As part of the backlog blitz I've been playing edge of eternity on steam and it's...not good. The way the game plays and how jank the presentation is gives the impression of piranha bytes trying to make a jrpg, best way I can describe it.

If anything it's given me a new appreciation for the actual low budget jrpg series out there that I previously thought were too rough around the edges. Stuff like star ocean or tales of (before Arise).

Doesn't sound very decentralized to me. :shrugblob:

The trailer makes the update feel small... but when you start to look at all the features and keep scrolling further and further down the page, it's got a lot of great stuff in it!
I saw the cliffnotes of the patch before the trailer and yea the trailer sells it short. To be honest this looks like the thing the game was missing for me that I didn't even realize - I'm pretty hyped for this. More space quality, more ship life, less janky landing on planets to scan around for 10 minutes randomly. That said I don't know why the heck they won't make the backdrop of space actually black, when I mod it, all their effects look SO much better than the "blue" space they have going on.

So square enix can't even do proper NFT?
As far as I've seen, most NFTs have actually been very centralized. A fair number of them have been lost due to the central authority going down or being hacked or just absconding with the money. It doesn't matter since they're a grift either way, but this is "normal" NFT nonsense.

After watching The Last of Us Part 1 leaked gameplay I can only say, please don't buy that game on PC for 70$/80€.
It looks beautiful in terms of graphics (although some RT would have been great). I'll definitely buy it when it reaches $40 as I have played it on PS3 and then again with the remaster on PS4 so this would be my 3rd time buying it.

I can imagine if you have never played it before especially if you don't have a console it would be very tempting to get it when it launches as it is an amazing experience.

Anyone experiencing super high CPU use with Steam these days ? The client is laggy as fuck and sometimes unresponsive, and when I open Task manager I often see 70% CPU for 1-2 seconds.

I have no idea what the issue is. I noticed that when I installed the Steel Series app recently, but I also uninstalled it immediately after getting the key I wanted.

The lag is clearly noticeable when creating and naming custom groups.

On a related note, I have 5 tabs open in Firefox and it nearly uses 1go of ram.

edit
Hmm, I shall begin by nuking this POS Google Drive, so much disk usage for an unreliable service.

Try dousing the pc in oil and setting it on fire, it might help fix the issue

I'm not buying any Sony games anytime soon.
I'm not even halfway done with the Summer seal purchases + Sunbreak and next week Digimon Survive releases.
And instead of playing those I'm more or less busy enough with just playing Genshin since the current update is meaty as hell and even meatier updates are on the horizon :sweaty-blob:

Just don't buy them on day1 and save!
Im very picky with what games I buy these days due to lack of time, backlog and other responsibilities I have in my life, only games I know 100% I will play and fairly soon, are games I buy, so I won't have a big issue with paying 60$ for certain games, like the Sony games I mentioned.

A nice example is Stray. I pre-ordered it because I decided I would play it in the week of launch and today I finished it.

What authenticator app do you all use?
I use Google, but might change. Their one new feature in years that I liked (Hide all codes, tap to reveal) has been removed a week later lol
I use Bitwarden. Its open source. They got TOTP support if you upgrade to premium (10 dollar\yr)
Microsoft authenticator is a decent alternative if you trust big corp.

EDIT: Aegis Authenticator seems good
Authy for me. I can sync my codes between multiple devices. With Google authenticator, if you need to migrate to another device, you will need to manually reenable 2FA for all of your websites and services.

EDIT. I heard Aegis is pretty good too.

Google added the option to migrate from one device to another but I'm not sure how it works since I think It fully wipes the source device.

saying there is a game called Prostitute Simulator just has been released on Steam.
Thanks

Can I have Steam launch automatically into the activity page? I like seeing folks screenshots and purchases etc

all it does is display a qr code, so you're shit outta luck if you've just got one device

I was planning on getting it on ps5 but after the leaks yesterday I changed my mind. It didn't look different at all and now it seems clear to me that when ND said the gameplay was enhanced or whatever they were being sly and referencing slightly tweaked shooting mechanics or maybe the gyro support it has. It's misleading as hell and I expected better from them.

:( None of our business, but still sad to see this
This sucks. I get that the PS5 version will include all the DLCs not included with the PS4 version, but there are plenty of ways they could work around this to give PS4 owners the PS5 version:
  • Discount the PS5 version depending on whether you own the game and how much DLC you own.
  • Give PS4 owners the DLC they don't yet own and then give them the PS5 version as an upgrade.
  • Give customers who own the PS4 version + all DLC the PS5 version for free.

That said, as a counterbalance, they're not really giving much to PS4 owners who do upgrade to PS5 so it's not like you're missing out if you stick with the previous gen version. About the only extra you're getting is 60fps vs 30fps on a game that probably won't hugely benefit from the jump in framerate. The game is already 4K on PS4 Pro/PS5 and there's no new content in the port, so I suspect most PS4 owners will just stick with the PS4 version.

As for physical versions, has physical Xbox versions been ruled out in the West, because this looks like a Japan-only thing, which makes sense.
