Yep. Hard to be excited for these technologies when AAA devs use it as a crutch to hit the same framerates and resolutions we used to have but now with stutters and worse image quality.
The 5000 series looks good, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't slightly perturbed I jumped in the 4000 series, but I can hold off for now.
An official Steam Deck Geforce Now app is nifty. I might subscribe to it for a month to see how the performance is docked.They are also updating the other DLSS technologies which will benefit RTX 20, 30, and 40 series users.

Man I so hope they stick to this style and concept, totally opposite from most fighters adding juggles and specials and shit (and even VF fell victim to this to look more stylish like Tekken adding impact glows and shit like that after the first 3-4 games that were attempting to be martial arts simulators).

I'm annoyingly tempted to buy VF5 to try the series out for the first time. It's a shame it couldn't have been on PC when I was in college and first trying out fighting games.

Yeah, that's probably a pretty misleading bit of marketing hype. I also haven't been too impressed with DLSS3 framegen thus far (I haven't used it extensively, but in every game I've tried it in, I saw noticeable artifacting, especially when moving the camera horizontally), so idk how multiple AI-generated frames are going to look in practice
I'm probably going to buy the 5080 soon, just waiting for a Yeston variant or a black and purple GPU to release, since I want something to match the Hyte Y70 Honkai Star Rail case I bought for a new desktop setup.
I wonder if the new transformer model for DLSS 4 is going to fix the ghosting problem with temporal solutions. Will be interesting to hear the opinion from someone like ThreatInteractive who constantly derails against TAA solutions.
Multi-frame generation being easy to enable in games that already have DLSS FG support is neat, but since this seemingly is a driver-side setting, I wonder how it's going to work on Proton, since I can't see myself using Windows 11 for that much longer.
What's interesting is that the 5070 is only 30% better than the 4070 on average in Far Cry 6, because it lacks DLSS or FG support, meaning they probably just got that 4090 comparison based on the DLSS stuff being there. The 5090 has twice the bandwidth, AI TOPS, and VRAM, so no wonder it's exactly 2x the cost of the 5080. To me it seems like these prices while having less AI compute is specifically designed to ring AI users for more money.

I'm curious about the Switch 2 and how well will it sell. I'm sure that it will eventually sell over 100 million units, but will it be able to reach the 146 million that Switch 1 sold? Or do you think something happened between then and now to make it where it will fall a few tens of millions units short?
Will parents still buy them for their kids or will price play a roll until Switch Lite comes around and knocks the price back down to something closer to $200.

Nintendo console is always about exclusive. Switch 1 had a very successful first year which led to subsequently great years, thanks to a carefully-calculated launch schedule of games.

Zelda fans -> Breath of the Wild
eSport crowd -> Splatoon 2
JRPG folks -> Xenoblade 2
Fire Emblem fans -> Fire Emblem Warriors
Pokemon fans -> Let's Go Pikachu / Eevee
They managed to get nearly every spectrum of Nintendo fans on board in the first year, and I think they will try to replicate it in 2025. Now with the success of Switch 1, they should be able to get some good third parties to fill in the gaps, too. FF7 remake and rebirth are very likely, imo.

As long as they price it correctly (under 400$) and it has BC it should be fine. maybe not 150 million but it will definitely reach 100-120 million which is still a big win for them.
First few years will be about launch window titles. A new 3D mario and Metroid Prime will boost them from the beginning. They always do some nice casual titles too like Kart or Smash. There will be some big surprises too like Xenoblade or Pokemon or something. Some decent 3rd party support will help too since the Switch should be as powerful as the Deck. Plus you have potential for uprezed ports and rereleaes/remasters. They probably have a lot line up since so many titles had poor performance and framerate on the first Switch.
Unless there is serious inventory/hardware issues...or the device does some stupid gimmick....they should be able to sell 15-20 million units per year. And match the first Switch for many years.
This version isn't coming to PC (no announcement/hint to it) but if yall are curious about Ys Memoire (I covered most of this in my preview), my full review is up on RPG Site. Instead of being the definitive edition, it is just a good portable version of a fantastic game.
Falcom should've gotten PH3 to do it instead of an internal release.

New record for the steam sale for me. I played 3 of the games I bought within a week of purchase unlike prior sales where I just bought games and did nothing with them.
