I don't know guys, I think Epic won BIG.

I thought madjoki was only referring to the damages. If that is not the case, and he was referring to what you posted, that is interesting. I am eager to see whether Apple will try to go after Netflix, Kindle and Spotify for the licensing fee which they are entitled to. If they don't, I guess "reader apps" and "subscriptions models" will be booming. No, Apple is entitled to some manner of compensation for letting Apps on the store in general, and currently that is 30%.
The question is why would Apple refuse to go after what they are rightfully entitled to?Apple exempts reader apps like Netflix from many of rules.
This won't be specific to "reader apps" after the Epic vs. Apple trial. And they can soon link outside, due to earlier lawsuit settlement.
It's something that they currently allow with exceptions, would be harder to add fees back than have from beginning. The question is why would Apple refuse to go after what they are rightfully entitled to?
This won't be specific to "reader apps" after the Epic vs. Apple trial.
So what will be specific to "reader apps" in the future is that they are allowed at the discretion of the platform owner to profit from Apple's intellectual property without paying any commission fee.
On top of being allowed to abuse the system to avoid IAP: they link to their website without offering an IAP equivalent using Apple payment system.
They're either deals that were signed long ago (Saints Row, Crysis, maybe Tiny Tina), part of Epic's Hail Mary attempt or Tim Sweeney being too stubborn to admit that he got his ass whipped by hyper-toxic pro consumer humorless trolls. In any case it doesn't matter anymore, nobody cares about EGS and the games that are thrown into that black hole of a store simply disappear from customers' minds until they arrive on Steam. Is it me or is the amount of EGS exclusive announcements increasing again? I was hoping Epic would stop this nonsense since they are going for full exclusivity with their published games now. What on earth are they hoping to achieve after 3 years of underperforming exclusives?
I'm 90% sure that there's a Tim tweet (the other 10% is that it wasn't a tweet and it was an interview) where he said that after the first few batches of exclusives they would make deals earlier in development, while this sounds like the opposite.Epic was looking for some last minute deal
Perhaps. But it's been a while since we've seen exclusivity deals for games that were already being advertised on Steam. And lately it's happening again, Tiny Tina has a store page as well. They're either deals that were signed long ago (Saints Row, Crysis, maybe Tiny Tina)
Company strategy depends greatly on what Sweeney feels like that particular day (obviously with some limits, but I'm not really joking here)I'm 90% sure that there's a Tim tweet (the other 10% is that it wasn't a tweet and it was an interview) where he said that after the first few batches of exclusives they would make deals earlier in development, while this sounds like the opposite.
But predicting something with this company is like trying to understand their top seller list.
Geoforce, don't get me wrong but when you see more than one exclusivity deal announced in the same month you tend to overreact and it's not what it's happening right now. This may indicate that this was a recent deal, meaning that Epic recently decided to go full-in on exclusives again. I'm just curious why that is. Perhaps because this years exclusives didn't do very well (especially Kingdom Hearts and Crysis Remastered), leading to a lack in growth in 2021 as well.
Yeah it seems like a lot of companies are treating EGS as a dumping ground for games they think will sell poorly or turn out bad to get some easy money. At this point, any game that goes EGS exclusive is a red flag that the game is probably shit
To be honest I don't see this "going full-in" that you mention. We've had E3, the PC Gaming Show and Gamescom and only a handful of exclusives were announced. Which games made you form that impression?Perhaps. But it's been a while since we've seen exclusivity deals for games that were already being advertised on Steam. And lately it's happening again, Tiny Tina has a store page as well.

You're probably right. Thanks MorGeoforce, don't get me wrong but when you see more than one exclusivity deal announced in the same month you tend to overreact and it's not what it's happening right now.
Epic is always willing to pay however companies will decide depending on their internal projections and no, we haven't seen a spike in terms of deals, hell, until this day from 2021 less than 15 deals and I will talk about this when the year is about to end.
Seriously, calm down and let things go the way they need to go, if a game goes EGS might be for something and not for a very good reason (when AAA, not indies, those fellas need more support and don't really mind getting the check)
Until they arrive on Steam or EGS gives them away for free*They're either deals that were signed long ago (Saints Row, Crysis, maybe Tiny Tina), part of Epic's Hail Mary attempt or Tim Sweeney being too stubborn to admit that he got his ass whipped by hyper-toxic pro consumer humorless trolls. Industries of Titan, a game that hurt two years ago when it went EGSclusive, is still in Early Access on Steam. Like, they still have a ways to go on their roadmap.Geoforce, don't get me wrong but when you see more than one exclusivity deal announced in the same month you tend to overreact and it's not what it's happening right now.

Same here. I'm always about the "final" release of a game anyway, so as long as I can play that when it's ready, I couldn't give two craps if they took Epic for a ride while they developed the game. Hades is a prime example of that.I'm cool with indies using EGS as an easier "Kickstarter."
It also circumvents the issue games have with launching the release version of an early access game. Many games in early access didn't really get massive hype for their 1.0 release (unless early access wasn't the fully game)Frankly, Early Access on EGS sounds like a way for developers to avoid actually making the final game exclusive while getting a payout from Epic regardless.
But i thought Epic won the case big as per PCGamerEarly Access?
They won right to pay Apple, $6 million. It's quite big.But i thought Epic won the case big as per PCGamer

A new Fortnite SKU is coming out soon (or maybe is already out in some regions) as it has a new bundle and some additions, sorry as I don't know anything else, just saw the usual movement in the social network and remembered.

You answered your own questionWonder what's going on, the devs are trying to implement EOS, but it's really difficulty? The devs just don't care about EGS?
I think it's rather because Epic's self publishing tools still aren't ready, and that the sole employee providing content for EGS hasn't enough time to release all requested/popular games.Wonder what's going on, the devs are trying to implement EOS, but it's really difficulty? I would think Epic would have personally helped NetEase getting the game on EGS considering how well it is doing on Steam,I think it's rather because Epic's self publishing tools still aren't ready, and that the sole employee providing content for EGS hasn't enough time to release all requested/popular games.

It was 17th on the US charts in its launch month, Tenth in the UK on its launch week, and sold 28k on Switch and PS4 combined in Japan on its launch week, and sold 3k the week after on Switch, while the PS4 version fell off the charts meaning it sold less than 2k.Wait it bombed on consoles?
