After a couple of hours, the platforming in Horace can be a little frustrating, but the story so far is very well told and overall I'm really enjoying it.

What do you mean wait? I'm already very familiar with the doctor's finger :p
Eh, I made my doctor laugh when I said to her that I found the way specialist shake your hand a little peculiar.

The GPU doesn't seem to be that important... Look, Asura's Wrath running on a 750ti:
well that's encouraging

It was touch-and-go when my wife went "Aghghgghgh spider!"

But then I realised it was smaller than a UK house spider, so shrugs. :D
it was probably lethal, though ... most animals and insects in Straya™ seem to be :p

Ok ah ah, all this talk about Nier lead me to try rpcs3 again, and it is still shit. I don't know how to fix this.

Nier
Ryzen 2600x
Geforce 970
16 gb ddr4
vanilla 720p with big ugly aliasing

28-30 fps at first, nice
7 fps when activating dark hand
15 fps (don't remember exactly) when moving on the main map
-> unplayable

And the cherry on top, like the last time I tried :
Can't reload the game, nope, fuck you
It loaded and played fine (well, all being relative), but once I close it I get an error when relaunching. Access violation of some sort.

Ooook, so no, not like last time. The issue was definitely the user this time. Don't change Default Resolution, never.
But I'm still at 15fps on the main map. Unless I missed a very important setting, playable on modest rigs my ass.

I don't want to have to play it on my PS3 :notlikethisblob:
I have a 4K TV, pretty sure it will try to divide by zero and then we will all be in deep shit.

this better come to PC...

This as well...

Man, China has some talent and needs to spread them wings. Localization companies should really start knockin'.
FWIW, Anno Mutationem was confirmed for PC way before the PS4 version, so expect a Vane situation with this one.
(edit: forgot to mention that the PC confirmation was made in a chinese forum, I will try to re-find it)
As for Ai Limit, who knows but sure hope so.

You are not wrong.
Bishi nier is too dull unfortunately.
It's the same exact character but with a different skin. Just replace all mentions of daughter with sister. 99% of their dialog is the same. Although I'd say in the 2nd half, Bro NieR gets a bit darker than Papa, who really just gets more determined... How many people present actually played the JP version anyway?

Also all the side content and Grimoire NoiR is written with Brother NieR in mind.

To me its just that cute looking boys is something you have in a lot Japanese media, middle aged single fathers on the other hand basically never.

Not to diminish your personal preference, but it just feels more novel to me and I think that also fits better into a cast of unusual misfits.

Tho I'd definitely appreciate a remaster giving you the choice to play either.

Ah, so no story from Japan can be about siblings, tragedy or not, because it's automatically a trope?

Now this I actually get, and I don't even disagree, it's just that... My personal preference literally hinges on the fact that I have younger siblings, and an older Brother's pain is 100% real to me. Doubly so, now that I've lost one such sibling. :crying-face:

Like Papa NieR's struggle isn't lost on me, don't get me wrong, but I just feel so much more relatable to Bro NieR it's not even funny.

Of course personal projections can make a huge difference in how you can relate to the characters.
As i'm neither someones brother or father it's really just the same to me in that regard, but it's understandable that someone who is a brother can relate to brother nier more than to the papa nier.

B-b-but Jonathan Blow said Chinese can't develop games, they can just copycat Western/Japanese ideas.

I normally wouldnt have an issue with such a plot concept except that this is a japanese developed game.
It is damn near difficult for me to conceptualize it otherwise or expect them not to have that concept in mind to appeal to a demographic.

Mind u ive mainly been against the theme of the main character; i have nothing against any who prefer it.

I think it's finally time to play Final Fantasy XIII - I actually wanted to play FFVIII again and finish it this time but I will wait for the Remaster to be out.

And you all complained about my quiet man challenge smh
Not completely related but you remembered that I 'wanted' to pick Quiet Man during the summer sale but ended missing it, oh well.

I've played both. I like boys who are pretty.

Also, for me without children but with younger siblings, the brother/sister aspect hits harder and closer to home than the father/daughter one.
It's always the Bishonen, that's why I thought Nier G was cool since not that many JRPGs have a father/daughter relationship and I guess in some weird way there are the FE games that do have a parent system but I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't really count those (especially because of the time gap difference). I will protect Yonah with my life!!! And I'm not even a parent, I do have a younger sibling but are relationship is very different so I could not relate to this game in that sense, seeing how I have an annoying sister that some times likes to make fun of me as apposed to some one that looks up to me.

Ok, I don't want to disturb the thread, maybe I should create an emulation thread, but I'm a lazy bum.
What I fail to understand, and remember that I'm stupid, is that neither GPU nor CPU seem to be taxed.
RPCS3 is still in alpha... Some games run great, other games run like ass.
You should read their monthly progress report... some of the stuff they manage to fix in a month's time is impressive!
