I see Chloe has also been interested in getting into building a PC.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure will support ray-traced reflections, ray-traced shadows, and ray-traced ambient occlusion effects on PC

Very nice, don't even think the PS5 got these. Really close to pulling the trigger on this as it would be the first Sony game I never played on Console.

Rimworld : no result
Kena : no result
...
Oh I see now, that's how it is.
Sadface.

I wouldn't ever expect to see RimWorld on a key site or heavily discounted for that matter.

The dev has pretty strong feelings on paying full price for their project. With the understanding that it's been in active development for a full decade, I oddly agree with the sentiment on this one.

Sure, his stance has been pretty obvious through the years. I don't really know what I was expecting, maybe the fact that Voidu is not one of the grey sites made me unreasonably hopeful.

I'm unfamiliar with this game, but the mention of Castlevania still makes me pause and take a look. :)
Do you know, by any chance, if the content from past events (characters, skins, ...) will be available again in some way?

thanks ;)
Sorry for the late response. I really have no idea but I doubt it. I used to follow this game because some of japanese streamers I follow played it when it was released on august 2019 as Obakeidoro. I got it when it launched on Steam cause of this but it does not have all the past collabs from japanese version. As far as I know it's the first dlc appears since western launch.

Frog Detective 3 looks and plays amazing on the deck :coffee-blob:
Just curious, since you own the game (and a deck): have you tried CyberBlocker on it?

It seems like the kind of game that would be awesome to play on the go. ;)

Clunky at the moment, it seems to lag a decent amount and the search bar is going haywire on me.

That said, still glad to see this is closer to reality than before. I hope they replace the default BP intro with the Steam Deck one and/or whatever custom ones folks launch

Nice! Will be feasting on this later.

Ironic that this happens on the day my Deck Dock arrives and I just checked out the UI on my TV through the Deck for the first time.

Nice, I hope the final version is out soon since I already use my PC with a TV.

Just tested out the new Big Picture UI. It’s everything I hoped for - I’m so glad it’s nearly there.

There’s still a few issues with it, but I’m really happy with how this has turned out so far.

Edit: there are some issues. It launches my games in windowed mode, which is annoying.

I just saw mention of the Deck suspend mode. Does it works reliably ? Can I suspend without even pausing a game ?

Has always worked for me, but I do not suspend for more than a few minutes at a time to go grab something or whatnot. I have never left it for several hours or more.

Briefly tested the new UI for desktop. It seems to be somewhat more functional now than it was back when you could force the desktop client to update to use the deck mode, but lots of work to be done. I would probably use it as my daily BPM mode, but the way it's set up to work now doesn't really allow that. Well, I mean, I could have two steam shortcuts and just exit and launch steam in BPM mode but that's not really a good user experience. What I mean is that it's possible to click a button from the desktop client to go to new BPM, that still launches the old one. And that also means that the old overlay is still there, and new overlay is only available with the commandline shortcut.

So it doesn't really fit into my use case right now.

I just watched Digital Foundry's Gotham Knights video and it made me once again admire Tim Sweeney's 4D chess. His company made an engine that stutters so much on Windows that the smoothest way to play games on that engine is... Steam Deck and SteamOS, the device and OS of his direct competitor. As soon as SteamOS 3 is widely available I can see many gamers installing it to get away from the stuttering nightmare.

So, let it never be said again that Tim Sweeney hates Linux. He is doing everything in his power to get people to drop Windows and I tip my cap to him.

Not sure what your use-case is, but I switched off launching Steam on boot and put the modified shortcut in my Start-up folder. That did the trick.

The only downside is Valve doesn’t let you shut down your PC from the new UI.
