I understand your point but personally I can't find even a little bit of respect for someone who is so blinded by his fanatical devotion to a virtual pet game from a specific company that he can't do his actual job and assess a different game fairly and objectively.
Thats why so many people don't trust Gaming news sites anymore.
He can be a big fan of one property and dislike a game on that premise, but than he shouldn't write an article about it on the site he works for, or make that article as informed as can be.
His shitposts can go to twitter or his own blog, but not the gaming news site.

Mivey Story was a big part of the draw for older Pokemon ? I would object at first glance. There is a world, some very limited lore, but I don’t see any semblance of story in most of the early episodes I played. There was a remake whose title I forgot with some nice beats, but if we are talking older episodes, before Platinum, maybe even included, story is non existent.
It’s a big part of why I dropped this shit. The world that is alluded to being so much more interesting than this stupid cockfighting championship.
The first game that really had a story was Pokemon Black and White (still the highest rated Pokemon game in Japan) instead of being aimed at kids it's was more aimed at teens.

It was a good game but it seems it didn't sell as much as they wanted and it's because of Black and White 2 that they decided to stop being a third version of games (Platinum was the last one that they made), since they just didn't make as much money as they wanted , this lead to them making sequel (Sun and Moon have Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon) and then they decided to just do DLC expansion packs.

Sun and Moon also have a decent story from what I have heard but not on the same level as Black and White. Speaking of Black and White I still think the promo (remember this was aimed at teens and not kids) was really cool.

Pokemon Co releasing a nothing statement like that is basically extra marketing for Palworld lol.

Anyways 8 million in 6 days is an incredible achievement for a paid game on Steam. Really don't see what other title can top this speed sales performance in the future.

Maybe Witcher 4 and Elder Scrolls 6 if they are reviewed really REALLY well.

Dark Souls 4 or Elden Ring 2 could pull off something like that as well I guess.

GTA6 could too ofc but it will be years late to Steam so its unlikely it can sell so much at such a fast rate imo.

Simply blowing up on Steam isn't enough...you need to blow up on Steam across Asia, US and Europe. And you have to be priced correctly. Western AAA games just have to many obstacles and roadblocks in their way upon release. Games are now 70$ and many release with performance issues.

So apparently the reason that TPC released that statement had to do with fans. And it boils down to "please stop sending us complaints about this game" and "just leave us alone".

Since it seems that it's both fans in Japan and international that have been sending complaints to TPC about PalWorld and since TPC can't legally do anything about it. It's saying it's going to look into so that people will stop sending them complaints (these complaints that I'm talking has nothing to do with the quality of Pokemon games themselves, but rather of fans that feel but hurt that they feel like their favorite brand is being threatened by the popularity of something else).

I've never seen anything like this before...

Announcing both the release and end of service of a game in the same fucking tweet lmao
The whole shenanigans is so bizarre. There's literally no point to launching it anymore as the Japan version has also announced EOS. Even with the few months no one will be spending any money on the game they know will be shutting down. Bushiroad really screwed up big time on the Love Live mobile games :confounded-face:

Does anyone know? I’ve been playing Infinite wealth and just realised it doesn’t yet have achievements on Xbox… so nothing is unlocking. Will they unlock retroactively once they go live or do I have to restart the game?

I guess it depends on how the game is coded. If it checks on startup if you have unlocked achievements or not.
Maybe you have unlocked the achievements in the backend, and the frontend doesn't show these yet

Well, I did not say it had a very complex story., It's pretty much a Staturday morning cartoon. Yo go to explore the world, find out there's some bad guys and save the world with your friends (who you also keep as slaves but let's not think too hard on that!) I think part of this also came from watching the anime back then, which helped make the games more interesting too
As I have hopefully also made clear, there is good chance that Palworld could add such a story and things like quests to its final game. They surely have enough money to keep working on this for the rest of their lives.

Well, uhh, yes? Falcom stopped making PC games decades ago.
Judging from the results, generally what CLE does is take a PC dev build (which of course exists, basically everyone has one, regardless of target console), slap an extremely cut-down version of my old launcher I made for ToCS2 on it, and call it a day.
I guess you can call that a PC port -- Koei-Tecmo certainly did more or less the same for years on most of their franchises, and several S-E releases aren't far from it (and let's not talk about IF) -- but I put scare quotes around it to express my disdain :p

Been playing around with Apollo Justice, and I love the job Capcom has done with the old sprites. Basically all of the have been redrawn at a higher res. I am not sure I love the unfiltered look they have, a bit too sharp, but overall a much higher quality than in the previous AA collection.

Maybe it's a dumb question but will I get any trouble for messing with the anti cheat to play?
Not a dumb question at all.

Generally speaking:

Disabling EAC (since that was the specific anti-cheat under discussion) should disable any online components as well. Which is good, because you don't want to be online with a game state out of line with the dev's expectations.

- Obviously, so long as you never go back online after disabling EAC (you'll probably need to reactivate EAC for that), no trouble at all can occur, no matter how heavily you cheat or mod the game.

- So long as you did not cheat or mod in solo play, reactivating EAC and going back online after the fact should not cause any trouble.

- IF you mod the game AND go back online eventually afterwards, THEN the dev can download your save / gamestate / stats, see something out of line, and ban you from multiplayer or whatever penalty applies for your game. That's how it works for Elden Ring. If you don't know exactly what they look for, and you can't, because that code is entirely server-side, you can't be sure whether you're safe.

To avoid that potential issue, in that last scenario you want to wipe your saves/profile before going back online, so there is no trace of your modding / cheating.

Games where MP is a separate component from SP probably don't look at your solo saves at all. Elden Ring mixes the two, but that's the exception rather than the rule.

Ah, okay, looking forward to the upcoming Austrian port too, the guy who makes them is such a good programmer and likes us, PC gamers.

If it's true that Xbox will no longer produce physical games, then I'm afraid my time with Xbox has come to an end, I refuse to support a console that has no physical options.
I already have to deal with that shit on PC, don't need another DRM!

The Epic Games Store is the #7 software store in the world (behind the 3 console stores, 2 mobile stores, and Steam on PC). We're determined to launch on iOS and Android and enter the competition to become the #1 multi-platform software store, on the foundation of payment competition, 0%-12% fees, and exclusive games like Fortnite.

Fuck it, I requested a refund for Prince of Persia which I got on Monday (because the physical copies we got, were resealed to include an ugly ass rating sticker and fuck that shit!) on Xbox, and cancelled Gamepass.
