Good news, this is not a console!Hmmm looks good but I never liked buying consoles day 1 so I'm torn
Does it sound better if I say I usually don't want to risk it with first batch hardware?Good news, this is not a console!
I get what you're saying and yeah there's a big risk but there's also big pros. It's a matter of how the pros and cons measure up for you. Either wayyou can always wait and see how well they work and buy later, I don't believe we'll suffer from something similar to what's happening with the ps5.Does it sound better if I say I usually don't want to risk it with first batch hardware?
That sounds very reasonable, actually.Does it sound better if I say I usually don't want to risk it with first batch hardware?

Hey now this sounds like corporate propaganda to me,Sweeney can't talk shit about SteamDeck because he supports the Switch and makes money off Fortnite on it. Talking shit about the Deck will make him look like a giant hypocrite.
But you know he wants to say something bad. You can just see him being so angry he can't lol
It's the return of the king.oh no
This calls for a branded steamroll of toilet paper.Maybe if I get a Steamdeck I will finally dive into the expanded free trial of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV allowing me to play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award-winning Heavensward expansion for free with no limit on playtime because I can play it while on the toilet
Haha, thanks lashIMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!! (in the linked post)

I second that, or at least I'm tempted... hrm, but I'm also tempted to get electric scooterRegarding Steamdeck:
maybe cheaper panels?I don't get the decision to use 16:10 aspect ratio for the display...
Hmmm maybe a factory needed to get rid of them, haha. I just hate to have black bars appearing when a game somehow doesn't support that ratio. I also dislike the iPads ratio for video content.maybe cheaper panels?
yeah, that wouldn't be ideal, lolHmmm maybe a factory needed to get rid of them, haha. I just hate to have black bars appearing when a game somehow doesn't support that ratio.
I think Sony completely gave up on portables after Vita, and I don't see them coming back. Its still so crazy to me that Valve was able to beat out Sony/Xbox to a handheld device in this Switch success timeline. And those 2 companies make billions charging people for online play and partnered with AMD for a long time too.
I get Valve has OS and backwards compatibility advantage within the PC space but still no excuse Sony didn't make a PS4 portable with how massive that platform became. The hardware is there and the Deck is proof heh. And Xbox BC is great too. It makes sense for them to make something but Valve is the one to actually do it lol.
Easy solution to that, Valve just needs to use an OLED panel.yeah, that wouldn't be ideal, lol
Probably cheaper to source them.I don't get the decision to use 16:10 aspect ratio for the display...
And I surely hope Nintendo is sweating. There is a dire need of healthy competition in the handheld realm. With Steam Deck, I truly hope Nintendo will be pushed to deliver a better Switch variant next time. Its still so crazy to me that Valve was able to beat out Sony/Xbox to a handheld device in this Switch success timeline. Muramasa and SteamPal news all in one night? We might be going into lockdown but at least it's not all doomposting.
They should have still tried. Maybe they still will.I think Sony completely gave up on portables after Vita, and I don't see them coming back.
Don't think Microsoft really cares about expanding their gaming audience to a specialised handheld device, not when Gamepass already covers all Android phones.
Nintendo budges for nothing but itself. They've got their blinders on and will keep on doing what they do regardless of what happensAnd I surely hope Nintendo is sweating. well they don't have to ... HZD and Days Gone will go portable very soonI think Sony completely gave up on portables after Vita, and I don't see them coming back.
If this sells a tenth of what the Switch manages I'd call it a success. I don't think Nintendo will be too concerned. And I surely hope Nintendo is sweating. Same people will also say Valve rests on their laurels and does nothingSo I left our little bubble to check what the perception of the SteamPalDeck is and I was surprised by how many people had no idea about Proton being a thing.
The Steam Deck is an enthusiast device and won't be in the same universe as the Switch as far as sales go. It looks like a cool toy and I'm getting one, but it's going to mostly be a niche thing. And I surely hope Nintendo is sweating. There is a dire need of healthy competition in the handheld realm. 10% of the Switch would be 8.5 million units and I think Valve would be over the moon if they sold that many.If this sells a tenth of what the Switch manages I'd call it a success. I don't think Nintendo will be too concerned.
True. Many people had now idea of all the things Valve has been implementing in the past years.Same people will also say Valve rests on their laurels and does nothing
I actually like that. with Sony and Microsoft battling it out for the mainstream i like that Nintendo just do their own thing. It's refreshing. Like Valve in a way, i know people get annoyed at them but i don't need Valve to do the same as everyone else. It'd be boring. For me Nintendo and PC/Steam are my main gaming platforms partially because they do what they want and what they find interesting.Nintendo budges for nothing but itself. They've got their blinders on and will keep on doing what they do regardless of what happens
Luckily I remember to disable automatic updates for the game.Tried Nier:A with new patch, runs worse for me from what i can tell (than old version with FAR), fucking QLOC lol
got quite the boost compared to previous version here ... and new versions of FAR and NAIOM should be up tomorrowTried Nier:A with new patch, runs worse for me from what i can tell (than old version with FAR), fucking QLOC lol
