I am also interested in Timberborn
I already endorsed Soviet republic to you a few days ago. Just have to add, that unless you want to start on the easiest mode and start every few hours anew, the best thing is to simultaneously play with a lets player. (best with a second monitor)
I followed one on realistic mode (the hardest) from the start and he explains everything. A Tutorial series with the same map is a good starting point.
The series is in German, though.
The tutorial is that bad ? :anguished-face:

Are there actually well made mouses or is everything as shit as Logitech ?
There is the infamous 'double click' issue looming over every Logitech mouse, but these days my mouse wheel has a tendency to go in the opposite direction I input. Reading Logitech QA faq a couple months ago, I guess I have to air spray the mouse wheel because some dust went in.

My logical conclusion, this is all well and good, but in the year of our lord 2024 is there really no better offering ? Something I don't have to dust off every other month ? Something that won't double click after some years ? A. FUCKING. WELL MADE. MOUSE.
At least for double clicking, I'd go with something that has optical switches. Even Logitech has a couple nowadays. My Roccat wired mouse has been double click-free for 20 months which is a far better result than my 2 previous Logitech G305. My first one of those was double clicking out of the box, Second one, less than a year.

It is notable that people claimed 100M less free games.

And Mythical category of games is basically identical to last year except Dead Island 2, it was Tiny's Tina Wonderland last year.

I've stopped buying Logitech mice because they always end up double clicking and/or having deteriorated rubber grips after about a year.
Planned obsolescence GARBAGE 🗑
The best mouse I've ever owned, and one I still use even after 10 years of use, is the Mionix Naos.
Me with my 6 year old Logitech G502 still in perfect working order.

Razer products though. Those go straight in the rubbish pile. Never had a Razer product last even a single year.

The last person that actually worked on Disco Elysium got fired yesterday.

His statement on the matter

“It's the people on top – the motherf*****s in sailing shoes and bowties – that f****d Harry, f****d Kim, f****d Robert, Rostov, Helen, Olga, Cash, f****d Elysium, f****d you and me too. They are not artists, they are professional f*****s,” he said

I was watching the People Make Games documentary and it goes to show how important is to have competent people managing resources. The OG ZA/UM guys got outsmarted by a venture capitalist because they weren't very good administrators.

The state of games these days, dev are absolutely terrified to let their players actually play their games.
Devs are deadly afraid of people getting stuck even for a minute in non-puzzle games.
All the yellow paint talk that surfaced again with Final Fantasy, and for example the yap yap from Aloy and God of War NPCs is the current "solution" which sucks. Shadow of Tomb Raider is still the only game as far as I recall that gave players actual proper options with this stuff and it worked great I think.

My Razer mouse has been pretty good so far, and it makes me a real Gamer™.

It's unfortunate that they had to do that, but at least it's on Steam. Hopefully Dungeon Travelers 2 and 2-2 will come soon after it.
Wait that's meant to be the first game? The random 2 on the title mixed me up

I have a Logitech g305 which I bought in 2020. It has already started to double click. Been thinking to buy another g305. But if the infamous double click is still a problem I consider to buy from another brand. Which brand is recommended? I don't want to buy too expensive mouse

I have a MX518- the re-release if you will.
Had it for a couple years, no problems whatsoever.
Had a G502 before that, also never had a problem with it.

My G502 lightspeed from sept. 2020, still hard at work, remains the best mouse I ever had.

Before that, I had a Razer "DeathAdder" (no relation to a famous character by Rowan Atkinson, sadly). The pads started peeling off after a few months. The one before that didn't last much longer. And that's why, tough i rather liked the mouse itself, I don't touch Razer anymore :) Before that, I had a Logitech.... something... that lasted for many many years, and still exists, somewhere, in full working order.

So, as far as mice go, Logitech is in my good books.

Now, as for speakers, I could go into a colourful rant about the sheer unadulterated stupidity and hubris that is the Logitech Z407, an otherwise nice 2.1 set.... whose volume can only be controlled by a slow, finicky, capricious, fragile little dongle that gobbles AAA batteries like... like... something that gobbles a lot of batteries. As a bonus, there is a 2 second delay whenever sound starts, because the unholy thing needs to wake up, somehow.

Actually I lied, I can't go on a colourful rant about that, because each time I try to visualise the meeting where they decided not to put a volume knob on a set of speakers and call it a day, I lose all will to live; and only the living can rant.

And that's why I went with the Z623 Speakers. :smart-thinking-blob:

Going on 3 years with these bad boys and they're the best 2.1 speakers I ever had. Just a bit more pricey than the ones you listed, but not crazily so.

The Z623 was actually near the top of my list of possible replacements. It's just been promoted.

My next problem will be to find someone to whom to "gift" the Z407 and its infernal dongle; someone deserving of the pain and frustration.

Just a bit more pricey
Well, with two authentic physical knobs and an on-off button, of course it's going to be costly. But that's cutting-edge tech for you.

I feel like it's inevitable Nintendo will be next. As games take longer to make yealry salaries will quickly bump budgets too high to be able to recoup them with a single platform, especially one that will start with a smaller install base (especially if moving from a 130+ million predecessor). And just like Sony Nintendo won't be able to simply make "faster" games as the fanbase will expect a minimum level of quality (outside of Pokemon fans) especially if games will move to the 70/80 bucks range
Big hitters like Mario, Zelda, Smash and Splatoon (10 to 20 million) will be safe for longer, smaller titles (5 millions or less) will be unsustainable without a big enough userbase and honestly looking at the Steam userbase games like Fire Emblem, Metroid and Xenoblade would probably benefit the most from a pc version

Unlike Sony, Nintendo doesn't have their development budgets out of control.

Nintendo would make a killing if they start porting their old classic titles to Steam at like 15-20$ each. With Steam cards and achievements they would bring in so much additional revenue because you know Steam/PC community will eat that shit up. And they have hundreds n hundreds of games they can do that with.

But really if Nintendo ever did such a thing there is no chance they would release games on Steam. They are the type of company who will make their own storefront (as shit as it would be) and they would get away with it. They would do really well too unlike most of these other Steam competitors.

For now
Let's see if the same will be true in 5 years
I just don't see it happening unless their audience starts having higher expectations of them. Like outside of zelda most of the games they've released on switch are $50-$60 games that no other publisher could dare get away with in this day and age. As much as we all shit on nba 2k or madden/fifa, and rightly so, those games are content packed. EA wishes they could make a barebones sports game with only a couple hours of content in them like nintendo does with the mario sports games and sell them for full price. Or these simple less than 10 hour platformer games like yoshi/kirby/2D mario. Audience demands across the industry flat out erased these kinds of games everywhere (outside of very low budget indies)...except nintendo for some weird reason (and don't tell me it's because quality because mario tennis aces has a 75 and mario golf has a 71, hardly lighting the world on fire there)

I'm not saying this to troll their games as I do like some of them but the facts are the facts. No other major pub that I'm aware of sits on finished games and releases them months or even a year later because they're just that cheaply made (like the latest fire emblem game). Nintendo is just allowed to do things that no other game company can get away with anymore.

I'm playing Dead Rising 1 right now and I both like it and dislike it at the same time.

So far a number of people have already died that I could have saved. I guess I will need to to multiple playthroughs? Is there a new game+ for this game?

NG+ is kind of the point of Dead Rising.

You might not get the best, or even a good, ending on a run. But you can restart the game whenever, carrying your stats to a new run, which will help you deal with the zombies and psychopaths a lot better.
