Is 3H your first FE?
I won't be playing it for a long time, since I don't even have a Switch yet and don't really see myself getting one until the revisions are out and tech people break down any power differences between new Switch and Switch Lite. (I'm only interested in it as a handheld.)
I figure around Christmas maybe. Gotta save up some money.

naruhodo. Well, if you have a 3DS and like 3H, you should probably at least check out FE: Awakening! It really brought the FE series back to life, and honestly it's my favorite of the modern ones.
... I think I replayed Awakening like 3 times. Probably my most played 3DS game, I just have too much fun playing matchmaker with different pairs lol.
I'm trying to stay spoiler-free as possible for 3H. So far so good, but it's gonna be a long wait...

Never finished it, the story was ok and the battles great, but i am not big on handheld gaming.

I'm guessing that not every dev has updated their Steam page then since the rainy season game has two languages for it's title.
Also I thought I was going to be overwhelmed with all of the new things that they introduced but aside from those performance issues/limitations it's a really solid game. The "sprites" this time around seem really weird to me though compared to at least the last 3 games. I do like the ideas that the came up with the idea but the performance stuff does hold it back.
I do not like how the online stuff is locked though.
These past 3 days I have been using my N/S more than I have all of 2018 and that is when I got mine, I guess FE was the gaming that finally made the purchases worth it (sort of).
Did the modern Persona games (and I guess by extension, Dating Sims) have an impact on how some Japanese games are being designed now?
Echoes is the best "modern" FE game
They are nice, I just wish there was a N/S pro because the game bother me at times performance wise. I always thought it was weird how strange some stuff looks in some games when you zoom in and looks all alliesed but that how it normally looks like in the game.

Yea tell me about it. I played the game for 30 hours since... friday.
Seems to be a pretty lengthy game to begin with, and then you have multiple different routes to play.

More games need calendar management and social links!
Which house did you choose? A friend told me there's a recommended order of routes to play. She didn't recommend going for the Black Eagles first.
I think almost all Switch games has this aggressive LOD and/or resolution scaling. Even with the sys-clk overclock module, I'm still getting framedrops when running around the monastery. It's something we should try to contend with, I guess.

So I had a break from many things including gaming stuff during last year, which has seemingly been an Epic year, not looking for controversy, but what's happened to the modding at Era?
I had never got a warning or anything of that sort anywhere, ever... but for some reason since I've been back I got my first ever warning for being "off-topic" a couple of days ago, where I talked about Epic in an Steam thread! I PM'ed the mod but he/she never answered me, fast forward to today, when I got my second ever warning which turned out to be a 2 week ban!! For this post in Ooblets thread:
"The devs (or any other human being) don't deserve it, that's for sure, but they didn't help the situation either, it was like they were asking for trouble, from the condescending tone of their original piece, followed by some awful discord messages by them, it was a PR disaster, and then there's that Tim guy."
The reason: "excusing harassment" What? How's that excusing harassment, all I'm saying is that the internet brings the worst out of people, you shouldn't look for trouble, we know that the devs should've handled it much better, that doesn't excuse what some horrible people out there do and make life miserable for anyone, So now that they have got some undeserved harassment we can't even talk about their bad statements? Two wrongs doesn't make it right.

....... This did make Persona more popular but also it made it more "casual". Well I guess that's why Persona is still around and SMT is in the back burner or so to speak.
I don't think there is anything wrong with Social Link stuff but one of the issue I do have is that it takes the places of having your party along side you and being able to talk with them on your journey. Take Persona 2 and DQVII as examples I really like how you can talk to an NPC and get a response from that NPC and your party members will have a remark to make about it. In games like P3 and onward you can't do that and some of that is because the character development stuff is more one and one, which I'm guessing is because they don't want you to miss it. Being able to take your party members along side you and hear what they have to say I think is great because you can learn about what they like and dislike that way and what their world views are. The annoying part is that you do have to keep checking though so you likely will miss out on stuff if you are not paying attention.
So social links are okay but the calendar management is something that I am less of a fan of. I take my time and try to explore everything that I can, I liked Bully but the time management (while cool) was a hassle. Calender stuff can be cool since you can explore the world that you are in across different dates and get to know more about it and it's characters that way but some times it does feel like that is rather "artificial" as well and does not really add to anything. So there are big events in the year and some of those are also in P5 but they don't really feel like they do anything or that there is any hype around anything.

Honestly, Doki Doki literature Club made more sense.
I see all those interesting characters and wished that it wasn't a battle royale killing game and more like a mystery or murder mystery with OTHER deaths instead of the cast.
Hell if it has to be a Battle Royale killing game, different paths with different murders or new game+ would make the game a dozen times better.

Thinking about buying Metal Wolf Chaos but I think I'm gonna wait to see if someone can fix the 30 fps cap.

Finished Wolfenstein 2.
I enjoyed it more than TNO to be honest. The two main complaints that I read about it before jumping in were bad level design and unbalanced difficulty and I didn't had any issues with those. I mean, level design isn't anything remarkable, sure, and the early levels are pretty harsh on the player but once you reach chapter 6 things get much better (I played on normal difficulty though). Anyway, I had lots of fun making my way through the game mixing stealth and guns blazing. Overall, I felt that the game improved as I progressed through it and it ended very well. Finally, regarding characters, I liked them.
Anyway, can't wait for Wolf3. Maybe I should go back a bit and play The Old Blood.

