Finally getting around to building one of my keyboards. I've been curious to try the HHKB layout for some time. The ctrl & backspace placement may take some getting used to.

it will be released after frontiers release. They don’t want to affect Frontiers sales (it doesn’t need help to flop afterall).
Well even sega knows Frontiers gonna flop

lol its Sonic, Its not gonna flop. Even if it doesn't do well on PC it'll do well on consoles. Sonic is SEGA's highest selling franchise every year even in years theres no new release.

Where would you put all your debug keys if you don't have a numpad? :p

(Also, I've come to the conclusion that at some point I might have to build my own keyboard, given that there are no mechanical ergonomic keyboards with a German layout; and I'm too old to switch KB layouts)

I've broken with all things Giant Bomb soon after Gerstmann left.

My attention was already running on fumes with after GB East broke up. Unsuccessfully tried to connect with Nextlander, which never really grabbed me. And Jeff departing was just the final nail. Just too much a scattering of talent to different corners for me to keep up with.

Giant Bomb had a great run in my personal life. Like literally for a solid decade.

Along with the reg. rotation, Ryan Davis (rip), Drew Scanlon, Austin Walker, are all GB alums that left a lasting impression who will not be forgotten.

In the end though, nothing lasts forever. And that's okay. Just ask my first wife, lol!

It was time for me to move on. May not be everyone's story, but it sure is mine. No bitterness. No regrets. Just fond memories.
Rings familiar for me – never followed GiantBomb, but I enjoyed watching/listening to TotalBiscuit and the podcast he did with Jesse Cox, Dodger and sometimes Crendor ( Playlist ). When he died, that podcast went on for a bit and then stopped after a while.

I also really liked VideoGamer UK, they had a couple of really funny guys on the team, but at some point they just kept leaving ... for a while other funny people joined but eventually it just fell apart. The channel still exists with completely different people. Channel link – the old videos are probably from the mid 2010s? Miller Report, Ye Olde Da, Abridged trailers... there were a whole slew of funny formats.


But the main takeaway for me, these channels are a bit like a group of friends, but youre not actually part of that group, youre more of an outside observer, and everytime I started enjoying any podcast later on, I quickly realised I would much rather join in on the discussion than just listen.

Its kinda funny, Im obviously also used to QWERTZ and having ÖÄÜ on the keyboard, but US keyboard layouts were baked into so many old DOS games, its became a bit of an "invisble layout" that I needed to know when playing some games.

Most custom keyboards support QMK firmware which can be easily configured with a GUI like VIA.

I've been using TKL for the past few years, so I'm curious how well I'll adapt to this 60%.

QMK is really nice. You can basically write simple C functions to enable literally all functionality you want, from simple macros to pretty much whatever else you want.

So, how's the Scoreboard looking on days it took for Hatred's ban to be reversed vs how long it's taking for Chaos;Child?

Honestly at this point and with people having emailed GabeN for days now the silence sounds like GabeN is standing by that decision.

Whichever way, it's honestly not a good look on Valve's part to be snubbing an established professional publisher, even if their content is largely niche.

I really wish Steam Achievements were added to The Elder Scrolls Online.
Steam achievements and trading cards are really important for me nowadays. I know it might sound silly, but I just like these things. A lot.

In this same note, where are the Points Shop stuff for the Judgment games, SEGA?

I remember before that lifetime sales of Steam Deck would be between 2-5 million.


I said 2 million because if the device was good and people liked it then it would be niche but it would still find an audience.

2 million is the number of Steam Controllers that Valve was able to manufacture as well.


I said 5 million as the maximum since it would take years in order to make that many and how it would not be sold in retail stores asides from Japan.



So based off the 1 million then it looks like it might end up being somewhere in that range.

I still think it will sell less than 5 million and even by the time that they get close to 5 million units sold it will be close to 2025 by that time there will likely be a Steam Deck MKII. Depending on how cheap it is to still make a Steam Deck they might lower the price a bit or still sell them at MSRP but start selling them in select retail stores.


Price seems to be one of the best things about the Steam Deck with the $400 base price just being very hard to beat with what you are getting. Once it starts to get to the $800



Right now the Steam Deck is basically the "Meta Quest 2".

How ever while the maybe the same in terms of being the cheapest and best entry into a market, the way that they do it is the exact opposite. One of them is heavily marketed to an insane level, the other one people sometimes forget even exist. The both follow the philosophy of hardware manufacturer of being sold at a loss (or at value) and then make up for it in software sales. It being sold for cheap is good because you are getting a best bang for your buck type of experience for something that is considered niche overall.

Quake Ray Tracing mod, from sultim-t who made the doom and serious sam rt mod.

Runs and looks great, dlss and fsr support. I think this is a better fit than doom rtx for ray tracing.

Is 343 not big enough to support an engine team and their Halo team? It seems a no brainer in the long run to build their own Halo-engine and work with it until it bleeds tech dry trying to pump out fancier MC pixels instead of paying their competition for their engine that will have its own limitations
They could be. It's probably getting tougher and tougher to justify supporting an engine for a single game/franchise these days though. And even though MS could easily afford it and it would be a footnote in the balance sheets, I guess they don't see the value. Well, assuming the rumors are true of course. It probably doesn't help that Halo Infinite didn't exactly set the world on fire in the end and their problems with generating new stuff for the gaas part of the game are evident.
Also keeping in mind that this rumor is primarily about the Halo Battle Royale game, I bet they are thinking about potential mobile audience as well. And UE is a known quantity there too.

Yesterday I finished Squad 51 vs. the Flying Saucers and it nails the visuals and sounds of the films they were inspired by.
only managed to do first level , but really enjoyed it so far



But yeah, if it's a remaster that takes the existing game and improves what's already there by adding ray-tracing or whatever, then cool I guess. Won't expect a free update on PC although that would be nice.
tbh what i expect it to be is basically jusr backport of all the QoL and tech improvements they did for the engine for HFW aswell as the improvements made for PC version of HZD .... not much more

Judgment got updated with Intel XeSS support and FSR 2.1 Native option (AMD's alternative to DLAA, running at native resolution just with the FSR anti-aliasing).

Archaeogem is cool. It's a pixel perfect platformer, so it won't be for everyone. I hope it finds its audience, because there's something good there. Worth checking out if you were into Celeste.
