Looks like a bunch of summer game shows have been confirmed over the past month. I haven't been paying attention but from what I've seen...

Xbox
Summer Game Fest
Ubisoft
PC gaming show

All confirmed for June so far.

Xbox = Indiana Jones, Clockwork Revolution, Avowed. + there are some rumors for new Gears.

Starfield DLC could be here too but seeing how long expansions take to make these days I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Todd again until next year.

Ubisoft = Assassins Creed Japan, Prince of Persia X Dead Cells, and their big one will be that Star Wars Outlaws game.

Summer Game Fest = will probably be when we see Dragon Age Dreadwolf. EA hasn't confirmed a show so they probably give Keighley that big trailer. Maybe a new Battlefield will be here too since Microsoft bought COD they will probably have COD at Xbox show from now on.

PC gaming show = Good fun show like always. Maybe we finally get Silksong here or its probably in the Xbox show.

As for Sony I don't think they'll do a show this summer. They confirmed no big games for this calendar year so maybe they do something smaller like in the Fall with the PS5Pro show.....but this Summer doesn't look good for them. It seems like they gave everything they had for the first half of this year in that last state of play with Kojima.

And Nintendo unveiled the first Switch in the fall of 2016 so they most likely do the same again this fall. Maybe they do a small farewell Switch direct in the summer.

But yea expecting this summer to be very lite compared to other years. Seems like some weird transition year + layoffs + delays. So its most likely gonna be quiet unless Xbox does something crazy. They seem to be the only ones in position for some megaton surprises. I don't know if people will care much about a new Gears game tho. It will have to be something bigger.

Otherwise this summer is gonna be the time to play Elden Ring expansion and/or SMTV lol. And maybe Gamescom does some big reveals.

Insanely overtuned move. I dunno what reasonable person could disagree.
Nor do I, but casual observation of steam and reddit threads might lead one to posit the existence of substantial numbers of unreasonable persons, then.

Summer Game Fest
Geoff should've picked a better name.
Doesn't evoke the same emotion as E3.
It's kind of wild that EA dumping a bunch of C&C games to steam without much fanfare made them appear on that March UK top 10 list.
Just goes to show
  1. Classics are classics for a reason
  2. Quality of games is either really dire or very saturated
So 2 of the C&C games made the top 10 sales in the UK charts for March. Both beating out Rise of Ronin.
Reason above

Well, looks like I will be waiting for the first sale on Space Marine 2. Especially when their primary reason for the price point is to not look cheap. Fuck em.

I will probably look for Nvidia code if I like gameplay when they show more. I haven't bought game directly from Ubisoft in a looooong time, I always get those promo codes XD

Saw this new Sega Saturn book but it seems crap, almost as if it's written by AI...
Amazon product
The style is shit and the sample has dubiously written dubious information like some Model 2 systems not using a battery for saves which I don't think is true...

Also the one amazon review is by its own company, lol, maybe be a bit more sublte next time.

It was really difficult coming back to my Stardew save file from 8 months ago. Kind of overwhelming at first but after you get a couple of days in the game really does suck you in hard. You get the hang of things again really quick. The game is really special.

I'm glad I didn't start a new file because I have so much seeds, vegetables and items. My cows and sprinkler system too so I don't think I have it in me to do it all again.

Also surprised after all these years no big dev out there has attempted to make a large budget game like this. I remember playing My time at Portia briefly but that really wasn't as fun. Kind of buggy and slow. But something like Stardew with at least an AA budget and big team would instantly blow up. I guess nobody wants to bother competing with Stardew. And longtime stuff like Minecraft/Terrarria already kinda absorb all the leftovers who aren't Stardew regulars.

goes without saying really.

The writing in ubisoft games is always so painfully generic and safe that you could tell people they've been using AI to write their stories for the last decade and no one would be surprised.
I don’t know. I’m all for shiting on Ubi, but I genuinely can’t recall anything from Jedi 1 apart form a protag I hated and a boring lightsaber creation (was it even in there, the fucking cave to get the crystal, snooze).
I guess my point is, let’s not act like Respawn was high art.

Buy the complete edition on Steam in 2025 for 20$.
Or just rent the ubiplus version, with ubi it is really not worth paying anything more than that. Avatar was so mediocre and I am not expecting this to be much better. And at least when renting from them, I don't have to be pissed for them stealing the game from me like they did with Crew.

Buying stuff in Taiwan is a PITA.

I have no idea if the 8bitdo Pro 2 is the hall effect sticks or not.

The hall effect versions are a little bit more expensive (at least on Amazon), and should have it in their name somewhere. Not sure how one would render that in Chinese, but if it does not mention anything that sounds like hall effect, or speaks about new thumb sticks in some form, then I would assume it's the old version.

AliExpress has them, do they not ship to Taiwan? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002358485206.html (if you do buy here, make sure to select a color that has "Hall" following it, not "ALPS". Alps are the old type of thumbstick that can drift. The prices here are the same for both versions, which feels like price gouging on the part of AliExpress

What the hell is that base price on Ali!? That's over 100 USD lol. Unless they do that so the 60% deal looks good. Cheaper than what I linked on PC home heh. Stuff he lettuces are working up in NTD I must ain't they ship here.

Talking about 8bitdo, I'm interested in getting the Hall Effect version of their wireless non-Bluetooth Ultimate controller (yes, I think that's the shortest accurate and understandable way to describe that model :p). It has been listed as releasing on the 30th of April on German Amazon for several months now, and I'm really curious if this is actually going to happen.

(The reason I'm particularly interested in that model is that I never had a Hall Effect controller before, and since for this one I already have the exact same one with "traditional" sticks that would allow me to do a 1:1 comparison; I also like that it doesn't have a silly price just because it uses "fancy" sticks that are actually not significantly more costly to source)

Add me to the literally never heard of it team, and it's not only that the name has been used by 50 other different things, it's also that it doesn't tell anything about it.
It's apparently a shooter where you can move the bullet after each kill, so it's more of a puzzle game... with arcade sensibilities? But it rally refers to the cult that you're apparently hunting down, something that does not appear for one second in the gameplay video they have.

And it does not interest me one bit. So I'm not sure what kind of numbers they were expecting to begin with... but I sure know where the majority of the budget went when they have 28 reviews on MC while something like Omori has 6 (and 67k+ user reviews on Steam...).
I wonder how much those "trusted" reviews cost Devolver.
