Digital foundry did a video about Portal with RTX. You can easily play it on non-4000 gpus. Down to 2060s. They show the settings in the video for folks that want to try it out. It's a really good looking game and is a fun reason to revisit a classic

Would like to know if there is a way to set up the Steam Client so that it automatically starts downloads for game updates immediately.
It's a small nuisance to manually start each one. But I couldn't find an easy way in the settings.
You can set to high priority in properties per game. This will auto download it. I don't see a way to set everything all at once.

Right Click in library on game > Properties > Updates - Automatic Updates

High Priority - Always auto-update this game before others.

I have this on a few games and once an update drops, it insta downloads it.

  • Updating application from 32-bit to 64-bit. This requires the user to have a 64-bit Windows OS (Windows 8.1 or newer) to run the game.
  • Once the game application is updated, 32-bit versions of Persona 4 Golden will no longer be playable. Save data should not be affected by this change.
Why not leave the old version in Steam Beta Branch? It can be useful for historical purposes. Would like to know Durante 's thoughts on this.

Bringing the heat with the takes, literally! :tightly-closed-eyes:

Any suggestions on specific dishes I should try to get a good feel for it? I'm going to search for a good Portuguese place in our area. :blobdrool:
Ok, here we go.

Arroz de pato

Basically a duck risotto with a crispy layer on top. It's one of my favorites and you really don't know how amazing this is until you try it.

Cozido à portuguesa

Literally the portuguese stew. One of the most emblematic dishes and probably the main reason for a lot of Portugal's health problems. A mix of lots of different types of meat and vegtables.

Francesinha

Considered one of the best sandwiches in the world and one of the biggest calorie bombs there is.

There are a ton of dishes with codfish and they are all amazing. For example Bacalhau à brás:

And of course, alheira:

Basically a smoked sausage unlike anything you've seen before.

There is so much more though, these are just some of my favorites,

I don't think people here are gonna like it, but here goes.

I don't think Valve should remove these nazi games, if someone wants to buy them, okay, I don't care, buy them. Also, I don't see those games on Steam anyway, so that's party of my carelessness for removing those games.

I think a reason often overlooked that it will never work large-scale, long-term, is exactly because of the federated servers. Any server is at the whim of whoever is running it, and if they die or get bored or have a breakdown or money runs out, that server is gone. This is the same problem with Discord server, subreddits, etc. except much more likely because there's actual costs associated with it, whereas other servers you don't pay for personally.

While this is true of ANY media site, it's just much more likely to happen with Mastodon servers, and that combined with all the other limitations make it unlikely to ever truly gain traction. Something like Cohost is probably the compromise that would be most likely to catch on while still being a decent compromise - still publicly funded, so no ads/algorithm, but also centrally moderated to minimize risks. Unfortunately something like Hive which is just another venture capital Twitter, but has a very low barrier to entry, is most likely to rise up.
I actually think the "federated" nature is not even half as scary as people think. You can move your accounts around as easily as you want. The one running the server can just decide to not let more users in if they start running out of money, and signal to users that they will shut down at some point and to move their accounts before then. The scenario that they just pull the plug assumes active malice, which would assume they were pretty terrible at running the thing in the first place and wouldn't have a positive community in the first place.

But yeah, Mastodon will surely stay relatively niche. Doesn't seem like a bad thing to me either. Mass media doesn't seem like something great and desirable anyway. Smaller communities allow better and more effective communication and allow for more meaningful engagement with others. On that note, I also think the "bubble" problem isn't something that can be fixed by just letting everyone into a service and amplifying their voices. That just helps the most radical views to be propagated, and ironically leads to even stronger bubbles.

I agree in a way, but at the same time, I think Steam should remove all shovelware garbage so they should also be removed. Make a high quality nazi game and it can stay (I know how bad this sounds hah..).

I think to be a tolerant society you need to be a hypocrite and be intolerant of intolerance. It’s just one of those mental gymnastics you have to do to keep people safe.

I’m more than happy for any and all nazi shit ranging from out and out nazism through to fascist dogwhistles to be completely banned. You need to come down hard on these people and basically treat them like social vermin, because they will do far worse to innocents if they’re allowed to. There should be no space for their bigotry.

The rights of the people the nazis slaughtered (and those they would slaughter in the future were they able to) unequivocally override the rights of any fash to promote their abhorrent ideology under the guise of ”free speech”.

Exactly this. It needs to be purged. Just ignoring it isn't an option.

Nah man, banning misanthropic and glorifing Nazi games should be the lowest common denominator imo

It's probably not something where Valve will have much of a choice as time goes on. EU officials aren't addressing Gabe Newell is clearly meant to signal that either the company gets its act together or will face regulation that takes the choice off their hands.

BRB, deleting all of my email addresses, because they are all on federated servers, at the whim of whoever is running them.

How can anyone take seriously an argument that federated services are unsustainable when the very network they’re running on is in itself a federation?

The fediverse feels more like a course correction than an economically unsustainable venture.

In fact, most successful technologies scale via some sort of distribution or another, rather than centralisation, which has a propensity to topple over eventually. If they didn’t, we’d all be using mainframes right now.

These Web 2.0 monstrosities are the anomalies on the Internet, and they only exist because they got pumped with so much VC cash that they became too big to fail. And now we’re watching as one-by-one they drop like dominoes.

Speaking of horror - I'm replaying Subnautica as there was an update recently and man, that game gives me the willies like no other. Its so scary. I've already completed it a few years ago so i know whats out there but still it shits me up.
I need to get back into it at some point. Not sure if I should start over at this point, it feels like it's been too long. Nearly 3 years actually. I think I remember being kind of stuck on where to progress next and have had a spoiler free guide bookmarked ever since.

Do it. It really is a great game and the recent update seems to have improved a few things like pop in and some quality of life changes.

Assassin's Creed codename Jade video leaked.

Two observations :
  • Fans have begged for years for an Asian AC, but you are so late to the game UBI that it doesn't even seem that original anymore.
  • I hope they have a new writing team, because with the usual UBI writing I'm half expecting a diplomatic crisis.

Between Total Warhammer 3 and Darktide, ive been in such a warhammer mood lately, i bought the full pack of Blood Bowl 2, and had a surprisingly good time with the core gameplay, the nonexisting single player content and dead multiplayer aside.

Ended up preordering the Deluxe Edition of Blood Bowl 3.

Today i finished both Uncharted 4 and Kena (It took me like 19h or Uncharted and 16 for Kena) and i really enjoyed both games a lot. But it is interesting how both games have last 1/3 or 1/4 kinda worse than rest of the game XD I enjoyed Uncharted 4 the most around middle of the game and with Kena i enjoyed exploring that world the most. i didn;t have to much issues with bosses in Kena but i must day that Parry timing and reading enemy attacks really doesn;t feel right, timings are really narrow and reading some enemy attacks is almost impossible. Overall both games were my kind of games and i am really glad that we got them, and i really want to see Uncharted 1-3 on PC too.

Now only game that i started and not finished yet is Hades that i am currently playing (i do few runs every other day). Now i need to decide what to play next (over holidays xD) I will probably go with Gotham Knights. and Sackboy.
