Didn't have the bible in that level 70 run, had:
  • the base lance
  • arcane shot
  • cross boomerang
  • lightning ring
  • axe
  • the passive that extend pickuprange
  • spinach
  • the duration book
  • the + projectile book
  • and finally the invulnerability orb


With that setup most mobs didn't even get to me because they were killed far away and after level 50 I basically had a projectile in every direction.
I picked up the XP when I was invulnerable
fun fact: when you maxed out your skills, you get +30 health or +25 gold every level

Right now, I think the strongest setup is King's Bible + Spellbinder + Magic Wand + Empty Tome. The super-version of the King's Bible is comically OP, and since the Magic Wand always targets the closest enemies (e.g. anyone who made it past the ring), it's all but guaranteed to push them back out.

I think Iselda might be the strongest character right now, because the bonus exp helps smooth over difficulty spikes and she starts with the Magic Wand. Her exp boost might stop helping in the late game, but none of the current content is dangerous enough for that to matter if you get the Bible+Wand setup going.

I really don't like the LiS remaster character designs. Sure, the facial animations are better but Kate looks dead, not sad. They gave Max more pronounced makeup, made Warren less dorky and generally the painterly quality to it all has been lost. Not really a clear upgrade from my perspective.

Same. I don't like the new look as well. The new makeup of Max is beyond weird compared with the original.

That's a game I've never heard about before! I missed so many games from that era as I didn't had a console and neither a gaming PC during that generation.

Someone at reddit made a graph showing how big Activision Blizzard is compared to other studios that Microsoft owns by number of employees. It's insane that only King is bigger than entire XBox Game Studios

I quite like Mordecai, an extra projectile every 20 levels, capped at 3. It means I no longer bother with the wristband that gives you an extra projectile.

But yeah the combo of Bible/Missiles is quite powerful.

This month looks packed. Elden Ring, TWWH 3, DL2, Lost Ark and Steam Deck for those of you lucky enough. I'm 100% getting Elden Ring but on the fence for Lost Ark since I think it might be a bit grindy and lack of OCE servers.

For Vampire Survivors I pretty much have a strategy that works out most of the time. For characters I think everyone might be sleeping on Porta (Lightning Ring). Porta starts with 90% cooldown reduction which doesn't go away until you level up, so what I do is stay in one spot and dodge the mobs/exp for a minute. After that you run and collect EXP which gives you a pretty strong early game. Iselda is always a good pick because of EXP gain. Arca is good because of his talent. Mordecai feels like a bait. Extra projectiles sound amazing but I think you need a strong early game and the bone isn't the greatest weapon.

After that it's pretty much planning out my inventory slots and trying to get the upgraded versions of the Bible, Bird, Magic Wand, Axe/Fire Wand. The upgraded bird is hard to get and makes you have a weak early game but if you get it your late game is pretty much secure.

Is anyone playing Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel? As a yugi-boomer who played back when the anime was on with Yugi and his crew there was are way too many new mechanics. WHAT IS A PENDULUM? I ended up making a Sky Strikers (Mecha waifus) deck and played ranked until I got a good grasp of all the new mechanics (except pendulum). Game is enjoyable but not sure how many decks I can make with the F2P gems they give out. Might look at making a Dragonmaid deck next or a Gren Maju meme deck.

I didn't realize Blizzard required such a big staff.
I'd like to see how it stands to the non-game sections of Microsoft as well, but that might occur in time, if the FTC gives it the green light

maybe customer service is included in this? When my guildmate worked as a GM (glorified customer service) they were hundreds of people just for WoW

I think they removed it a while ago, or put it somewhere so obscure I have been unable to find it.
According to their FAQ unlock time is in an hour though.

better than the last few bundles but probably gonna pass, I think Paradise Lost is the only game there that more than mildly interests me

Lmao Borderlands 3. Hard pass... Guess that's truly it for Humble Choice then. I'd say it was fun while it lasted but let's be honest. It has been mostly shit for the past year or so. Also losing that 20% discount means I'm just less likely to use the Humble store at all now. Wonder how this is gonna work out for them lol.

Decisions, decisions.
Taken at face value this looks pretty good for Borderlands 3, Black Book and Everhood. Taking a closer look at Borderlands 3 though, it's the base game and none of the bundles on the Steam page are "complete your collection", so if you end up liking it you'll have to buy the entire Ultimate edition or whatever it is called again anyways, so meh. I also don't think I enjoy Borderlands anymore, so double meh.

Not sure if worth it for the other 2 games. I guess I'll cancel and see if they'll give me a 6$ coupon or something. I'll need to cancel now anyway, cause the "grandfather" dollar price is now more expensive than the new € price, lmao.

Still in my busy season of work until probably end of February and possibly early March... :confounded-face:

Part of me wants to start looking casually for a new job, but there are a lot of reasons that is probably not worth it for at least another year or year and a half.

I'll probably only buy Warhammer 3 this month, the rest is for the next steam sale.

Humble Choice is hard pass for me. I'm getting nauseous while playing games made by Randy Pitchford. 🤢

Edit: so I actually lost my 20% discount by pausing a month. Well, f*ck you too Humble! 😡

I also noticed I'm still subscribed to the classic membership at $12, while the new plan is €9.99. Why haven't they moved me to the new plan automatically?

I know it's a little thing, but I'm kind of bothered that Humble removed the "Manage your plan" option that was directly on the Bundle page and now you have to make the additional click on "Settings" in the user menu.

Sure doesn't inspire a lot of confidence if one of the steps on your revamp plan is "hide the option to stop paying" :p

How much are the pause discounts in € usually? I'm guessing 2 or 3?

Did you buy last month's bundle or did you pause? Reading on steamgift.com I see that someone wasn't offered any discount when trying to pause
