I think what's amazing is that if you ask any of our members here to compile a list of 2022 games they are looking forward to, they will give you an entirely different list. Such is the depth of choices we can expect these days.

I don't think we'll be starving for quality games anytime soon.
Couldn't say it better. The amount of choice is truly astonishing. :coffee-blob:

Meanwhile I'm replaying Hollow Knight, despite having a huge backlog. 🙄
I wish I could offer helpful advice.... I'm having a big problem with replaying games this year.

So far I have replayed Titanfall 2, Homeworld 1,2 and Karak, all Dead Space games and even Mass Effect Andromeda(!!!), and that's ignoring remasters - you know, little games like Mass Effect Legendary edition.

So that could have been a "few" games removed from my backlog. But at least I can continue to complain about it being big

If you want to find out if your system supports Windows 11, there's an advanced tool that checks much more than the official tool from Microsoft. You can download it here:

My Windows 10 keeps crashing when enabling TPM in the BIOS. According to the tool linked above, this is because my boot SSD is still in MBR mode instead of GPT. I found a guide to change this without wiping the Windows 10 installation, but I'm not sure I can trust this. Anyone tried this?

Also my BIOS is in BIOS + UEFI mode. I guess this needs to be UEFI only? I don't know anything about this matter...

No point for me because they didn't officially added 7700k to the compatible list so I'm not in a hurry for the update, thanks anyway.

No chance with my i7-4790K. Maybe with the next big upgrade.

I think the first Shantae game shown on the picture has never been part of a bundle yet.
There are some good games in the bundle that might be worth €9.99 but Humble Choice is near so bear that in mind

Edit. I don't know why the link says July lol but its for September
Only interested of Shantae ulti. Would be nice to have 1 for 5€ tier.

Well I think I may have had enough of ERA. Kind of exploded at another user that accused me of running everything on my PC as an Admin while ignoring everything else about my post. Hell even decided to report myself for it. Even asked for a ban from the site.

Hell it was just as well there wasn't a cricket bat or some other blunt instruments around. I could have really done some damage.

Funny thing is I am usually a fairly calm person.

Anyway, I think I need to stay away from places like that for some time. Stop reading comments, I had already stopped with Social Media in general. Spend the weekend playing FFXIV, a bit of 40K with friends and seeing my parents for Sunday Lunch.

Will still be here though. Will need a crowbar to get me away from here.

Finally hats off to Alexandros and Lashley they have the patience of saints when they are on Era.

Yeah, I don't know why they tried to frame you as some idiot who can't work a PC?

Era is somehow getting worse with PC threads imo

I don't know if its me or just Choice day very close but another historical lowest price on a game potentially screaming Choice next week
Yeah I'm hoping for Spellforce 3 and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD myself for Choice. Spellforce 3 is getting a updated version if you own the old version so that would be nice to get upgraded and Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is releasing next month so getting Banana Blitz would be a good advertisement for the new game. At least I'm hopeful it is.

At this point if I unpause Choice I would be charged right? I just want to use that discount on their store before their current sale ends but I don't want their current offering.

Outside of Ubisoft Connect and its 45 billion admin requests, what things need admin privileges?
Genshin Impact is one thing.
The other's more complicated. I use Steam Input and a Steam Controller to home-theaterize my PC and laptop. Steam Input normally doesn't work with admin processes, it can't interact with them and if they come in focus things can break. So when I'm using my PC or laptop without a keyboard and mouse attached, it's very helpful to have them under Admin privileges so I don't need to get up and find a spare mouse if something goes wrong enough to need the task manager.
It also helps with running Genshin through Steam so I don't need a mouse to start it.

Okay, this is a steam-related thread so no DIIR is justified.

But that's fucked up that lashman has a picture of Bill Murray for Deathloop, when that dev team made a conscious decision to feature black protagonists, against all odds and industry trends.

Yeah I get the Groundhog's Day joke, but I decided on the reveal of that game that I would buy it because of all that melanin.

I can't comment on the home theater setup you've got going on, but Genshin Impact requiring admin privileges sounds really odd. It really shouldn't need that.

But if it works for you and you're fine with the risks, I have no intention of changing your ways. :tightly-closed-eyes:

Yeah, I recall having to run Steam in admin mode so that I could use Steam input with Genshin. Worth it just to tweak the camera to be more responsive.

Question: is there anything of importance I should back up from the Steam folder if I'll be doing a clean install?

hmm, some pretty good games there. I may wait a few days just to see if any of them are in the September Humble Choice, though

A clean install of Steam or Windows?

userdata has all the important stuff, i.e. saves, screenshots and various configurations

steamapps has all the installed games

Genshin's got it's own anticheat that needs Admin privileges, I guess.
I've had this kinda setup for... Probably three years or so now, and I've had nothing bad happen. Granted, I'm smart enough to know basic internet safety, and also that Windows Defender is actually better than paid anti-virus stuff.

Apparently Admin accounts and having UAC off are bad things.
Bad things are when you have to call ms and report cc and driver's license info in order to receive an email which asks 5 reasons why you should be able to launch your application on your pc and a warning about malicious attempts to remove spyware crap.

admin + no uac = great
