To quote a certain fictional psychopath, "A hobby's supposed to pass the time, not fill it".
Ultimately, videogames, like any hobby, are supposed to distract you, and provide you with an enjoyable time.
If you are not enjoying your time with a game, or start feeling any stress or "pressure" to do something videogames related, it's time to take a step back, and rethink your habits.
In my case, I always loved long games, in particular RPGs.
Now, the truth is the available time I have is frequently short, and even when I have time I frequently don't have any patience to play something "taxing", so what I find myself playing are arcade games, short games.
For example, I've mostly been playing:
-arcade games on Capcom Arcade Stadium;
-Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania
-Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron's Workshop
We frequently forget about it, but our time is limited, and it's a bit pointless when you waste some of it on hobbies, when you are not enjoying what you are doing. That's why I don't hesitate to drop a game, when it starts feeling like I'm forcing myself to continue, and not having a good time with it.
