Steam having concurrent user numbers freely available was such a brilliant move. The platform gets free viral marketing with every game that becomes a success.
Yep I believe the CCUs being public helps feed into the success of games. People see the CCUs or read articles about the CCUs of games that weren't expected to be a big success, causing them to sell more copies and get higher CCUs. It's a cycle that feeds into itself.

I'm really hoping that other developers take a hint from the new Tomb Raider collection, I would love to have so many classic series available with this level of attention and care. Hire the passionate modders to make these projects, they actually give a shit and everybody wins!

Nintendo is now the richest company in Japan
Image time ago when the company was nearly bankrupt and was "saved" thanks to Pokemon company.

According to Phil, xbox owned games should be playable on xcloud this year.

this is a good movement if this include 360 bc games too.

Okay so there is stuff.

By the way it took me a while to understand it, but it's true that PSN doesn't have a player count thing. The closest thing that they have is a "top 10 games in your region". Since I'd imagine that it is purely based off revenue made from the game and not what is currently being played by the most amount of players. Because if that is the case, that's kinda sad and really shows the state of PS and their taste in games. From #1 downward it's helldiver, Fortnite,COD 2K sports and Madden stuff. People make fun of PC for loving survival crafting games and yet all console really does is play the same sports game and COD over and over again even though they are mainly the same thing. Nintendo mainly has Pokemon and some other stuff, but mainly Pokemon and well that has its issues. But at the same time there is also some variety there as well.

Nintendo is worth 20 billion USD? Or is it 200 billion USD? I'm guessing 200 billion? In which case that is definitely a lot.

Then where does Toyota and SoftBank fit in all of this? I thought they were bigger than Nintendo?

edit: Never mind it seems to be the old footage cobbled together into a trailer.

Definitely has the feel of bait for the next Nintendo Direct.

What is the usual time from Korea rating leaks to release? This could be a really good summer Deck title while waiting for Metaphor.

I wouldn't count any Persona game past 2 as megami tensei games. At that point you are just listing Atlus games, regardless of whether they share similar game mechanics or not

I don't see why not, they are still turn-based monster collecting JRPG's that share a catalogue of spells and monsters with SMT.
Of course they have some different mechanics than the mainline games, but the same can be said for Soul Hackers or Digital Devil Saga

Persona 3 and onwards just simply things to an extreme degree. In the original monster collector-like games, the interaction with "personas" or devils was rich and the focus point of the game. Actually fighting them was in some way the least interesting thing you could do. I also consider them to be essentially dungeon crawlers whereas the most effective way to play Highschool Persona games is to avoid entering the dungeons as much as possible and finish everything on exactly one day each month. The game almost punishes you for playing it like a dungeon crawler and the combat is incredibly simplified. Arguably the only bit that shows the SMT "dna" is that Personas collect attacks and you need to pick and choose which ones you want. If that's enough to make them SMT games, then sure.

Do we know if this will ever come to PC?

Some of the settings menu tutorial videos/images in the Switch version were made using the PC version - there’s sections for display and graphics settings that the Switch version doesn’t have.

So at the very least a PC build exists. Perhaps Nintendo has 12 months exclusivity on this, which potentially puts the PC version at around late June/early July.

The announcement trailer footage also looks noticeably better than the first switch exclusivity trailer. A lot of the footage in both trailers are exactly the same too so you have a direct comparison.

I've seen that tutorial screenshot but could never find it in let's play videos (fwiw, I gave up after like 3 videos).

That Danganronpa spin-off had shorter exclusivity period (roughly 6 months?) but Spike Chunsoft seems to be busy promoting new Shiren so it'll probably be around 12 months anyway.

While these things aren't nessecarily untrue, the Persona games have more dungeon crawling than the mainline series now, given that Shin Megami Tensei V doesn't have any dungeons at all.
Persona 5 also brought back Demon Negotiation.

They certainly do things and feel different, but that's arguably true for a lot of spin-offs in many franchises.

Do we know if this will ever come to PC?

You are not missing out.
It's really bad.

SMT V has some things that can be fixed (notably the lack of story and wacky level scaling), but its biggest issue (the completely uninteresting maps) won't be addressed without a complete overhaul, which I wouldn't expect.

V had two dungeons. They were both awful and had none of the things you'd expect from a SMT dungeon.

That's why i didn't count them.
They're more like "linear sections" in an openworld game than an actual dungeon.

I wonder if Decapolice from Level 5 will get a late PC port eventually. Really looked like a neat game

Oh, wow, looking forward to playing P5 then. And also wasn't aware that SMTV removed dungeons as a concept. That is pretty striking, at least from what I played from the earlier games

SMTV definitely went through some development hell considering how the latter half of the game went. I still had fun with it and hopefully this new version addresses those issues and releases on Steam.

Sharing information sucks.

So this information does seem to match up with what is happening.

All of the peak player counts for this game have been during US times in the afternoon and evening, which is rare since it's usually in the mornings from 6-8AM PST on the weekends following the release of a game.

They issues seems to be that people are questioning the data, which they can, how ever the issue is what they are basing their questioning off of.

People are using that the game is currently number one on on US PSN. Which is likely based off revenue generated but I don't see anyone that is confirming that.

Based of the experience that a lot of people have been having with server issues, it's no surprise that the number is that low. So while people may be buying the game they are simply not playing since they can't even get into the game because of server issues.

Numbers are just numbers, they are only good if you know how to use them/interpret them and know their meaning.

Since people will bring up what the CEO said about the 50:50 split between PC and PS5, they never mentioned what the region split was like.

Hope it's good, I love what they show.
Well damn.
First things first, I love the way it looks, Toriyama art with proper lighting and shaders looks really, really good - historically we had pretty good looking characters in games based on his designs, but the backgrounds were always lacking, and I do like that this game nails it for once. Even good, expensive projects didn't really feel like that (like DQ11, looks fine, but hardly inspired and fitting environments).
It is also a fairly different take on vaguely "post apo" designs, since despite the name, there's tons of greenery still.

But after that... open world that smells a bit like mad max, melee combat with AI partners as skill users and talent trees, stealth, dungeons, mechs that act as exploration upgrades but also combat ones like old timey Armored Core, giant monsters, town building and NPC recruitment, housing, minigames and challenges... this is all cool and interesting... but this is a Bamco game.
And Bamco anime games trying to do a million different things with their skeletal budget...

Please be at least half decent.

and take in mind this past weekend you didn't need plus subscription to play online on PlayStation. Was free weekend promotion for everyone.