Right. I'm not really into mod-whining, I'd seen complaints here and there, we've all had some disagreements regarding their decisions like SteamEra or PCEra and stuff like that, but I always thought well that happens, nobody is perfect. So I was dumbfounded with their sudden warning and ban which came out of nowhere, all that over their weird interpretation of my post. Can anyone look at that post and call it warning worthy, let alone a 2 week ban? And that for someone with a clean record?
We do joke about stuff like "anti-EGS = toxic" and whatnot, but after this Ooblets episode, it's like anti-EGS = GGer/8chan/Nazi. They've really lost it, and I think it's in part because they're mostly console-only gamers, so they just don't get it, rather, they see it as the start of another GG movement, because in their eyes the similarities are there, like the major difference between the pro-EGS content by many journalists, and what most PC gamers think... and now this harassment episode happened. And as we know, some bad apples = every PC gamer out there. We're becoming GGers, we just don't know it yet.

To complement a bit on what NarohDethan and Kyougar mentioned, this community was created, in part, as a result of some aggressive moderation polices in other forums, especially when it comes to discussions pertaining to the PC platform (for example, topics related to emulation are frequently banned), and the idea was to create a community in which everyone is equal, there are no moderators, and essentially we moderate ourselves, meaning, if someone "misbehaves", members can report fellow users, and it's the community that will decide if any action should be taken, not a single person.
Fortunately, as you will find, we are a bunch of mellow guys and gals, and only once was there need for the community to act, and did so swiftly.
You are obviously allowed to mention problems in other forums, there's no policy banning that (and that probably comes up more frequently in the thread we have discussing the Epic Games Store).
It's just that, instead of engaging on "negative" discussion, to criticize other communities (that many of us are still a part of; you will probably find plenty of users here that are also in Resetera, Neogaf, and vice-versa), most of us prefer to discuss other things, new games, sales, in that everlasting quest to increase our backlogs, and lighten our wallets.
A good starting point is Tizoc 's monthly highlights thread:

It's not like we don't understand your plight, because we do. After all, some of us here (including yours truly) has been banned or perma'd from GAF or ERA, either self-requested, or via the mighty strike of a banhammer. Whether the reason is justified or not, well, I can't really tell you that -- you simply have to examine it yourself by interacting with the community here.
But, if I may offer my opinion, there's no reason to spend time and energy in order to keep interacting with communities which doesn't value your opinion, or doesn't make you feel welcomed in any way. Whether it's orange, purple or whatever else, there's very little to be gained when you're fighting the lowest common denominators day in and day out without any sign of change. There's so many good communities out there with members which are respectful toward one another and they are able to voice their concerns without being labeled as gators or nazis. This very forum is one such example.

Semi-serious answer: nearly everyone wants to be dommed by a queen in high heels and uniform.
I'm still hooked to Pathfinder: Kingmaker and lately its all I've been playing, except for some Waframe sessions and trying some games that I had bought previously.
One tip for people who may be interested: always try to focus in the main quest first, the chapters end after a set amount of time has passed and if you ignore it shit start happening over your kingdom. I learned it the hard way
I'm also enjoying the companions quests even though some aren't as good as the others. Like Jaethal's quest, I despise her character but after advancing her quest I'm curious to know more about her past and what exactly happened to her.
Nok-Nok keeps being the addition to the party, too bad he can't become a counselor. If only I could choose him just to see the chaos ensue...

I think the community (Era) in general is OK, we know it's a pretty console focused community (so was GAF), and most of own other platforms besides PC, so it's good to have it all under one umbrella. I also think while there are quite a few of pro-Epic posters, they're not the majority, and the ratio seemed to be getting a bit better, but right now, with the mods acting too radical, the situation would most probably get worse and worse.
You make a fair point, but I've rarely found myself "unwelcome", though the tone the mods are setting right now would make it hard. You're absolutely right regarding MetaC though. It's great that we've got this place with some level-headed users, most of whom are familiar faces.

I searched high-and-low for a .gif or Youtube clip of when men were lining up to be insulted and dominated by Chie-sensei, but alas, the internet failed me. It makes me feel old when I can't find something from my youth!
I played the first level of the Serious Duke mod lashman shared and it's actually pretty impressive. They managed to get most of the flow of the level right (though there are some changes). Sadly, it also illustrates how advanced Build was for its time when it comes to interactivity. The Serious engine can't do the same things (or mods can't use it to do them) and so the developer had to do many things differently. Movement and gunplay also feels kinda "off". Still, a great effort considering this is a mod made by someone on their spare time (and 100000% better than DNF).

Got a few things I plan to try as a last ditch effort tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Stuck in an endless reboot loop. Runs for a few seconds then powers down for a brief moment before starting back up.
Tried different RAM, reseating the CPU and checking for bent pins, also checked cables. Everything seems fine. I'm using the same PSU since it's only a little over a year old and more than powerful enough. It's an EVGA Supernova 1000 G3.
