Three games currently on Game Pass (The Ascent, A Plague Tale, Mind Scanners), one that just left Game Pass a few days ago (Omno), and one that was a freebie on EGS a few months back (In Sound Mind). Makes this an easy skip decision for me. If you haven't already played them elsewhere, though, A Plague Tale and Omno are good, and heard mostly good things about Mind Scanners and In Sound Mind. Tried The Ascent and didn't much like it, though.

I think at this point, the non-Choice Humble game bundles, like the adventure one from the other day, are generally better values than Humble Choice. Wasn't always the case.

Literally every game in this bundle was on my wishlist, since I don't want to use EGS and prefer not to bother with the often terrible game pass experience on PC. I got €2 discount as well for trying to pause, so I can't be more happy 😁

I bought Omno for almost full price on Steam and already played it but it's on of my GOTY picks for sure. It's a small scope (3-4 hours), but it really nails the joy of exploration and just being out in the world for me. It won't resonate that way with everyone but it's an easy recommend as part of a bundle for sure.

Not quite sure what we're going to play through this week and we're starting in just 10 minutes!

But we'll figure something out I'm sure. :cuteblob:

Also be on the lookout for the August co-op update later tonight! I should have that done sometime after I finish streaming.

PossiblyPudding is streaming, so feel free to join and hang around the chat.

Some will say it makes perfect sense for AMD to push devs to scale down their ray-traced ambitions but with RDNA 3 being presumably a huge (rumors assert >2x) perf uplift in RT I'm surprised. The Callisto Protocol will be out in December and so will RDNA 3 GPUs (at least one sku).
Hybrid RT shadows can look great anyway (HFTS: Hybrid Frustum-Traced Shadows in ``The Division'' (cwyman.org) ) but the question is : will they be hardware-accelerrated on Nvidia GPUs ?

Last few weeks? Man it feels like I've been experiencing whiplash from increasingly poor regional pricing decisions for the last few years :negative-blob:
I mean, yeah, I've been complaining about regional pricing getting killed since I joined this forum, but these past few weeks have been especially rough. There has been increases almost every single day recently.

Wow the Steam Deck is just very very versatile. I'm glad that I didn't get mine at launch since some of the stuff I'm going right now may have not even been possible back then.

It's just something else. The fan is spinning like crazy but I mean it is doing 60fps in a very intense lewd game right now that also makes the fans on my home PC spin like crazy.

I saw Alpha Beta Gamer or whoever demo video on both Leaden Sky and HyperViolent

and both games made me feel dirty and the worst.

Leaden Sky is like how Godspeed You! Black Emperor would develop a game that is like a modern shooter with side scrolling action game and it is so dire and fucking dark in terms of content, just getting into fireights with other mercs just feels dehumanizing and just awful. That combat is good but O H M Y G O D I just wouldn't buy that game. It is in the same vein as STALKER and METRO but I was so slackjawed at not only the violence and horror of that game. It is a polish game, but by god that is rough game to watch holy shit

HyperViolent is a game System Shock genuinely wish it could be. Tipper Gore would have a fucking conniption fit if she saw both of these games. The thing about HyperViolent is it really wants to be System Shock and it is kinda System Shock 1 with modern QoL among other things, but I felt sooooo fucking dirty just watching it. I cannot put it into words, it really goes super hard into ultraviolence of 90's but man some of that game just disturbs me a lot

Aaron D. This is old news, and you're probably already aware, but Cooking Simulator has finally added a relax mode. No more time limits!
