They did similar with their other recent games. They likely want data on customers who leave their console ecosystem for PC, or leave their PC ecosystem for console, or have both going concurrently (and what purchases they make on each platform, whether they double-dip and playtime split between platforms), or various other bits of data they can glean from account linking.

I wasn't interested in Returnal until recently, when I learned that it has full coop. Now I'm really quite intrigued.
I'm probably not willing to spend €60 on it, but at least it doesn't seem like I'd be rewarding a crap 0 effort port (which it feels like for e.g. FF7R, where I like the game but can't shake the feeling that even the €35 I spent are more than I should given the port quality).

I guess I'll see what the pricing will be like on GMG etc.

It's interesting that they do this for Steam, but not Epic. I'm assuming they're not doing account links for the EGS, every other Sony release that's done it has only done it for Steam. They probably know it won't give any data.

I'd be pissed if they came out with some garbage PC platform that integrates with their console ecosystem. Meaning, it would be locked down with security nonsense similar to a console OS and probably prevent playing games with convenient third-party tools, prioritizing the audience that owns both platforms over the far larger market of PC-only players that you'd think are the entire reason they're bothering to put games on PC in the first place.

I've technically had my playstation account and my steam account linked since Portal 2 was released because you could buy a copy of Portal 2 for the playstation 3 and get a free copy of it on steam, I then sold it to someone who didn't have a computer at all for like 5$-10$ off so I got a brand new game for like yeah 5$

Circling back to the original point I wonder if they still have my steam information/psn info after all this time since it's arguably the same

The Internet the moment Hogwarts Legacy is out.

Despite of my love for HP, Im not planning on buying it day 1 regardless, Pathfinder is gonna take such a long time to get through and I just ordered Returnal which is out 5 days after HP.

After today's The Division 2 update fixing/enabling Deck's compatibility I remembered that article from July 2021 in which Ubisoft's CEO said something in the line of "Steam Deck support depends on sales" so, I guess Steam Deck was a success? :lampblob:

Having content exclusive to PS kills it at release for me.

JK Rowling makes this a [n almost] never purchase for me, even if it ends up being decent., which I have my doubts about.
I don't think this is going to be the hit some think, but am willing to admit I may underestimate how strong the HP fanbase still is

Now available:

Few options for third party sites, but I imagine it will appear on more places within a day or two.

Regional prices relative to Valve's

They added a bundle for P4G and P3P, but it does not look like a complete your collection bundle :crying-face:

Immediately sold!

P4G is my favorite Persona, but I've always had a soft spot for P3 because it was the first Persona game to really draw me in.

As a bonus, I've never played P3P (just OG and FES) so this will be my first run as the FeMC. Super hyped to beat the hell out of this game on the Deck!

Persona 4 got now the update

This latest release of Persona 4 Golden includes a number of Quality-of-Life updates. Full patch details can be found below:
  • Updating application from 32-bit to 64-bit. This requires the user to have a 64-bit Windows OS (Windows 10) to run the game.
    - Once the game application is updated, 32-bit versions of Persona 4 Golden will no longer be playable. Save data should not be affected by this change.

  • Additional support for the following text languages: French, Italian, Spanish, German, and Simplified Chinese

  • Dual Audio options – choose between English or Japanese voice acting

  • New Quick Save game feature added – Feature allows you to suspend from any location in the game.

Better regional pricing than I expected, not gonna lie. P5 and SH2 were pretty much 1:1 conversion here.

pretty sure i remember some leaked svreens showing more FPS
... and also this setting
Thanks! That's good enough for me.

I thought a European studio wouldn't release a frame-locked game, but then someone pointed out that all prior Playstation published ports actually advertised unlocked framerates, and I got slightly concerned.

4k240 with RTX, here we go
Nah I "only" want 3440x1440 with 100+ FPS (for an action-heavy game like this). I think I should be fine hardware-wise for that.

i just realized that i don't actually need to buy Dead Space.
I can just subscribe to EA play for a month.

It's going to be one of the biggest videogame releases in years.

The announcement video on youtube has 30 Million clicks. By comparison, Elden Ring had only 10 million and ended up selling 20 million copies.

It's the most wishlisted game on steam at the moment.

It's why people are having this conversation regarding JK Rowling and wether or not any person should buy the game and all that.
If the game was destined to sell a few thousand copies and would be forgotten, now one would really care either way.

I think a lot of people either don’t know or care that J.K. Rowling is a monster.

Sad, really.

While I’m not gonna judge or shame anyone here for playing Hogwarts Legacy, my view is that playing it (even by piracy) adds to its cultural relevance and thus tacitly endorses Rowling’s views.

I recommend no one play it. Even if your impact is a drop in the ocean, there is a moral dimension to it that needs to be considered.

I'm torn on Hogwarts, it seems like a dream game(depending how open it is) but JK Rowling has kind of destroyed HP for me. While I am very much for separating the artist from the art, but that is more for singular solo art pieces, since I believe troublesome people also can create some of the best art.

I will play Hogwarts on gamepass but won't ever buy it.

I know it's several days before launch, but Forspoken is not doing well at all. As of right now it is only in 41st place on the Steam charts. It'll climb during launch week, but it currently looks dire. I think the lousy price, extremely high system requirements and fairly poor word-of-mouth from the demo are scaring off a lot of customers.

I'm kinda out of the loop regarding the whole Rowling topic and my only knowledge about Harry Potter is from some of the movies. Is the source material filled with J.K. Rowling's views? Is the game full of those views? If not, then I would argue that we should not boycott the game simply because the author of the source material is PoS. The game is not created by her, but by a whole studio with hundreds of staff who have nothing to do with J.K. Rowling and don't share her opinions. I'm sure she will get royalties from this game, but by not buying the game you also hurt those who spend years developing the game. And we know what happens when the game underperforms - it's very often followed by the news of studio layoffs.

Here is an example. Andrzej Sapkowski, the creator of Witcher, is not the greatest person. At least from what I know, he is not nearly on the level of Rowling, but he is still an arrogant, self-loving a-hole. That didn't stop people from buying Witcher and loving the game. Granted he only got money upfront for the license, but the argument stands.

Rowling has said the success of Hogwarts Legacy will be an endorsement/vindication of her views.

The bigotry is absolutely tied to the product.

With that in mind, you can do the coal mine argument. Coal mines need to go - yes it sucks for the people who work those mines, but the damage directly and inexplicably linked to the mine cannot be ignored.

Edit: let’s not even get started on the actual contents of the HP fiction. While not transphobic itself, it is Anti-Semitic to its core.
