Good to know, I really miss her morning streams, she's usually what I watch before Pikamee streams, but I think I stopped for a bit when she played a ton of Apex lol, and she became inactive, was it mostly due to work?

I'd heard she'd been unwell and had either shut herself away or moved to a hotel to concentrate on getting better. I suspect like most mangaka she was working too hard, not taking care of herself, feeling guilty all of which led to a burnout. She might also have some underlying conditions which became troublesome but i don't know about that or if it was all stress induced.
She wants to start streaming more often but it will take a while so she may stream once a week for a while before doing more streams. She's going to concentrate on Vol #6 of her series and then see how she feels but she will be streaming, she loves it.
From what i picked up she hasn't streamed for 3 months and she's sorry about that.
She became ill, she said it was a chronic illness and she had no energy for anything, she got treatment, shut herself away from the internet while she recovered. She was working hard illustrating as that is her priority but she REALLY wanted to stream, she called it Streaming Therapy, and she had so many messages of support from people that it really helped keep her going and she's really appreciative of that.
She's sorry she missed her 200k celebration but she won't have a 200k stream because it's been too long and it doesn't feel right to her. She was shocked at how quickly she reached 200k, chat then were saying 300k next month, a million by summer and things like that but she was laughing and saying she doesn't want that, like at all. She was drinking non-alcoholic beer and she seemed REALLY happy to be sharing a beer with chat. When she had to leave, the chat were saying she's non-alcoholic drunk and laughing with her.
I'd say put the stream on in the background, it's a zatsudan stream so there's nothing going on but her chatting and interacting with chat in japanese and english. The first 15 minutes are a joy, you can tell she's happy to be back streaming and chatting with people. There may be more but it was early morning, i was fixing my mods in a game with the stream on in the background so i may have missed something.
From Shigure Ui's 3D reveal stream i think. Poor shuba-mama not as flexible as she thought. lol.

Oh god, i just bought the IRyS CD and 2x HoloX badges from GeekJack and because i'm an idiot i just had a look around at the items in their inventory sale and they have the Usada Pekora Plum Wine. Yeah I know streaming has been something she really enjoys and to de-stress from work, so sad to hear she wasn't able to the past several months. Hope she feels better and I don't think she should stress herself out about not streaming, since it's more about her health and their audience probably just want her to feel better and have fun with the hobby.

"Gift Subs" occur all the time in Twitch. If you're watching the stream and someone decides to donate subs instead of bits then the subs are randomly distributed. Actually, i think the person who donated can specify criteria for gifted subs but i've never bothered looking it up tbh.

Sad that this stuff even has to be said. But can't say I'm too surprised since Cover Corp. tubers started as and to a degree still behave as "Idols." And that's got a long and documented history of toxicity from fans and management all by itself. And since the Holo Girls are basically the face of Vtubing... it's not too surprising the idol subculture bleeds out all over Vtubing.
Calli is very professional about it here... I really wonder how much she wishes she could just cut loose and tell these people to fuck off though. Honestly, that's one of the things I've found refreshing about exploring other V-Streamers. For example: Veibae will tell people right where to stick it, and idk, it's like "damn girl, good for you!" Cuz they really don't deserve some of the stuff that is flung their way a lot of these streamers...
I do really worry about how much toxicity and stuff gets thrown at the Youtube girls. Most famously there is the case of Hachaama and Kson, but I've seen it also in the start Kronii was getting hit hard with it (her very first member streams covered it and how she was struggling to adjust.) Isn't Fubuki still harassed a lot too? And Kiara gets a lot of hate also... It's worrying. And if you listen to them talk, it really seems like their only support is each other/genmates.

Going to need moderators. The chit chats I watched of Calli were really good when I watched back then, sad to see it's come to this, I always get the vibe that some of them want to distant themselves from idol culture on the EN side, but hard when they're really huge. One of the things I love about vtubers is the interactions so I hope the toxicity doesn't bleed into other smaller communities. Even when some people don't have bad intentions, they can overdo it and it could easily snowball down into something toxic especially with new viewers, because internet.

ALL of the VTubers on Youtube and Twitch get hate. They get hate in their Twitter DMs and on Facebook too. Hell, everyone in a vaguely public facing position gets hate. People are dicks and there are lots of people with anger or attachment issues out there or just straight up trolls, edgelords and just people who don't like what you've done or said.
You just get to see very little of it as a viewer.
If i was Calli i wouldn't have said anything, i would just take the money and not read their Supas. Let them work it out while throwing money at you.

I know Fubuki and Matsuri did when people complained about their collabs with male vtubers. They made it clear that if you thought like that then they didn't want you to watch them anymore regardless of how many superchats you sent.
In chat the other day 99% of KFP told Kiara to collab with whoever she wants to and if people don't like it they can fuck off after she asked if it was okay if she did a sponsored stream with a male vtuber. It took me back just how reticent she was about asking but chat's response made me realise that not all supporters are idiots.
It also made me remember how HoloID and especially HoloEN have it much easier than HoloJP on the Idol Culture situation. HoloID made sure to collab with HoloStars early on as if to say "We like looking good and having fun but we're going to collab with male vtubers when we want to so deal with it."
It's not limited to Youtube either VShojo have just recently had a lot of drama and things were learnt on both sides. Also sometimes topics cannot be mentioned as they are part of an active investigation sometimes with law enforcement involvement. So although it seems like nothing is happening we do not know what is going on behind the scenes.
Luckily the communities of the streamers i watch most often seem to be really cool and supportive and even though some of them are young they get the issue of parasocial relationships and how supporting someone is just that and has no obligation on their side or implies any other kind of relationship. They entertain us and we give them money to support them. That's it. Trolls get the boot pretty quickly and regulars who get a little excited or grumpy get a time out or other people in chat tell them to calm down a bit and that works 90% of the time.

I think most viewers with "Idol Culture" come from countries/cultures with such ideas already engrained into them or they are some form of weeb who oddly thinks it's a good thing, probably because they haven't understood the downsides of the system and way of thinking or don't care as they are too far gone.
I feel like, at least with the EN Vtubers I mostly watch, the whole "idol" thing is used in a satirical manner at least 95% of the time (when it is mentioned at all). Of the other 5%, 4.9 percentage points are cases where people just want to express appreciation or surprise at the streamer doing some "idol-like" thing, e.g. singing very well. And only the remainder is actually problematic.

Saruei started Bloodborne today which was pretty fun. I've never seen Bloodborne myself, except screenshots and my only Souls experience is DS1. (Which I only consider to be "ok,") It's atmospheric, and has nice consistent style. I know people complain about the Chromatic Aberration also but i kinda like it lol. Now I get why everyone wants this on PC though!!

She said her schedule for Youtube will be 1 day time YT stream during weekdays, and she'll be streaming on Twitch for the other day time streams.
Pika's schedule is usually 1 or 2 streams per day during weekdays, and usually do long youtube streams on weekends, so what this means is probably she'll do mostly twitch streams during the day on weekdays, if she takes a day off she'll probably have 3 twitch streams per week, makes sense.

She even called out the Lurkers and TONS of people popped up to say "Hi", it was awesome. Really going to miss her, i've downloaded a bunch of her streams in the last week or so in case her channel is taken down soon after graduation. Also pulled out chat logs for a bunch of them too.
We're getting some juicy behind the scenes knowledge from Sumi and Non too as we rewatch Sumi's debut.
