Tencent doesn't own Epic.
-.- it isn't my infograph

and yeah, factually true
But it doesn't work like that in reality.
There are stories of persons or groups of investors successfully demanding or changing company policy who only hold 1 or 2% of said company.
Sure, Epic is still majorly held by Timmy, but if Tencent wants something done with Epic, they will get it.

There is no point including that only for Tencent because they own shares in 100s of companies. They own Ubisoft shares too. Title says Wo owns what and only Tencent has partially owned things on the list.

The info graphic is also wrong in that MS don't own Activision yet. Granted given the past ~40 years of US oversight, the expectation is that it will be approved, but in recent months the administration has at least talked about not just waving through all acquisitions anymore, and this is one that may actually get scrutinized, although it's still had to believe the government will actually step in to stop capitalism ever given... everything

Speaking of capitalism, reposting one time that if anyone wants 1-2 of the options from this Fanatical bundle, I get 2 choices for free. I'm taking the Skautfold packs + Fictorum. Just message or reply. Otherwise I'll pick two and give them away here anyway.

I bought a mid-tier capture card to (hopefully) play my Switch on my PC with audio. No intent to stream or anything, literally just wanna play my Switch (with audio) on my PC in a window. Hopefully i can figure it out...

Before anyone asks why I don't just HDMI it to my second monitor, my monitors don't have speakers. 😓

I don't think you need to worry about that. Atmosphère 1.2.6 (released yesterday) already has support for the latest official firmware 13.2.1

Definitely check out Nintendo Homebrew server for the guide since they are constantly getting updated if there are any changes.
Could you PM me about this server? Just a starting point. I've got the Switch, I've got tons of physical games, i'd love to figure out how to dump them if I can with my Switch that is current firmware.

People joke and all but Valve needs to step their acquisition game up too before Tencent/Microsoft wind up owning everyone. And you know other big companies like Amazon, Facebook and Apple are getting ready to go on a shopping spree.

GabeN should have a big enough warchest buy some good devs teams.

Ubisoft actually launched game yesterday that almost nobody talks about today. Hell GoW has more viewers on Twitch.
I think the last showing they did with it over the summer looked really bad and pretty much killed any hype for the game. The bland shooting, boring enemies and jank stood out too much. All the NFT and Xdefiant shit they did this past year won't help for their marketing either.

Boooo. I have the apparently very common memory leak in God of War. Great port.... if you ignore that how long you can play depends on how much RAM you have. Us poor folk with just 16 GB.

Still having fun with it, but keeping an eye when the RAM usage goes above 14GB does get annoying.

Well, since I just got my booster shot I will probably be out of commission tomorrow so maybe someone will come up with something for when I go back to playing it (yeah... right ... )
you may get your wish. There is an experimental branch on Steam with a hot fix for the out of memory error.

Playing through Dicey Dungeons. Good stuff. Not the best deckbased roguelike Ive played, but it's fun. Gonna play through the episodes then call it quit. Also called it quit on Ring of Pain, finished both endings. There are a lot fun card roguelikes, just noone is as good as Slay the Spire. Feel like I play them until the ending and then I quit, but Slay the Spire can be played until forever for me.
Yeah, Slay the Spire truly is the best. Been playing a bit of Monster Train recently and while it's very fun, it only made me feel like booting up StS again.

This is going to make me sound like a massive dick but that Ravensoft QA union is like 90% not going anywhere since they're an at will state (can be terminated for no reason) and QA gets around 14$ an hour so they're making a bit more than what you get at starbucks for the area according to google which is like 12.50

You're basically the bottom rung of everything unless you're the QA Manager or QA Lead (Essentially sub manager) assuming you're not just hired there via contract for X amount of time (Generally the length of time needed for the game, which they can just give you a new contract to extend out if they need more time)

It's very rare and or difficult to get hired as a full time position as QA that isn't a time contract just because of how easy it is to find new people

(I worked at a videogame company for a couple of years and QA was the first people to get the boot and everything dumped on manager/lead along with it getting pushed to outsourced QA company instead of inhouse)

I have the Genki Shadowcast and the App is bobbins so depending on how good the software for your card is you may want to try using MPVIO player.
With the Shadowcast you have to use mono-to-stereo because of the way the chipset interleaves audio but you may not have to do that.

Here's the cmd file i use. You might not need to use the "--no-audio" option.
Echo "Start MPV Shadowcast No Audio..."
Start "MPV ShadowCast" "%~dp0mpv-x86_64-20210509-git-ea89e81\mpv.exe" av://dshow:video="ShadowCast" --profile=low-latency --untimed --no-audio
Basically get MPVIO, FFMpeg & mono-to-stereo from toadking on github. put them in a folder, open a command prompt, type...
.\ffmpeg.exe -f dshow -list_devices true -i dummy
This will show your direct-show devices that you tell MPV to connect to. For me it looks like this for video and audio.
Start "MPV ShadowCast" "%~dp0mpv-x86_64-20210509-git-ea89e81\mpv.exe" av://dshow:video="ShadowCast":audio="Digital Audio Interface (2- ShadowCast)" --profile=low-latency --untimed --audio-channels=stereo
You may not need to do ANY of this but if the app that comes with the card isrubbish, give this a whirl.

