Started playing Psychonauts 2 and looooooving it! But one thing that already is driving me crazy is that its to linear! Im a collectionist and any game that progresses you through a level without the ability to go back to get missed collectibles sucks money balls.
Not so spoil anything, but given that the first game had a way to revisit levels after you finished them, as well as a way to teleport within them to different stages, it would be strange if they didn't feature this here too. Maybe the teleport within the same level is only unlocked after you finish it?
You get access to the "Collective Unconscious" after beating the first boss. From there, you can visit previous levels again. However, you cannot replay levels from scratch, and have to rely on this yellow being who teleports you to the locations of your choice inside each level. I am sure you have to revisit levels, even to complete the first level (and get a green check-mark in your notebook, but no achievement for it), because you need to unlock new psychic powers first.

Any more info on that? First I'm hearing about this.

Naturally, but mostly about the command line interface that morningbus mentioned.
Oh, I see. Well then, GitHub - derrod/legendary: Legendary - A free and open-source replacement for the Epic Games Launcher

Also someone developed a gui frontend called Heroic, too: GitHub - Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher: A Native GUI Epic Games Launcher for Linux, Windows and Mac.

Torment: Tides of Numenera got a price cut in I believe it happened in every region on Steam store plus the price follows Valve suggested regional price.

Although many probably own the game due to it being bundled twice, this new pricing is great news and I hope it sheer some light for future semi-old games price adjustments.

I paid the same price for a boxed Poland-exclusive special edition on launch lol.

Yeah, this is pretty much how it worked in the first game too. It's a bit nicer here, because you don't see those teleport bugs right away (as you did in Psychonauts 1) which I felt takes you out of the game a bit.
This is nice. Will probably use this to play Alan Wake 2, as I don't need to install Tim Sweeneys shitty malware on my PC.

This felt damn good. It was amazing to replay the trilogy even if it took me forever (started around when it came out). I felt a lot more emotional playing everything back to back, especially ME3. They really nailed the squadmate goodbyes.

Now that that is complete, I'm finally playing Andromeda to completion. Only made it to the first proper planet on launch. The vibe really is completely different. I don't dislike it, but I do prefer the more linear area design with small hubs from the trilogy. This feels like Mass Effect plugged into the Dragon Age Inquisition design framework. The opening world was fantastic (very dense, wide-linear), Eos is pretty bland as a desert, and I like how harsh Voeld feels so far. Also, I don't love the new enemy designs. Both the Kett and the Remnant are pretty boring in terms of aesthetic. I understand the desire to head off to a completely new part of the universe, but I miss all the enemies that are gone. I think the only enemy that has impressed me so far was a Remnant Architect. Nothing else has as much personality as a charging Krogan or a Geth leaping sniper.

I should be able to wrap up all achievements except for Insanity (wanted to focus on the combat based ones for this run). Insanity will just be a new game plus speed run.

bought this and was amazed, i really dont have a lot of indie games, but the regional price and the art/music sold me, it is short but i enjoyed my time with it.
I nearly bought this yesterday, but I really shouldn't. And then that Humble Bundle from yesterday has several wishlisted games in it.....

oh god no

I remember as a kid I had a PS1 demo disc of Monster Rancher 1 and I loved it as a raising sim. It was legitimately hard too, you gotta work hard to take good care of the little critters. 90% of the time I played the demo as a kid my monster would die before the end or get really sick. But it was so cozy and so much fun seeing your monsters grow and seeing it pay off in the Arena.

Wow, hell has frozen over.
S-E has actually patched the games and fixed my main problem with it (the regional setting glitch) and has fixed the fact that the game didn't keep the fullscreen setting.
did it also fix the screen tearing? The only way I could get the game to not screen tear when walking was to force vsync in my nvidia settings

EDIT: They did!

I have an issue with my Xbox 360 wired controller: it gets regularly disconnected for a second at most.

I first suspected that the USB port was worn out, but the issue was present even if I tried other USB ports (both back and front). Then I suspected the power supply of the USB ports, and I remembered that I had another Xbox 360 wired controller in a dusty box: the second controller works perfectly fine. So the only explanation left is that there is an issue with the first controller itself.

I will try to see if I can fix it in a simple manner (faulty contact).
Otherwise, it will end up with the garbage after ~ 10 years of service, I am not sure if it can be recycled.

I also suspect the wire itself. I have to run some tests.

Man, I try and stay away from console-only tech talk but I got pulled into it today.

ConsoleEra is determined that 60fps for AAA will be the baseline standard going forward for the rest of the XBSX/PS5 generation. Even after cross-gen development is eventually phased out.

Woof.

Performance-modes with variable resolution and lower details to the rescue. Consoles are moving beyond the outdated 'options? stfu and enjoy your 20fps' mindset afterall.

I haven't played the new one yet, but I loved Subnautica. It was terrifying yet really addicting! Quite possibly in my top ten of the past decade or so.
Same. Subnautica is fantastic (lava zone is a bit weak though).
I'm enjoying Below Zero pretty much the same. Initially it seemed like the "resistance" I'd built up from playing the first game would make it less scary, but as I continue to explore more biomes and get deeper all the NOPE's are coming back.

I'm still surprised that that game got 3 rounds of exclusivity money It was always going to sell.
Tetris effect also got 3 deals but it's a totally different scale.

I thought Bravely Default 2 was super boring. I finished the game and am struggling to remember the names of the party members.
