If i can i always post context when posting tweets. There is still limit for number of media posts so sometimes it's not possible.

Also remember how i complained that "Play Next" Section is not rotating games for months? Well since then it is regularly rotating games XD So who is one that works at Valve? XD

For anyone interested
15% off Steam Deck LCD units on Steam
64GB $296.65
512GB $381.65
I wonder how low Valve can get these down to once the Switch 2 launches next year.

Because it is likely they will be power equivalent. If Valve can get the 64gb version down to 250$ it will be a good alternative for those who can't get their hands on the Switch 2 lol since it will be sold out all over the world.

It's a bit pointless to speculate. Kinda wish people stopped posting links to Twitter, it's less than useless. If you can, make screenshots showing enough of the context to understand what's going on. Just one level of replies might not be enough, as seen here. I don't understand why so many people linger on that shitty platform, but please don't pose links to the place expecting me to register there to understand what I'm supposed to be reading
There's not any more context to add, it's just that tweet. Rami Ishmail obviously didn't want to quote the developer so he did this cheeky 'random tweet' thing. Personally I find it in bad taste. It's not just that he didn't reply to the person directly, it's also that the developer went through the effort of making a video explaining his position and the reply he got was "no lol".

Are we getting flash sales back??? The fuck is this deep discount section
I'm guessing they just do a special category for 85%+ or 90%+ discounts. Kind of makes sense and it would definitely have some devs/games stand out this way.

Also would be helpful for those who don't have a big wishlist and don't sort by discount during sale time.

And even those who do can still overlook a lot of heavily discounted games if they are not on their wishlist.

So this section would be beneficial to everyone.

yeah thats how i read it, and i also find it in bad taste. that is trolling. he is ignorant about the matter and unable or unwilling to see facts, other viewpoints or arguments. its pointless to argue with people like that, they'll never admit they're wrong.

It's just such a tired debate. There is no argument why suddenly 30% should be too much on PC for some reason when the same people don't seem to question why Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are so deserving of getting 30% on their locked down entertainment boxes. There's plenty wrong in this industry, but Valve managing to get a loyal customer base by providing consistently good service is not one of them. There is no moral obligation for them to give anyone a bigger share, without Valve most of those game would barely sell anything on PC. EGS is a unprofitable joke without any real audience, so I have no fucking idea what that comment about 12% is about. I assume they are talking about some random numbers Epic posts that show how through creative accounting they have some kind of "profit", while also being forced to layoff people because their biggest money source, Fortnite, is floundering.

It's all such a nonsensical debate and it's kinda tiring to see people even surface this stuff, honestly.

Oh you know well enough why the argument is so frequent. It's "console wars", or more specific as a user said in the other place "it's unfair that one platforms gets all the games!". Valve's cut is bad because they fear the more Steam grows, the less important the other platforms (and thus their expensive TV set ups) are going to be. Of course everyone knows consoles will always exist as the cheap option but that doesn't stop that growing fear deep inside all of them
Remember: Epic was always in bed with Sony. Always has been. The point of the EGS, as clearly written in one of the Apple trial slides, was to "disturb Steam's organic growth" and they were planning to use "influencers" to help. And you know, "30% bad" sounds like a good sounding way to disrupt Steam. Of course the whole thing fumbled all the way back but I still remember how dominated by the EGS and the cut every pc discussion was. Every new trailer was filled with "this is definitely going to be an EGS exclusive" especially if they used Unreal. Articles were written about how "more and more publishers are planning to abandon Steam". Steam users were mocked for being part of the church of Gaben and for crying every time a new exclusive was announced. If you gamed on Steam you were soon to be part of the loser team, so feel free to move to consoles. They're much cheaper than modern GPUs after all

Too bad some people in 2024 still don't realize the whole plan failed. I don't blame them though, since no one could predict just how big PC gaming was turning out to be, but most of all no one predicted budgets would grow so much the PS5 userbase is literally incapable of supporting most games alone. With the EGS dead in the water, and Steam's organic growth not stopping anytime soon, it became obvious joining the winner's team was a necessity. But I guess some really like rooting for the loser team despite all common sense

I think the internet is slowly getting to me. I used to be much more calm and patient even when talking with obvious trolls but lately I've noticed that my fuse has become shorter. I don't like it but I am not sure what to do about it.
I have noticed that people online have become much, much stupider in extremely recent times. Like exponentially growing stupidity. I've been around a while, I don't think it's just me.

TBH, I think it's actually being driven by societal and social issues. Just a lot of bad shit is going on and people are angry, or upset, and looking for scapegoats and looking for things to fear.

Downunder.
I've become more irate if I spend time on the internet for too long these days. I don't even have to actively participate in a discussion. Simply looking at fan arts has conditioned my brain to take a look at the artist's profile first to ensure they're not employing any AI slop.

When it turns out that the “artist” is using Stable Diffusion or whatever, I become upset at myself for thinking that their “art” was good in the first place. This has happened more than once. I wonder when I would start to hate myself for enjoying arts and discovering new artists.

Such is the nature of the internet these days; so yeah. I won't blame anyone if no one has the patience for this shite anymore. :flare_lmao:

Originally I thought Metaphor would be THE JRPG of the year for me. However, after Atlus pulling a SMTVV instead of updating the original game, as well as the announcement of DQ3, Brothership and Fantasian, my interest in Metaphor is eclipsed for now. Choosing between those three will be an incredibly hard choice.

They added anti cheat (Battle Eye) to the remaster of 20 year old game. For the love of God Ubisoft...
The banner image doesn't look good...

I didn't notice it at first, but the ratio between width and height of the logo in the banner is different than the logo in the embedded Steam link

Trying out some old JRPG in my library cause I feel like it and hey, modders fixed FF13 PC now.
Uncap framerate, no frame drops when 2D elements are drawn in the HUD. (this is a big one I remembered back in release day)
Only need to wait 6-7 years!

The game still looks very good in 2024. Just need to download GBs of mods for textures, and maybe 100 GBs more for better FMV quality :p

Stellar Blade PC info:

"The game is a PS5 exclusive, which hasn't seen the same level of penetration and activation as PS4, and the main consumer base for AAA games has been shifting to PCs. We are currently looking at a PC version of Stellar Blade, which we believe would be a great way to monetize the IP once again."

In fact, Shiftup revealed in a securities filing that it is considering a PC version of Stellar Blade and a sequel. However, Shift Up CEO Kim Hyeong-tae said, "We are currently reviewing a PC version of Stellar Blade, and since we are in a contractual relationship, please understand that we cannot tell you about the exact timing or availability."

Gonna go on vacation this week, will take my Steam Deck with me, so if I finish any games, I will only have time to give it scores in the review thread.

Just started up Yakuza 0, game definetly feels old, but still very good noneless. Good that I can finish it on my Deck if I don't have the time to finish it at home before I leave for vacation.

I appreciate the port, but honestly the filter looks like shit.
I don't know exactly what they were working with in terms of source materials, but scaling very low res sprites in a way that most people like is extremely hard.

I don't think that's a reason not to offer it for those who do like it, but it's certainly a reason to always provide options to use either scaled or original assets (ideally separate options per asset type).
