Since the first came to Steam and apparently we’re getting Majikoi as well on Steam I think it’s likely

edit:

During JAST USA’s panel at Anime Expo 2019, the publisher announced that the Tenco developed turn-based strategy game Eiyuu*Senki GOLD will be coming west to PC-via Steam sometime soon, and it will be completely uncensored.

Somewhere else
This is the followup game to Death Mark. I didn't realise they're turning this into a series.

Death Mark is currently 50% off if any of you is interested. I also posted an impression of it a couple of months ago.

Death Mark is also available at Fanatical for 50% off and additional 10% off with the code FANATICAL10.

For anyone seeking further proof that we're living in the weirdest time-line, Saya no Uta is apparently coming to Steam later this month:
Very interesting. I assume the sexual content will be at least somewhat toned down, I don't think it would work under current Steam rules.

(note: I don't think that would really affect the quality of the game in this case)

Tbh I'm curious to know that as well, Valve has supposedly (given the wording) approved this

Good to see Robotics;Notes finally making it to the West.

Now, if someone finally made that 12riven translation patch available my VN life would've been complete.

Nice! I really liked the anime.

What's the difference between Elite and regular version? Is this like Steins;Gate where the Elite version has anime scenes/artstyle (I think)?

(Or is there even a "regular" version)

new scenes and improvements to the 3d models according to whoever wrote the VNDB entry

To my knowledge S;G Elite is the only one that did that "anime conversion" (mostly because I don't remember my twitter feed blowing up with other announcements like it did for S;GE lol), although personally I enjoyed it, it felt like marathoning a huge anime.

There is a "regular" Version, I have it on PS3.

If I remember right though the only differences were a few new features, some new animations in the story, and since Elite was a Vita game, they redid the 3D-models to "optimize" them for Vita. (Imo, they were downgraded, less polygons and details.)

So... hopefully the PC version does away with the Vita models and brings back the more detailed PS3 models. Somehow I doubt it though.

Either way I'm just happy for Steam versions of all these things so far. (y)

Does Majikoi have a Steam page? That's another one where I'd like to ditch my PS3 copy for a more permanent solution on Steam...

I hope it comes to Steam.

Nice batch of updates from Sekai Project.
A Kickstarter for Rewrite+ physical merc is cool, though I can understand that people are skeptical about Sekai Project running more kickstarter projects.

Work starting on -9-nine part 3 is also great, though I was hoping we'd get a release date for part 2.

No Steam page yet, but the pre-order page states that the limited edition includes a "Steam Download Card", which is presumably a card with a Steam key on it.
So I'll fell damn miffed if it doesn't come to Steam.

nekonyan announced aokana extra1

AOKANA EXTRA1 IS COMING
Hey guys, we got some news for you!

With AX currently going on, we figured we should also at least announce one title.
So with our Aokana Physical Kickstarter still in full swing, what better time to officially announce Aokana Extra1 on this occasion?

It would, however, be pretty boring if we only made the announcement and that was it, wouldn't it?

We don't really want boring, and for that reason, there is also going to be some additional Extra1 merch for you to get your hands on.

Everyone who has purchased a physical version of Aokana is going to receive the poster for free and the tapestry is going to be available
as an add-on.

We're also going to reveal the new stretch goal soon after the 60,000€ one has been met, so look forward to that.

We would also like to use this opportunity to extend our thanks to the amazing support the campaign has received so far.
All of us sincerely hope you're just as excited as us about this announcement and the upcoming Aokana release!
More information will be revealed at a later date!

I've just cleared Chizuru's route in Muv-Luv Unlimited.

:wd_rain:

I'll be needing some time to process all of this. (And also, to do the other routes as well.)
Routes in unlimited are not terribly exciting (they are near identical), so don't feel obligated to read them all.

But now you've gotten to the best part of the series and you have a lot to look forward to :D

Well, according to its Wiki page, it "featur[es] new features". Guess the Wikipedia author wanted to play it safe.

The news about Robotics;Notes made me remember I haven't checked Chaos;Head or Chaos;Child from that series yet. I see that Child is on steam so I might get it from there. I guess there's still no news about a possible official release of Chaos;Head ?