Unfortunately that patch has been rolled out to the main branch and while it may have fixed it for 12th gen Intel CPUs, it doesn’t appear to have done anything for the rest. Judging by the size of the Steam forum thread it still is a big problem.

I’m still hoping for a fast patch, but memory leaks can be a real pain to nail down.

Wow, and here I thought I literally had thrown away money by getting 32GB of RAM a little while back.

Patch for Vampire Survivors:

2 new achievements!
Ugh even indies aren't safe. They added NFT as well.

In commemoration of the 35th (day) anniversary of the Vampire Survivors release on Steam,
we decided to jump on the hottest trends in gaming and release our own NFT.

From game patch 0.2.9, the Nduja Fritta Tanto can randomly drop from candles/braziers to add 10 spicy seconds to your runs. Terrible pun, great item.

Quite a few games are listed in the wrong place in that chart, like Life is Strange (should be on Square Enix), The Outer Worlds (Microsoft owns the IP now, not Take Two), Unreal Tournament (Epic Games), and probably more.
Also, I feel like putting Embracer down at "tier 3" level massively misrepresents its relative size compared to other entries.

100% accurate.

Fun fact: we used imgui in the development of the Nayuta no Kiseki PC port.

My eyes would bleed if it wasn't so smooth.
(4K with 8x multi-frame sampled SSAA downsampled to 1440p with DLDSR)

I kinda hope the DLDSR tech becomes available for developers to use in their games, for in-game resolution scaling. Genshin would look really nice with it, I think.

Given the scrutiny and eyeballs on the company from all angles right now, it would be bad look to dump those workers even in an at-will state. I think

Most contracts for QA that I know of were 8 to 12 months so they can just let their contracts run out since I don't think they'd have 34 full time hourly QA employees, they wouldn't even have to fire them
I think it's all kind of up in the air anyways but alot of it is just guessing so who knows really

So Hitman 3 basically had disaster of a launch on Steam. Well I guess that free market has spoken.
What is so silly is it should have been an easy slam dunk for them. Just release the game with less confusing packages. Throw a 10-20% launch discount, if you own the other Hitman games, add another 10% loyalty or something. Space out the Gamepass and Steam release by like a week to account for any issues on your server loads.

Had they done these things, it probably would have been received a bit better other than the fact the VR mode still seems to have a lot of issues and the unresolved bugs in the main game, but I think it would have still landed at a higher CCU, 80-90% review score, and most importantly, a lot more sales.

Their entire Year 2 content so far is also disaster. Elusive Target Arcade is garbage, PCVR one of the worst, RayTracing wasn't ready for release, server issues...

If your customers have to develop a flow chart to try and figure out what version of a game you need to buy, then your marketing department have messed up and your publisher has gotten too gready. Except there isn't even a publisher to blame here.

It's not a UI framework for producing applications, instead it just outputs vertex buffer (basically the raw info needed to render stuff pixel-by-pixel on screen). This allows it to be easily hooked into any rendering engine, and very quickly create things like in-game menus for debugging. In a way, it's the opposite of a "big framework" like Qt, it's very lightweight with no external dependencies.
I think the menus in ReShade use Dear ImGUI, so most people probably have seen what it looks like from that.

With all of these MP games kinda underperforming did market finally reached saturation?
History repeating itself here...
Everyone wants to have an MMORPG, because it could be "the next WOW"...
Everyone wants their own multi-player FPS game... It could be the next Doom/Quake/Unreal/Counterstrike/Call of duty/Battlefield etc....
Everyone wants their own battle royale game, it could be the next PUBG/Fortnite/whatever.
Repeat for Among us clones, Fall guys clones etc....

Time is a flat circle indeed. The same pattern has repeated the last 20-25 years.

I'll leave this here, it's long and rather technical at the beginnging, just a dude sitting there talking, but he hits all the important points including cryptobros shilling for NFTs and shit. Spoiler warning: It won't make you less angry about the whole situation.

Also watch his other videos, no matter the subject.

So, according to this, if I own Hitman 1 and 2, with the main destinations, and I buy the Standard Edition, I can just play those missions in Hitman 3 again?
Theoretically you should be able to play the 1 and 2 locations in the free demo, but apparently they fucked it up. (I think because they made it a demo instead of free package like the Hirman 2 Starter Pack)
