Saving PC gaming by funding ambitiousGood guy EGS.
Is there any information about how Ms pays devs or publishers when their games hit game pass? Are they being paid for each download our hour played, or are they getting a fixed amount of money each month?I'll be definitely using GamePass for Exodus, Outer Worlds, Phoenix Point and other Epic (not-so-)exclusives.
No. In fact if your game doesnt sell a single copy Epic will pay you extra. So technically by waiting for the Steam release we’re helping developers more by making them eligible for a free additional paycheck from Epic.Between the EGS deals and the Gamepass deals, do these games really need to sell any copy to be profitable?
I was bummed seeing Annapurna but glad to see its planned for Steam.
As much as I want Outer Worlds as part of my Steam collection, I'll just sub to game pass for it so I can play on launch. Same with Afterparty.I like this timeline where MS is the good guy.

Tales of Arise is confirmed for Steam. Ni No Kuni will definitely be Steam too. Elden Ring has a generic PC logo listed though. Hopefully thats not exclusive.I just hope the Bamco stuff isn’t EGS locked for a year, I am mostly interested in their games and Cyberpunk.
Good lord... Not to sound like a broken record, but Cyberpunk and Doom Eternal and Destiny 2 having shit regional pricing is just taking the piss.
I've given up on reasonable regional pricing from big publishers a long time ago.
No more day 1 AAA for me, except Cyberpunk perhaps. I wouldn't be able to resist Cyberpunk.
yeah ... pretty much all big publishers have already given up on regional pricing ... and it's only been getting worse and worse with each release ... right now at least 2 or 3 of them don't go below 40-50% lower prices in the poorest region (while volvo's recommendations are at around 74-78% lower for those regions), so .... yeah ....Was just about to type the same thing about Doom including the sounding like a broken record part....
I mean, over here (Brazil) we are actually paying more than the US, $64.20... That's not how regional pricing is supposed to work
that's capitalism for ya ... they always need to make more and more money, because earning the same amount you did the previous year is considered a failure ... so they have to squeeze more and moreYeah. I'm wondering if the "store-wars" have actually given publishers the leeway to run a "Steam tax". They're now so confident that consumers would rather pay more for Steam versions, even in countries where low-salary can make US prices exorbitant, that they don't care about the lost-sales from overpricing. Which is directly contradictory to the lessons that Valve taught publishers years ago - lower the cost in poorer regions to negate piracy and get more sales. But perhaps the PC gaming market is now large enough that that lesson is no longer relevant, outside of, say, Russia and China.
yes ... wishlist it and wait 12 months for the egsclusivity to end
it's not ... all Bamco games are coming to steam day oneI just hope the Bamco stuff isn’t EGS locked for a year, I am mostly interested in their games and Cyberpunk.
Do you have a source on elden ring? Seems like it’d be a hot target for Epicit's not ... all Bamco games are coming to steam day one
Iirc tales of arise has a generic pc logo as well but Iashy-kun is saying it’ll be on steam... if he’s just toying with my pure heart I’ll drown this forum in animu gifs!Tales of Arise is confirmed for Steam. Hope Tim won’t sweep in at the last minute for both this and Elden Ring
apparently KH3 will be egsclusiveNo Japanese games have been announced as EGS exclusive (yet?), so I wouldn't worry about them. They're all coming to Steam.
Considering how much the KH team jacked off Epic at GDC im expecting it and FFVII to go egs. Good thing im too impatient and I preordered it on ps4 in 2013!apparently KH3 will be egsclusive
but, like i said, all Bamco games are definitely coming to steam
A shame I was looking forward to it coming to pc.apparently KH3 will be egsclusive
If I have to predict the first big Japanese publisher that'll submit to EGS, it's SE. They definitely have no honor.apparently KH3 will be egsclusive

Luftrousers
Hello, I am Rami Ismail, ½ of Dutch independent game development studio, Vlambeer. We made a version of Luftrausers that had a typo, and JW left the thumbdrive containing the source at a coffee shop somewhere while I was doing a talk in Berlin, then Nairobi, then in Los Angeles the following day. If you find the thumbdrive, can you please return it and please PLEASE do not share the contents with anyone or add it to a compilation of pirated, under-the-table ripoffs of games that Devolver has published.

Tropic like it’s hot; critically acclaimed retro platformer The Messenger gets a free expansion on July 11, 2019!
I don't understand a lot about how those Mixer giveaways work (I never used it, so I'm pretty much clueless), but when Outer Wilds was announced as an EGS exclusive, I saw plenty of people mentioning "that game from the MS Mixer giveaway", or asking if they were still getting it for free, so that's probably where you got your free copy.Eh, don't even try to make sense of things anymore.
So I checked my microsoft store games and I somehow have Outer Wilds. Never fucking bought it. Buttttt when I double checked, I possess it on "surface hub" and it will seemingly only play on Xbox. Nothing to see, my usual luck.
Not that I care really, but it was a nice gift for the little time I thought I possessed it.
Anybody can explain this nonsense ? A mixpot gift maybe ?
That's a surprise! I expected all future Annapurna games to be EGS exclusive.
Seems they've learned nothing from the RotTR exclusivity dealA shame I was looking forward to it coming to pc.
Kinda expected SE to be the first to do this.
I have played the first few worlds of KH1 and didn't like it (Tarzan's was a candidate for worst level of all time), so if the PC port dies a horrible death I won't shed a single tearI haven't played most KH games so until The Story So Far hits Steam Epic can keep KH3.
Same.I haven't played most KH games so until The Story So Far hits Steam Epic can keep KH3.
Same. I've borrowed the ps4 version of KH3 and I didn't like it either. My daughter enjoyed watching me play thoI have played the first few worlds of KH1 and didn't like it
