Yeah I'm learning new languages (brushing up on my French, improving my Japanese and starting to learn German) because I really can't do anything else in this heat but I still need something to keep me engaged and motivated or I'd just lie in bed all day.

When it comes to games, I can really only read VNs, I'll delay all gaming-related activities until late September.

Summer is the shittiest season, fight me IRL if you disagree

Huh, I must be lucky. Have had my 2 DS4 since the launch back in 2013.

Only bad thing about them is battery imo.
I go through them about every 6 months and I don't even use my PS4 that much anymore outside of FFXIV. I think I've had between 6-8 this entire gen because something always wears out insanely fast. Sometimes it's a shoulder button, sometimes it's the d-pad, sometimes it's a stick drifting.

Ironically I need to get another one now because my current controller's left stick has a pretty severe drift issue. I pretty much can't run left when I'm playing FFXIV or else it'll make me move as slow as possible. I usually wait for a $40 sale then trade my current one in and buy a new one, and inevitably get stuck with one that breaks again.

Installed a 3700x cpu in my PC today. Kept the old x370 mobo that had my older Ryzen cpu in it because the new motherboards released seem like such a clusterfuck of functionality/price. That and I'm lazy so didn't really want to anyway. Everything went well etc. so very pleased.

Checking Ion Fury reminded me of how much I enjoy the look of the night skyboxes, and buildings, in many 90's/early 00's games.
I immediately got the urge to replay Deus Ex. :giggle:
Deus Ex, a game with a skybox so advanced it predicted 9/11.

I want to replay it too, it's an excellent experience. Deus Ex I mean, not 9/11.

I really suck at Catherine
Yeah that game will test most people pretty hard. I finished on normal and was miffed by all of the people strutting around bragging about finishing the game on hard. Like, stop lying ass fucks, you may have beaten it on hard but it wasn't a cakewalk. Why can't people be honest about struggling with certain games?

That's perfectly normal. 😉
Another game that its normal to struggle with, Persona 5. Again, chuckle fucks with delusions of e-peen glory talk about how amazing they are at it and that its a short and easy game. Screw them. Pet peeve of mine is the bullshit strutting and "get gud" surrounding games.

But... I wasnt lying when I said I didnt find Catherine Hard that difficult. Babel and Rapunzel is where the real difficulty is. Fuuuuuuuuck Rapunzel

Except Stage 9, The final boss and the mystery blocks can go fuck themselves.

I think Hard was challenging in a fun way, but it wasnt anything that made me rip my hair out or look online for guides like Axis Mundi and Rapunzel did.

TBH, I don't really believe you. You probably played it through more than once so it felt less difficult. First time around its all a bitch, even on normal.

Lol, the Persona games are known for their ridiculous length and learning curve.

I've enjoyed much of Persona 5, but the dungeons are way too long and the last 30% of the game should have been removed completely imo.

And yeah, I don't like the "get gud" reactions either. I like a good but fair challenge in my games, but I have given up on games as well because I couldn't beat them. Nothing wrong with that. 😉

Was it your first Persona ? I can’t speak about 5 since I only managed to play 1,5 dungeons before becoming near comatose from the pacing, but there is a case to be made about familiarity with the system. For example I discovered the series with the third installment, and the faqs made it look like a system for bizarre people. Then I got used to it and the newer Persona / SMT feel like Monday.
That and there is no denying the streamlining is stronger and stronger with each new game. Which is... not necessarily a bad thing.

Just noticed this one (was it announced today? It's only in lashman wishlist).

Now waiting for Industries of Titan to release on Steam will be easier.

It really wasn't. I beat Catherine for the first time in 2011 when I was 12/13 and only had any real trouble with 7-4. I never got past Babel 1 so I didnt even bother with Hard. It wasnt until 2 weeks ago I tried it for the first time, and I was expecting it to be a lot harder. Some levels took a few tries to figure out but I was pretty much able to use the same few techniques for most levels. Hell I was able to figure out 7-4 on hard and I STILL cant do 7-4 on Normal properly.

Its hilarious seeing the reaction to 100%ing Classic on PC (Not on here, but on other sites). I got accused of guiding most of the game despite the fact you cant guide Babe, or idling the game for 50 hours and SAMing in the achievements. Like man sorry I play a lot of puzzle games I guess?

Like yeah it was a fucking bitch to 100%, But Golden Theater was a cakewalk compared to the rest of the game.

I think I have downloaded patches 3 times today for No Mans Sky. HG working fast. VR performance seems to be improving too.

It was difficult but you persevered through the difficulty, no need to say it wasn't that difficult. I'll never understand this. Just because you weren't screaming in frustration and rage quitting doesn't mean that it wasn't a challenge. And, you know, its fine to gloat but just own the fact that your gloating.

The Uncharted games are another offender. Some of the best but most frustrating games I've ever played. So much epeening around the harder difficulties.

This I can agree with, I 100%'d Golden Abyss but Crushing is an awful experience. Im not even going to bother playing the other Uncharted games on anything above Normal, and I love those games.

I dont know why I 100% so many Vita games. I hate playing Golden Abyss 5 different times but did it anyway.

Stopped playing my PS3 copy because I couldn't beat a level and got tired of trying. Haven't started it on PC yet, but at this point I probably won't bother.

Just normal them, that's what I did. Uncharted 4 fixed NOTHING from Uncharted 2 and 3 difficulty wise.
It was great. I loved the ending. The later levels can Die in a Fucking Fire.

Weirdly, COD games have this issue as well. I call these games "invisible track" games where you need to be in a certain spot by a certain time or its curtains from random shot in two seconds as you get sniped by the AI from the fucking moon.

Do I need to reinstall Windows if switching from Intel to AMD?
I would. I mean, it should still boot, so you can back things up and take stock of all software licenses and whatnot; but eventually you'll want to create a fresh install/image with all the needed AMD and new motherboard drivers.

PLEASE NOTE: It will not boot if your new motherboard uses UEFI as opposed to BIOS without the CSM settings active AND if your old Intel board's SATA controller was running in a different mode than the new AMD board by default.

I see. I guess I’ll have to redownload Windows again. Do i need to contact its CS to reactivate my license?

What version of windows are you using? Is it an OEM key? Retail key? Licensing and M$ (feels SOOOO good to post that without getting a ban lol) are tricky.
