Remember the fiasco of XIII Remake?

Well, I thought Microids gave up on the game but it seems I was wrong and they decided to handle the game to another studio in which it seems to lead into a remake of the previous failed remake?

At least it can't get worse I guess.

Someone should remind Bamco that they -Banpresto- have an IP called Magna Carta and that I would like a third installment of and by the way a remaster of the second part that is stuck in 360 would not be bad either. ❤ Hyung-tae Kim designs.

Just picked up a copy on Xbox in hopes the update is a good turn-around (I have the original on PC)

What did we do to deserve having Mario + Rabbids Spark of Hope, Midnight Sun, and Persona 5 Royal within the same month? Star Ocean, Gotham Kngihts, A Plague Tale, Forspoken, too, for those people who are getting them at release. This is ridiculous.

The character models for Star Ocean 6 are so weird. Like dolls. Like they're missing skin overlay textures. (Specular maps?) It looks like low poly, early PS2 gen face structure. :thinking-face:
They should've kept the older look for the characters. Seems to me they deviate from the original design too freely.

Yeah.... The art is fine, great even. The realization of those designs in game however... 😓
Tri-Ace is so weird like this.

When they do CGI and tech demos, they nail it. But when it comes time to make an actual game...? Where the fudge do their ArtStaff and Chief Tech directors hide?

I'm sure that I've already said this but I will say this again. Sony Inzone is weird. On one hand it sounds like a cool idea that Sony is doing that but on the other hand I don't think Sony will do a good job at it and deliver what people on PC want.

I think they will be good products but not great PC gamer products.

Right now it seems like I am the audience that they are aiming for since I use my PC and my game consoles on the same monitor and that in itself has issues. 2 HDMI 2.1 is good If you have just a XSX and a PS5 but what if you also have a Switch. Then you would need a splitter and I doubt there are any good splitters right now for HDMI 2.1 that also work great with VRR. I could be wrong.

One of the things that I really really hope that Sony works on is an audio solution for having a gaming PC and also video game consoles. I don't use a headset an instead I use speakers. Logitech has several gaming speakers and several non gaming speakers. It would be cool if they could do a 5.1 speaker system that would work with PC and consoles.

The Logitech gaming speakers I had were nice but I had to buy extra stuff to get the audio from my game consoles to work on the speakers. They were pretty cool speakers actually but sadly I don't really use them now because of my current audio setup.

There are gaming sound bars from what I remember but it would just be better in some cases to have physical speakers as well.

There is just a lot of issues with it and I hope that Sony can figure something out.

Yeah I'm gonna be getting plague tale, mario rabbids, midnight suns, forspoken, gotham knights and probably star ocean. I want P5 on PC but depending on the price that'll probably wait for a sale.

It's frustrating how like 4-6 months of this year were virtually empty and then october comes around and there's 600 games. Learn to space this stuff out industry.

I wish the JRPG book was being sold in pdf only. Heresy I know, but I’m more interested in the content than the object anyway.
Fashionably late to this, as usual, but I really do wish this was possible. I would love to get some of these books but they're expensive, and also heavy which makes shipping expensive... and then I live in a country with utterly insane import duties. 40% of the value of the items and shipping is charged as import duties. It is fucking crazy that I have to pay taxes on shipping ffs.

Here's an example; I put in an order for the Elden Ring guide books on Amazon. They're currently being sold for $30 each (which is a nice discount on the regular price of $50). So the 2 books cost $60. And here's what I will have to pay for them

$60 becomes $120 FML. And the icing on the cake is that our currency exchange rate is at an all time low against the dollar :surrenderblob:

These are collectibles so it's not like I'd want them any other way, but some books I would definitely prefer a Kindle/PDF version.

"Fans" continue to ruin everything, I see.

I feel so bad for Ron and his team. Imagine you're Ron. You wait 20 years to finally get to make the sequel your fans have been dreaming of... Something no one thought would ever happen! And then a very vocal part of that group shows up to shit on it every time you talk about it.

The art style reminds me of cubist paintings, like Picasso or Braque a bit. I am not saying that's where the inspiration of it comes from now, no clue, but I am saying the weird and strange look is very interesting and novel in this medium.

It's pretty funny that so many (capital G) "Gamers" get angry when people doubt that games are art. But if a developer actually challenges your expectations of how a game should look or work? Well, let's pick up our pitchforks and burn them at the stake, I guess. The gaming audience continues to be the most consistent source of embarrassment in this medium.

I’m not going to pretend I love the Return to Monkey Island art style, but having rewatched the trailer I already like it more than my first impressions.

But I also have unswerving faith in Ron Gilbert’s vision for Monkey Island and the Gamerz moaning about this should just not buy the game if they feel so passionate about it.
