF8 for sale despite releasing a remaster, and they're keeping the 3D versions of 3 and 4 despite the new versions. FF7R would have been a similar situation to these.

Since the older FF5 and FF6 are disliked and they're not very different from the new versions, keeping both old and new would likely just create confusion, I guess they don't want to deal with users buying the older versions by mistake?

Is L4D clones the new Battle Royal?
Yes, but there's a lot more room for experimentation in the L4D formula than battle royale, or so it would seem.
And if Valve takes this a reason to bring back the king, then by all means, everyone dog pile. W can move on to the next trend after that.

Tbh the person who mistake both versions has only itself to blame, the images and I guess the title are different enough 🤣.

Even though these versions are disliked maintaining the pages up could help preserving said versions.

My cart:

Removed Satisfactory since it's only 20% off and being in EA I might not play it right now. Any feedback? Something I can remove? :detectiveblob:
I picked up Cozy Grove and have played it already, it's lovely. I never played Animal Crossing but yea to me it seems like a better Animal Crossing. Do keep in mind, you are limited in how much you can do per day (much like AC) which is a negative for some but it's awesome to play a game like this and feel real progress in a short amount of time.

I'm like "there's a 3D version of Final Fantasy IV" ?

I've totally missed that. I only thought they did a 3D remake of III...

I guess we had cycle of shoehorning MP modes in SP games, we had MOBA cycle and we had Battle Royal cycle. Now it is time for 4 player coop cycle.

Not surprising honestly, the game wasn't very good at all.
They had an interesting premise with random cards giving you skills forcing to play different stuff. But it seems almost impossible to balance. A,d it was ugly, didn't feel very good, had technical issues, and it's one of many in a flood of better diablo-clones.

WoftC is one of those companies that always invest as little as possible for their videogames. It's crazy that such a giant franchise got so little done, though Arena is pretty decent at least...

So today we learnt that taking EGS exclusivity money on a game that actually requires a player base is probably not going to be a good idea and struggle to get the player base needed to sustain it.

and by today we learnt, I mean most of us called it at the time.

No player base, and no centralized place for feedback.

Today I didn’t spend my time watching, discovering more or less, Asmongold !
No, I read a reddit post about WoW vs FFXIV. Huge progress.

If what I gathered over the last few days about the state of the game is true, I don’t want anything to do with WoW.
I mean I don’t give a fuck about Raid or PvP, so it should have been obvious. But apart from that, there is this distinct smell about the community, the smell of dickheads. Not that new, in fact all my anxiety playing FF in group was born in WoW after all. Feelings I’m still having to grasp with some 10 year later.

No disrespect to our resident addict (please pardon me I forgot who) and the other one I know is / was playing recently. I want to love WoW, I just can’t tolerate hyper competitive mindset.
