There was a nation-wide blackout for 10+ hours over here. No electricity means no internet, no traffic lights, no public lights, no e-money, most ATM not working, no MRT, etc. Can't imagine how it affects business.

It was a nightmare.

Sounds like Indonesia needs to diversify its energy production. A single plant having a partial failure shouldn't bring down energy to the entire metropolitan area around the capital.
Here's hoping critical institutions like hospitals had backup power throughout the whole thing.

and another one as i cant sleep :-/

Damn, it’s 4 in the morning, I don’t like fighting games, I’m a totally mediocre player in that kind of game and... EVO was fabulous.
I need Tekken. Every fighting game is tempting. Let’s hope reason sets over, I can’t buy shit.

Oh God, what have I done ?!
Still need Cross Tag but I'm not made of money. In fact I really should put the priority on stopping cigs. Burning down money is not fun in 2019 France. 8 euros the pack. I know I should be more worried about my health but I'm also a firm believer that you can do good things for the wrong reasons, and that it's fine.

I don't like EVO because I want to buy every fucking game and then proceed to play none of them.
I'm planning to be a realist and not go anywhere within 100 miles of the online modes. I would prefer to keep my sanity, my keyboard, pad and monitor intact.
That being said some Meta sessions without pressure, why not.

In fact that remind me of something that crossed my mind when I was playing the SF5 free week end today. Normal mode is cool, I can beat it with some rare hiccups, it's cool it's... for fuck's sake the opponents are barely moving ! That saddened me greatly.

Yeah, I don't like to play fighting games with randos anyway. But with you guys sure why not :)

I did a lot wrong in my life, but quitting ciggies is one of my best life decision I ever took. There's plenty of other ways to burn cash away, but if I'm to burn some, spending it on games is a much better option imo. I'm definitely enjoying it more because my clothes won't smell like an ashtray. I hope you'll consider quitting again in the near future!

This month normally, tomorrow if I’m feeling bold. I have my patches ready.

New guilty gear looking hype

New character is sexy and a great addition imo.

If you sre playing sf5, save up the fm for the 2500 fm weekly challenges to get free alt. Outfits.
Otherwise spend it towards stages etc. Why spend 5-10 dollars when u could get them as part of playing the game ;3

Just finished writing a review for Wolfenstein: Youngblood and I'll be moving on to Age of Wonders: Planetfall. If anyone has any question for these games I'd be happy to answer them. It's worth noting that Youngblood supports simultaneous mouse and gamepad input so it plays beautifully with the Steam Controller. Planetfall supports controllers too, the default setup is a bit clunky but absolutely playable.
I only played a little bit of AoW 3, but liked it well enough, and I'm much more into strategy games now and the sci-fi setting is my jam. How is the actual game though, maybe compared to other modern 4x like Civ VI and ES2?

We had a nation-wide blackout that affected pretty much all population when I was a kid here in Italy that lasted almost 24 hours in some areas (power was restored after 12 hours in others). I still remember it to this day, it was a very weird experience. And we’re talking about early 2000’s, when stuff was way less digital than it is today.

I love google ads.
I was just visiting one of those "click to donate" websites for animal rescue and environmental causes, and I'm getting ads for scopes for weapons. o_O

Yes, in the wake of 2 shootings in the US, I, someone who has no interest in weapons, never touched one, and certainly never googled anything related to weapons, am getting weapon-related ads, in a charity website.

Christ. :(
Hope you all get power back asap.

I'm oddly happy SoulCalibur VI is getting a 2nd season pass (and I never say that lol), but only if it includes more character creation stuff!
It does. :)

The trailer for the 2nd season pass shows four new characters, and four sets of character customization items.

I watch this show as it airs on Netflix and im glad to see more outlets talk about crunch culture, especially considering most journalists completely glossed over the Epic situation. Also that Tim Sweeney clip is awkward as hell.

Thx, gonna watch it. Like Hasan too. His White House Dinner speech was great.

Just a quick post from memory of me sitting in the Giant Bomb chat last night asking scrub questions while watching the EVO stream, hope it helps a little.

UNiST has the best tutorials in any 2D Fighting Game and will take you from "What Button Do?" to "The Footsie Game".
The New DBZ game is not Combo Heavy for those of us with bad memories.
Samurai Shodown (SamSho) is also good for newcomers or those of us with low skill levels.

edit: Poop! That's a threadmark not a Title! Sorry folks!

Good video. To the point, easy to understand, entertaining. Good to see Epic/Sweeney in the spotlight. Wonder how that went over on other places. Since he's on with their facade for the most part but lumps their beloved Epic alongside all these major problems. Bad point, he pimps Kotaku. I guess that was a good bit.

That was really good.

Also, I love that they made Tim Sweeney look like an absolute fool.

might be good fit

Slitherine's Development Director, Iain McNeil, sad that the company is "looking forward to working on this immensely popular franchise." Their expectations are grounded, however: "We know there is a high level of responsibility when we try and develop sequels or successors to popular IPs. We have proven it is possible to fulfil players expectations with the likes of Panzer Corps when it comes to work on these legendary products."

I loved Master of Magic back in the day, though that genre is something I've lost interest in over the years.

well i dont think there is really any fitting successor to MoM , some are close , but they are mostly going the Civ-ish route, iirc closest mechanically was WoM/Planar Conquest but that was a quite a mess and not really worthy successor

Just seen this yesterday on Netflix. Pretty well done, and it's heartening to hear that there are already some early signs of the industry unionizing. I assume it will hit the US dead last, but if Canada (with a pretty big share of the gaming industry) can show that you can make quality games without torturing your employees, than it's only a time until US based devs will push harder for the same. It's fucked up that the endless passion of young people to work on games is exploited in such a manner. In a sane country, there'd be better labour laws, without the need for unions to establish the most basic necessities.

It's a good piece, and i do find it interesting that as unions decline in the blue collar sector white collar sectors are starting to pick up. The US will never get back to where it was in the 40s and 50s, but it's good to see a reawakening of labour consciousness at all.
Hopefully it does have a knock on effect both here (in Canada) and the industry at large. I can't imagine what it's like in Japan, which oddly Hasan doesn't mention.

This is the first full review of Planetfall that I've seen. There are a few issues but it seems positive overall. I had a lot of fun with AoW3, but I think I might still wait for a sale on this one. Just not enough time to fully dedicate to it right now.

Same

Was looking forward to it but not having much time to put into TW: Three Kingdoms I postponed the purchase of Planetfall indefinitly.
