So I have been playing Forza Horizon 5 for the past few hours and I am constantly experiencing issues like constant game freezes during the loading screen and constant disconnects. It's not really playable right now if you want to play with friends. The game itself is ... just fine. I mean, if someone likes racing games then he will love this game, but I feel like I am playing an expansion to FH4 rather than a sequel. Also, it doesn't help that I don't find Mexico an interesting location. I would say 50% of the map looks great and the other 50% is meh.

The very first review didn't inspire confidence at all.

And I was looking forward to this. :flare_pout:

One of my forever games! As long as XSEED keeps porting RF4, I'll keep buying it over and over again. No other "farming" game before or since has gotten the balance between farming/fighting/life sim elements so exactly balanced to my tastes.

And, this is late as hell, but thanks for making the new thread, lash! ❤

I cannot believe Netflix was beaten to the punch by Crab Game. The same Netflix who is launching a game service with 5 games and could use more titles to build out its catalog.

I have not watched Squid Game, and putting aside whether it matches the messaging of the show to make a game based on it, it makes me wonder how Netflix will approach its game output. Will it be proactive or reactive?

Additionally, I cannot imagine how Netflix will keep games included with current subscription fees while affording new games on top of securing content licenses and producing original shows for its TV/movie output. I imagine they will need to spin the game service into its own sub or increase their prices for all existing subs. Otherwise, I think the game service will be axed at some point in the future.

It reminds me of when Valve tried to get into video distribution. It seems like a logical step in broader digital distribution, but it ignores whether your audience even wants that from you and/or if they are already served somewhere else (and for better, cheaper, etc.).
I know it's not exactly the same but may I suggest X4: Foundations? We have a thread |OT| - X4: Foundations - In a galaxy (kinda) far far away (shameless self-promotion.) You can walk around space stations, pilot all the ships, build fleets, create space stations, etc. All in glorious offline singleplayer.
Thank you for pointing this out. I saw/knew of X2 and X3, I completely missed X4 was even released and it looks way more robust than the earlier games. Elite Dangerous is kinda fun, but it felt balanced around the online portion.

$60 for this... and hoping that Aksys will fix it...

Nope. Maybe on a big sale down the road someday.

Fatal Frame got a patch to allow mouse camera but I really don't see how one can make a comfortable MKB config for this game's clunky old school gamepad controls (on the surface it may seem like the Wii Silent Hill which would have been perfect with MKB but it's a very different beast, kinda like pre-4 Resident Evil but all its own style and quirks) even with all functions mappable. I tried (though the screen doesn't tell you what each thing does, you map gamepad buttons to keys, so I had to take a screenshot of the gamepad diagram elsewhere and then try to see what I'd map) and couldn't wrap my head around it, go for gamepad.

As far as I remember they never removed Denuvo from any of their games.
iirc they only removed the online-only requirement from few titles from the pre-Uplay "Ubisoft Game Launcher" era and few cases of removed Securom (ther was even case of them using warez scene crack in official patch)

As far as denuvo goes ... its just one fo the various DRM layers nowadays .... they generally use VMProtect on top of denuvo (which is iirc also cpuid dependent)

I was looking forward to play Due Process last night, it looks like a very decent Rainbow Six Siege clone with procedural maps. But there was literally no one online around 9pm, despite the game being part of the latest Humble Choice. Such a shame 😟

Similarly in FH4 I guess you would have finished the main game if you completed all races on the map once, but then there's the Endgame, the Festival Playlist, which resets every single week and rewards you with more cars etc. There are also online modes of course...

Really curious to see if SMTV will breaks the combo of good emulation in Ryujinx at day 1. I mean, it's surely another beast entirely than Metroid Dread or even Mario Party, time will tell.

mm, if there's already UE4 games on Switch that is already emulated on PC, i guess you could base it from there

although, there's some worry on this end, SMTV isn't quite as preformance-nice as I originally thought (still good but like, not 60 fps reaching)

Devs replied and are asking for more info, so that's not a bad sign. Maybe it'll actually get fixed.
