I agree. Although I'd say that Spyro 1 is more of a " traditional" experience than 2 and 3. Those two introduced new mechanics and mini-games that made the series feel pretty unique.Note for the people interested in Spyro that it's a bit less "platforming" than your average game in the genre, and more "running and gliding".
Spyro does not jump very high, and it's often an excuse to push you to find from where you have to glide/run from.
And it's pretty fun and unique, Spyro is pretty great.
Except the flying challenges.
Those can fuck off.
I also remember thinking that 1 was considerably tougher to complete...
