there's a primary reason the Steam Deck sold so well - and it's the price for the buck

it's 399 dollars for the cheapest version and a joy package, a small pc you can have for general purposes, but primarily games - something appealing to a general consumer who just wants that, there's not even any remarkable performance differences between the versions of the steam deck, with the exception of the memory

but when these companies like Asus and AYANEO try to sell their small handheld PCs, they usually go for way too high of prices - (this Asus ROG Ally being at a whopping 599 dollars for the cheapest version with lower performance, with a more powerful version at 699 dollars) - they'll naturally be specks of dust compared to the steam deck triumph
Honestly I feel like the UX and Software is a bigger differentiator.
Steam OS isn't perfect and you lose the ability to play some games due to compatibility issues, but overall it feels well thought out and just... nice. I've watched some videos of the ROG and the software just feels bolted on (which, to be fair, it is after all). I don't think I could do Windows on a handheld, I barely use the Desktop mode of the Deck.

Sony just bring Horizon Forbidden West to PC - I’m not buying a PS5 to play it.
Q2 next year is my guess. It won't be announced this year. Neither will GT7 on PC assuming this is still on the cards.

We could get Ghost of Tsushima & Demons Souls this year though, and perhaps TLOU Part II.

I just did a playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 with my 4080. Performance was awesome, but it can always be better.

And it’s a really good game now CDPR have spent a couple of years fixing it up. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it’s got some quality main and side quests and I like the open world GTA-style fused with some simple immersive sim gameplay.

This is my perfect plan for every CDPR game now. Wait 2-3 years until the big DLC and patches come out and then enjoy a pretty good game.

Yeah, this is what I’ll do next time.

But I’m gonna do a third CP2077 playthrough when they release the DLC. That’ll complete my trifecta of life paths and I’ll likely be done with the game after that.

Ghost of Tsushima, Ratchet & Clank, Demon's Souls, GT7 and TLOU Part II are the games that have more chances to come to PC between this year and next year.

HFW, GOW Ragnarok and some others will likely wait for late 2024

Smaller titles (please, smaller here means second line) like Shadow of the Colossus and some others will likely release on PC between bigger releases.

I was colossally disappointed by CP2077 side content. That is probably the worst city based game in that aspect. And main quests can be interesting but it is obvious how much they did cut and how many shortcut hey took.

Tried playing The Last of Us Part I.

Plays fine on my hardware, but my god I forgot how miserable and po-faced it is.

10 years ago it was one of my favourite games. I considered it a classic. It lands differently for me now.

So I got my 4070 yesterday, I should be happy but ever since I Installed it my mouse cursor keeps freezing from time to time, and it's driving me up the wall lol. Have you guys ever encountered something like this? I updated my mouse drivers and also used DDU to uninstall the graphics drivers and make a clean driver install. I'm not sure how to fix this.

I actually remember reading something about something like this happening during 30x0 series but I think it was fixed with a driver update at the time.
I imagine you have the latest DCH driver, though now that I think about it the old standard driver probably wouldn't even support the new cards so that's probably not the issue.

What's the rest of your system like?
Updating your mobo chipset drivers might help.
Tried a different USB port? Maybe the front ports instead of back ports, or the opposite if you are using the front ports now.
If the mouse is wireless, maybe it's some kind of interference from the new card so getting an usb extension cable that sits a meter away from the pc case could help.

Ryzen 5 3600
32 gb ram 3600
MSI mobo B55o chipset AM4
Asus RTX 4070
750w Bronze psu

But I think I got my answer from a random reddit post with no comments lol. Apparently, when I plugged all my peripherals I used the USB 2.o ports from my mobo, I switched it to the USB 3.0 ports and that seems to have done the trick.

So let me get this straight... There's a fully functional PC version of Bloodborne with the Old Hunters DLC included, that environmental artists have been doing fuck all with, except to take screenshots for the Bloodborne Wiki? Is this the famous PC port that was imminently coming in 2020?

This game is pure depression lmao.

You’d be surprised how many games have a PC build. Whether that’s from prototyping and early development, or a scrapped PC version.

It’s not likely in a releasable state and may not have ever been planned for release.

One of MC's members (Queen) said she was testing Bloodborne on PC, but there were lots of issues with it. This may have been the reason why the PC build was never released, or perhaps Sony decided to plan a remaster/remake after the success of Demon's Souls.

Haven't they alredy announced PC ports in previous showcases?
They have, but if I remember correctly this was in conjunction with a PS5 version of a game.

It's not out of the realms of possibility and I think the longer the showcase the bigger the chance we get something.

They may also save PC announcements for Summer Games Fest.

Spider-Man PC was announced at last year's State of Play. If there is a PC announcement, I think it will be Ghost of Tsushima. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart was just added to the PS+ Extra catalogue this month so it might be a bit premature for a PC port announcement. On the other hand, Ghost was put on the PS+ catalogue last year. Casually observing, it appears Sony is doing retail release -> PS+ -> PC for their first party games.

I'm kinda hoping they give us another "whole slate" of games.

There's plenty of PS3 and PS4 games that could be released for PS5 to fill any number of release gaps, and that's prime for a PC port at the same time.

Gimmie 12 months of releases.

Started Days Gone, having a good time. Was needing something with lots of action to offset the huge amounts of reading in Shadowrun Hong Kong.
I remember it having lots of issues at launch on PS4 but right now it fels like one of the most polished open world games I've played. Looks and runs great too. Love riding around on the bike, especially coming off of riding Roach in TW3 over the last few months lol.

The amount of content in Blood and Wine blows my mind even more now than it did back then. Could honestly have been a standalone full price game.

There's no chance they'll talk about PC games at this event.
Yeah, while not impossible I see it happening at keighley's event since they are listed as one of the companies showing up and they're not going to give him anything big with their own show coming up.

The only PC stuff you'll see from Sony at the showcase is MP stuff that's hitting PC same day so stuff like Factions.

GT7 would probably be next year I guess. Roughly two years after its console release.

But I'm not sure Shadow of the Colossus is coming to pc. Never heard any rumors about it really.

Depends. They probably won't announce something solely pertaining to PC but a new PS5/PC project could be announced.
