I'm not really arguing, its reputation is really shitty.

The Dark Descent and Rebirth are much closer connected than either of those with MFP – MFP had one contrived connection, I think, that was it, otherwise it was fairly standalone.
And it really isnt good. I dont like to shit on games, generally, but MFP is bascially a walking simulator made by people (thechineseroom) who vastly overestimate their writing talent, and therefore focus their games competely on story. but thats the kicker: the story is a complete snoozer, and the writing is just...meh?
gameplay in MFP is a total afterthought and miniscule. the game's short, boring, its not scary at all... it really shouldnt carry the Amnesia name. thankfully Frictional made Rebirth to balance the series out a bit

Justine = nice
MFP = garbage
Rebirth = servicable


now I hope that someone will redeem the Wolfenstein series after the Youngblood fiasco. Thats another game I have nothing good to say about

Feel like I've been bumbling around for a while now trying to find my next big time-sink.

Think I may have finally homed in on a nice candidate. Tomato strikes again, unearthing the gems and draining my bank account in the process.

I've heard Realms described as Terraria meets RuneScape/Skyrim. I think that fits well as it combines the crafting & building of Minecraft-likes with deep rpg leveling and npc-directed questing. It's a nice mix.

Presentation overall feels charming with goofy marionette-like character animations. Lots of graphic detail giving the world a lush feel. Soundtrack is ace.

Feels like there's a lot of meat on the bone with this one. Thumbs up so far.

China has started approving games for sale again after a 9 month freeze. As to how this relates to Steam, it may mean that the government might finally clamp down and close access. The Steam store has existed in a grey area for years, but was able to be easily accessed even without a VPN. Around last Christmas, it was reported that users couldn't easily access the store any more. As far as I know, just from reading poorly machine translated Chinese forums and looking at Great Fire Wall status sites, it hasn't been an outright ban, but users can't easily access the store without a VPN any more due to time outs. A potential ban would be a body blow to the platform as China makes up around 25% of the total userbase. It'll be interesting (and scary!) to see how it plays out.

People have been expecting China to close access to Steam for the last 10 years. Chinese users don't care anyhow as they just use VPN regardless, I have read for many years that Chinese users have used VPN also when they didn't need to.

It will either happen or not, no point in speculating.

LEANIJA I have balls of steel (or I'm just super dumb) so I launched it. The game is blown up and expands past my 1440p screen no matter what I try. 1080p seem to do the job. Great start. I'm in the mood.

It will either happen or not, no point in speculating.

Elden Ring ate Forbidden West's lunch, just like how Breath of the Wild ate Zero Dawn's lunch in 2017. I rented Forbidden West but sent it back after a few hours since I just wasn't in the mood for another open world game after finishing Elden Ring.

It's just that ultimately, the first game did not exactly compel enough people who played it into wanting a sequel. Same grim fate that Deus Ex and Dishonored found themselves struck with.

after seeing a lot of memes about it, and to get my mood up after i (probably) failed an assignment for the first time in my life, i tried out metal gear rising

i had tried playing it with a keyboard and mouse years ago, but after seeing the prophetic light that is "use a fucking controller you mindlet", i found out that i kinda like the game, but it's heavily overrated
the game is just so short, we're talking i'm at the final boss already by 4 hours and 12 minutes, and not only that, i dont think there is a lot of replay value except for an OP sword and some difficulties, and then there's damage sponge enemies like that gorilla type guy, it honestly feels like a prequel of mgsv:gz to me because they're of similar length, THAT is how short mgr is for me

If you want to invest time in it all you have is to attempt and master the mechanics on higher difficulties, it's a lot like Bayonetta in that way, if a bit less polished and shorter. I wouldn't say it's overrated, it's not Plaitnum's best/doesn't match up to DMC either but it's better than their Transformers and other lower end stuff.

I mean sure, you might have liked DXHR enough to buy DXMD, but at the end of the day we know that DXHR's Meme-Magic and mainstream success did not translate into success for its sequel, same as all the people who bought Dishonored because of the deceptive "From the makers of Skyrim" marketing (I'm fairly certain I'm not Mandela-Effecting on that) that didn't buy Dishonored 2.

Fuck, I want to live in a world where an Immersive Sim can find success as a Franchise and not a One Hit Wonder. Both Dishonored and the Deus Ex prequels had worthy successors, as did System Shock back in the day. OG Deus Ex being stillborn as a Franchise is the only one that makes sense with how much of a cockup Invisible War was. But that was a bad sequel alienating loyal fans, not just fickle gamers not caring about a sequel.

When Tsukihime remake was relased, Kinoko Nasu said he’d like the tsukihime remake to be released in English. Somebody should let him know Steam is available in Japan, and games can be released in just japenese, chinese, or so like many chinese games are just relesed without english language.
I would love to get native PC Steam versions of them. The hell, original Type-Moon games were released first on PC. : ( during Comiket season.
I bought Tsukihime on Switch eshop (because Z games need a japanese VISA to be bought on PS4 Store because of age verification, cannot be bought with a gift card). The only way to play them on PC is with yuzu/ryujinx emu. Relese them on Steam in japanese, fans will translate them for free like they did with all original dojinshi editions.

Most likely cause GU needed significantly less of an update to look good on modern hardware. It's also less menu-y than the original games. The original games are pretty ugly graphically even by PS2 standards at times.

Nasu says a lot of stuff, and people like to take it a bit too literally imho.

Imho a better question would be if Sony Music/Aniplex is willing to localize it (and this case port it) because any localization would come from them as I see it, but that's my opinion might as well be wrong.
The fate extra remake website is also in english but until something materialize I wouldn't get my hopes up too much.
