How old are you if you dont mind me asking? I remember being some restrictions with AZ?
I'm 33. It's recommended to not have it if you're under 30 as the blood clot risk is higher than the COVID death risk.
Still, that is a very small chance of happening. I'm not worried.
He last posted a worrying message on March 19. He lurked on April 4, so I don't know what to think.

If anything else, this prompts an interesting question. There's been this thought about individualism versus the whole, schools of thoughts about solidarity and socialism. But this is on a scale that involves governments and there is a point to be made about such nuances applying there.
Interestingly enough, countries that are very collectivist in culture also have no problem with creating a damn mess that spills into other countries. India here, and China at first.

I got my second AZ jab on saturday and i was fine with it. All three of us in my house have had the two AZ jabs now and I can confirm that with AZ the first jab makes you feel rough ~24 hours later and one housemate had headaches on and off for a few days but all of us were fine after the second jab.
I'm still going to keep a mask on when outside and won't be diving into packed pubs and beaches for a long while but that's just my normal preference anyway. heh.

Got my first shot today. When they said the arm would hurt, didn’t take them that seriously, but yeah it hurts haha.

I had my second Pfizer shot two weeks ago, and more and more of friends and family had (or: are getting) theirs too. Truely uplifting feeling, that.
Should be getting a date for my second AstraZeneca shot soon. I believe the turnaround time for a second shot of this one is 12 weeks, so it's been weird to see a few youngins who qualified for the Pfizer shot here in the UK actually getting their first shot after mine, but their second shot before my follow up.

It's about as good as Pfizer. It's one of the mRNA ones so you're golden.
Moderna and Pfizer are ~95% effective, so you've got the best protection. J&J is ~70%, AstraZeneca is ~75%. No idea about any of the others.
However, all vaccines are good at preventing severe COVID-19 symptoms, so even if you got a less effective one and wound up catching it anyway, the chance you have to go to hospital or have any serious long term effects is close to nothing.
The best way to think of it is this: if you're exposed to COVID-19 and you have a vaccine that's 75% effective, there's a 3 in 4 chance you won't be infected. And if the odds aren't in your favour and you're one of the 1 in 4 people, there's an infinitely small chance that you'll need to go to hospital.
In short, it doesn't matter if it's an mRNA or an old fashioned vaccine, you shouldn't worry if you got the less effective ones because there are benefits for people who do wind up getting infected.

95% isn't 100%, and COVID's consequences are pretty scary as someone who adores mountains and trekking. I like my VOX the way it is.
I mean mask isn't mandatory in France anymore outside and I didn't know. I realise that mask is important, and will have it with me, but walking outside I rather be without mask.
I'll keep wearing a mask until i feel safe. there's enough morons in this country that it may be a while before i stop wearing one and i'm definitely not launching myself in a busy pub or club anytime soon unless i'm forced to.
Dammit, I’m one of the rare cases that got an allergic reaction to the moderne vaccine. Huge red spot and swelling.
The shot was nearly 10 days ago wasn't it? Wow, that took it's sweet time to react!

Yeah I had a red spot quickly but it has now started swelling. I read that it can take up to 11 days for it to come. It should go away by it self.
My mother also got Moderna, and had the swelling after 8 days. It didn't seem to have much of an adverse effect other than the localized swelling/itching, luckily.
Got my second AstraZeneca vaccine today. My arm is sore like last time, but I actually feel fine otherwise. We'll see if that holds up tomorrow morning. I felt like warmed up shit the day after the first.
Also, glad to get my full course. This virus has caused me a lot of concern, especially as my partner is asthmatic and had to shield. Feels like a weight lifted off our shoulders. Plus we can go see her family in North Wales over the summer and meet our baby niece for the first time.

Got my second shot yesterday afternoon, Moderna to compliment pfizer first shot. felt fine yesterday,. 2am rolls around and ive got a fever and chills.

- dont do it the same day as your significant other - someone needs to take care of you if youre walking around feeling like icicle mr burns
- it's still worth it even if you feel ike garbage
- take time off work just in case
I expected a similar reaction to my first shot, which was, a kinda sore arm, but damn.I am the only one who felt nothing bad after each jab, except a very slightly sore arm near the injection location the day after.
Trying to figure out whether I got distilled water instead.
A couple of days later and I'm having brain fog, fatigue and joint aches (even in my fingers). The brain fog is new (and made working this week extremely difficult), but I felt the same after the first jab, only twice as bad.

Got my first sinovac dose 30 minutes ago. 4 weeks from now for the second dose. So far not feeling any kind of reaction/side effects.
I got my second pfizer shot and damn do I feel like crap. Had a pretty huge fever during the night, but it seems to be slowly receding.

Getting my second moderne tomorrow. I’m actually little scared haha! Not only for the allergic reaction but also since the second dose is the one that messes people up.
Beside pain in the arm I don't seem to have any other issues from the second moderna shot. But I do expect allergy reaction to come like last time in a week or so.

Ugh, they just reinstated masks in closed spaces here. Just as I started to get used to life without COVID again, it's rearing back its ugly head again

Yet in the UK they're effectively dropping any and all restrictions so i expect huge spikes by autumn as you know this country is full of the type of people who are going to deliberately stand right next to you because of freedoms and i expect tons of bullying of people who use their own freedom to decide to continue to wear a mask and be sensible about things.
There again i'm a massive cynic and we may be ok. Looking at other countries who have relaxed their rules i don't think so but the gov doesn't care.

- a few others who are obviously positive (permanent cough and running nose) and refuse to isolate (this is the worst, even if they wear a mask),
