So uh, since I'm going through my first (1.5th? I played a bit pre 2.0 then bounced) of Cyberpunk 2077, I need to ask

Phantom Liberty, I know it has a new ending in it - Is Phantom Liberty's content a whole other "Route" of the game that breaks off into its own endgame, or does it converge-back into the main game's route and add on to it?

Just want to make sure that I'm not "missing out" on a chunk of the Vanilla game by playing through PL's quests when I get around to that. Since, like, the PL Quest in the questlog has an ominous "Get your affairs in order" message on its description.

I didn't expect any different but still bummed out by the lack of ultrawide support for Rebirth. At least they bothered to implement DLSS this time, I guess...
The fact that S-E is apparently proud enough to market a port which doesn't have arbitrary aspect ratio support (or at the very least, 21:9) is just sad. A publisher of that size for a game of that reach has absolutely no excuse.

Nah, you're good. Playing the PL questline to its conclusion doesn't end the game. You still need to finish the base game's story to get the new ending.

Ubisoft is done man
I hope they can find a way to separate the games fron their launcher as a final sendoff so whoever ends up owning the ips can still profit from and sell them on Steam instead of making their entire catalogue unplayable forever

For a second I thought about buying some Ubisoft shares to see if I could get a decent profit off the Premium from a full-buyout but

Then I took one glance at their share value and collapsed into laughter. They're fucking skirting Delisting right now.

Yeah don't buy Video Game related stocks.

Their trailer got a good laugh out of me when they proudly listed PC features such as : mouse and keyboard support and not 1, not 2, but 3 graphical presets.

It's such a joke. They're advertising how terrible their port is as a feature. It will probably sell well and I'm part of the problem.

Im not opposed to AC Shadows getting more time to cook, I am still looking forward to it!
Yeah me too, this game seems like the last hail Mary from the company. And I know is easy to shit on Ubisoft, but I genuinely believe that their developers are crazy talented and hopefully they finally deliver a good video game.

At this point into 3d rendering you need Alex Battaglia in every game to see the differences lmao. All 3 look great to me.

I can live with a barebones port, as long as it works. But it's equal parts baffling and hilarious to me that S-E can't seem to figure out 21:9 support for the latest release in their flagship franchise. Meanwhile, I've been playing Yakuza 5 Remastered, a port of what was originally a PS3-only game, and that somehow has decent ultrawide support out of the box lol.

I know there's likely going to be a mod for Rebirth pretty quickly and I'll definitely use it. But that usually means when you open up a menu, you still see the game being rendered on the sides of the screen and that always bugs me. It's a minor thing, though.

So decided to sit down and try and determine my GOTY for last year. Problem is, I can't.

So looking back at all the stuff I played last year and there wasn't a single thing I played (that was released last year) that I could see as being worthy of that nomination. The main things I played that where new where:-

Space Marine 2, fun for a while but got bored of the base game. I like my 40K tactical & strategic, roll on Mechanicum 2.

Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, very fun game but still in early access and being developed.

Helldivers 2, at time of release I would have given it game of the year. But with all the messing around with nerfs, the devs actively trying their best to make the game actually less fun to play and then fucking over parts of the world with PSN bullshit. Yeah the luster fell off that one quickly, meant to be back to it's former glory but just not felt the urge to go back to it.

Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail. I enjoyed my time with the MSQ, the post patch content has been good if you are more a hardcore raider but not a great deal to do endgame at the moment. Plus not matter how I look at it, it's a bit of a let down after the heights of Shadowbringers and Endwalker.

Logiart Grimoire is probably the closest I have come to giving a game GOTY. It is all of the Picross goodness you can want from the same developers as the switch version. Except they have over complicated it a bit. All I want from a picross game is the puzzles.

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown. Another major contender, up until the point I didn't actually finish it. Great game, but something about it just couldn't get me to the end.

Path of Exile 2. Been a great game so far, lots of fun. But still in development and probably nowhere near it's final form.

The First Descendant, lots of fun to play. But F2P shenanigans, the grind if you don't want to spend and the somewhat horny nature of the game (the amount of bare arses on the screen every time I load in to the main hub, not sure how my graphics card handles it) takes the edge of it.

Instead I find myself wanting to give it to Stardew Valley, The Calamity Mod for Terraria, Tetris Effect. All games I enjoyed far more than last years releases and all games that came out far earlier than last year.

However this year has Citizen Sleeper 2 early on, so hopefully a lot easier to find a game of the year for it.

Managed to get FF16 demo running at a respectable state. :cuteblob: FSR performance + 30->60fps through Lossless Scaling performance mode. Honestly the game doesn't look bad at all even with the two performance modes on. Apparently the constant stutter I posted before was a product of MSI Afterburner. Turn it off and the stutter is gone.

Now wait for the update on LS today to reduce ghosting and improve latency. Can't wait.

This shot makes me watch the video. I honestly can't find many differences other than the mountain in the distance and the fur of Red XIII.

I don't know if this is worth a separate thread, but I can make one if required, but I was wondering if it would be interesting to guess what the peak CCU would be for the notable (imo) games coming out this month (and then one for next month as well). Thoughts?
  1. Dynasty Warriors Origins
  2. Blade Chimera
  3. Assetto Corsa EVO (early access)
  4. Tales of Graces f Remastered
  5. Ender Magnolia (leaving early access)
  6. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
  7. Star Wars Ep 1 Jedi Power Battles
  8. Synduality
  9. Tails of Iron II
  10. Virtua Fighter 5 REVO
  11. Hello Kitty Island Adventure
  12. Spider-Man 2
  13. Citizen Sleeper 2
