Plex, Sonarr, Radarr, and Bazarr ( if you want non-English subtitles). This is the way.
I've got all of this on an Unraid server built from an old PC. I just set it and forget it - check in once or twice a week to run updates and sometimes I need to intervene with certain shows as it keeps downloading fakes, but it's otherwise works all by itself most of the time.

I still see films in the cinema, and I'd be willing to buy shows again if, as I said above, they were sold on more acceptable terms.

But if the film/TV industry is going to continue to rip customers and creators off, I'm not going to be putting any of my money into it.

Same here. I was all in when Netflix started growing rapidly. But then more companies started launching their streaming platforms and Netflix's catalog started shrinking. I was not going to spend hundreds of dollars per month to have access to everything I wanted to watch, because streaming was meant to be affordable. I took my old laptop with 4th gen i7, bought a 4TB external HDD, spent half a day setting it up, and tucked it away so I don't even see it and that's it. With proper configuration, Sonarr and Radarr have been downloading quality copies like I wanted and they very rarely make a mistake. Every so often I have to manually find proper subtitles in my native language because some people like to put Google translated subtitles into subtitle services and Bazarr sometimes downloads those.

EDIT. I have a 5-bay NAS with 3 HDDs, 12 TB total already installed, and ready to be connected to Plex, but that has to wait until I move out of current
apartment.

100%.

And there's a new *arr project - Comarr (edit: I forgot that it's now called Kapowarr) - for Comics. It's in very early stages of development and I prefer it already over Mylar3 (which I know it's obviously a pretty complex piece of software and that the author is way more skilled/knowledgeable than I am... but I hate it so, so much...)
Comarr is still missing a ton of features though (it's heavily reliant on ComicVine, which makes it mostly unsuitable for manga, unless it's been published by Viz or something... and for now I think you can only download from g**comics, and can't talk to indexers via Prowlarr).

Edit: whoops. I forgot. It's now called Kapowarr, not Comarr (that's what the dev used to call it on Reddit, even before the first release).

For some reason I always thought Plex was a pay to use product so never tried it out. Added the rest to my bookmarks, but I do sometimes stream tv shows that I want to watch and am not subscribed to the channels.

Some features require a subscription. But you also have the option to pay about 120$ to get a lifetime licence.
I'm a heavy user and use PlexAmp all the time (a dedicated music player to stream your music... which is pretty usueful with Android auto). I bought a licence like 4 years ago and I've been really happy with my purchase.

Try the free version and then upgrade if you want more features.

Edit: also, before you spend any money... you should look into jellyfin which is completely free and open source (I think) and there's also Emby (I think some of the features do require a subscription, but I'm not sure). I'm happy with Plex and don't see a reason to switch... even though their slow-ass development and eagerness to implement features nobody wanted (games...) are frustrating.

Here you go! Pretty useful website.
For people using a Synology, you can look stuff up on Marius' website: Marius Hosting – Trustworthy expert guide to your Synology NAS.

I use a 5 bay Synology NAS with a couple of docker containers and I also have a headless server (it's a tiny second hand Dell Optiplex with a decent CPU that I got on eBay) on which most of my docker containers run.

That's cheap., -19% if you own first
Was expecting something more expensive. Was the first Talos 1 also this cheap when it first dropped?
EDIT:
SteamDB is showing Talos 1 at 40€ base price in 2015, so yeah, the sequel is quite a bit cheaper.

It has been sitting on my wishlist for many years, nice to see it finally getting released.

El Paso, Elsewhere has some really good reviews so far. A Max Payne style shooter with vampires and werewolves.
The demos was good and sold the game to me.

FINALLY coming to PC

fucking finally