From what I read, people seem to be 50/50 on playing Chaos;Head or Chaos;Child first anyway.

vndb overview

"By what means could those girls have escaped the depths of the sea alive. Perhaps, had they made other choices, the result may have been different?"

August 1st 2033. A deep sea cruise submarine sinks to the murky ocean floor 700m below the surface.

50 lives were lost in an instant. The remaining passengers, left to figure out the path to their survival.

But, at the depths of the ocean, there existed a threat they had never imagined.

An eternal replay of records and memories... Can the fragment of "two survivors", save them in the end?

"Who lives, who dies, you are the one that decides."

This is a novel game with no correct answer.
It's a Kickstarter, it'll have a switch stretch goal (it was ported to switch last year)

I won't be backing it but being sci-fi has me interested a bit, so I might pick it up when it's out

I wouldn't call myself an otome fan, but I occasionally enjoy one or two with great art and when the protagonist isn't just a useless damsel.

I REALLY liked Collar x Malice, so consider me duly upset it still isn't on PC...

Sad news, but I'm sure Ciconia will be worth the wait (via The 07th Network and whatever translation service that Twitter uses):
It is a dragon knight 07. I am sorry to hear you today .... Thank you very much for your help! And I am trying hard to make Kiconia, but there is the adjustment of the size of the volume, the system, etc., and the completion seems to be delayed a little. Master-up plan is [end of September]. → Continue →

As "Sumi Umiko Sako" is also in the final adjustment of the system, it will be a master upgrade at the same time. So, I think that it will be just before and after the relatives meeting that you can deliver the software to you. All of the staff members are working hard at their best, so please forgive me .... →

→ I think that this work has become very intrusive. Maybe I can not draw the same thing again. In that sense, I can not wipe out the fear that you will miss it. But I still believe that there are people who will accept me ... I will somehow go to completion.

announced during the sekai panel, but on the Nekopara anime premiere they announced that 5 is being worked on, so 4 announcement is official and 5 is more like "yeah we're working on it and it's coming"

Sol Press making their own store... ffs. Every VN pub is making their own now and it's getting hard to follow. The launcher split-up is seriously demotivating too, so honestly, curse Valve for what it has driven these pubs to do.

Iirc that was always planned, the good thing is that Denpasoft/Sekai, Sol Press, Nekonyan all release on JAST store after Valve had its first VN debacle, so at least JAST covers most titles outside of MG.
MG for whatever reason seems to play ball with other stores only with their oldest titles or only a fraction of the new stuff, I guess to keep as much earnings as possible.

JAST + MG + Steam has so far been the best combination, so as long as they keep releasing on JAST at least I'll be moderatly happy

I would honestly like a single store for everything but I have since lost all hope, the only stores claiming that want to unify the VN market only went for full-on porn games and even then they lack most of MG catalogue.
The main issue as I see it is that due to the content most of stores deal in all it'd take is a badly written law against porn or declining sales (being niche stuff and all) to shut them down, while Steam is going to outlast all of them.
Also Denpasoft store is a such a mess that seems to be coming right out of the dark ages of digital distribution, there's still no way to download games from their stores without saving the email link they send you.

VN pubs having their own stores was the standard before Valve started screwing around, the standard before Valve allowed adult content on Steam, and even the standard before Steam became a place that people went to buy VNs. The main problem is that the only open marketplace (other than Steam) is DLSite, and they require that all games be censored in accordance with Japanese laws.

Maybe Hyourin will be an open marketplace, which would be a nice development, but most likely it'll just be Sol Press products (VNs, LNs, and Manga) and (maybe) a small number of titles from other publishers.

Speaking of otome games, we have all of these announcements and still not a single peep from XSEED about the PC version of London Detective Mysteria.

:wd_shaking:
Ah that's true... and it's been quite a long time since the Vita release too back in December. I hope they haven't just like quietly canceled it...?

You'll encounter more disturbing imagery (point your torch/flashlight into the darkness even when there's no item to be found) as you solve the cases. Best experienced with headphones.
Yep! I was playing that way on my Switch.
