I have no smartphone, when I'm not in front of my computer, I do other stuff than cares about games or the Internet in general Dat being said, I never complained about flash sales, because hey, that's part of the game, and I won't throw a tantrum if I don't buy ONE or even TWO games... I'll wait. Anyhow, in old Steam sales, some flash deals were back in the last day of sales, so... never missed anything I could have been interested in.
Valve reacted to complaints from gamers who can't stand to NOT buy a game when the price is shining and glittering. Gamers can be spoiled rotten bastards sometimes
I'm fine with this outcome as I would have been fine if they kept flash deals. But as said earlier by FunnyJay : Damned if you do, damned if you don't, they couldn't make everyone happy.

Disco looks cool. I am not that smart though so a lot of the stuff in the game would likely go over my head.
I am the type of person that would read a book in school and unless the teacher told you what the point of the book was, I would not have known. I still have my doubts to this day about some of that stuff.

Because having to be constantly checking for deals several times per day - including sleeping and work hours - was fucking exhausting. Not only that, there were many many many times where I couldn't check the deals for whatever reasons and I would lose out on deals I actually wanted.

Most large e-commerce sites now have temporary "flash" sales constantly, especially around the holidays. If I miss out, I miss out. As long as the "normal" sale price will still be there, all I missed out on is an even deeper cut.

Flash deals sucked. 8 hour ones weren't bad, but those aren't really flash.
I think I see where that one person is coming from. More core means a more powerful CPU right?
But the thing is those CPUs won't be overclocked. Also more cores dont mean a more powerful CPU (that's what the AMD FX CPUs taught me, bulldozer?)
I didn't think things like SSD speeds would mean much but then I saw the DF video about Star Citizen and I now see what they mean.
And even if PC held back consoles, PCs would be ahead in another 2 years, a PS5 Pro will likely release in 2024 and then it will be your PS5 that is holding it back

well i wouldn't go THAT far ...
but people expecting performance of a $1500+ PC from a $500-600 console are in for a big surprise ...
I find it hillarious how consoles cant even do 1080p/60fps consistently and people are dreaming with 8k and unlimited framerates.
BUT MUH GOD OF WAR RUNS AT 4K/30.... cough*20 sometimes or even 15 *cough.
Yeah no chance in hell that PS5/Xbox 2 or whatever can top PC. Though if they don't fuck around and put NVMe drives in them maybe we won't get shafted with dumbass load screens all the time in games that could do streaming, but don't because the consoles can't handle it.
I don't think they will go as far as NVMe, but at least getting SSDs in there would be a major upgrade. Then maybe PC can finally exploit all that speed instead of being forced to blink past a load screen that would normally take 1min on console.

How is Pine by the way? I'm thinking about refunding it and getting something else. I was hyped when I got it but my excitement has pretty much died before I even started the game.
I just beat Disco Elysium, took me 30 hours. I basically played it religiously since the launch day. I just couldn't stop.

I was highly interested in Pine too. But the reviews are kinda off-putting, such as the lack of enemy variety and poor combat, as well as the shallow open world.
Devs are improving it but honestly, if you want to refund it and maybe buy it again once everything is patched out and the game gets a discount I won't blame you.
I loved my first hours with but as soon as I had to go through the first vault the game went from a solid 8/10 to 5/10, it was really frustrating. I'm now waiting for updates on it to continue playing as devs said they would improve these vault things.
Yeah Disco is so very much my GOTY, hard to imagine anything coming out that is so much for me as that.
Yeah going to refund and get Children of Morta instead. Seems pretty great.

Yeah, I use my wishlist to track prices.
And, every time I add a game (even from a bundle), I usually add most DLCs to the wishlist.
One of these days, I'll have to do like I did a couple of years ago: I'll delete everything, and start over.
Previously i had 415 games on my wishlist. Took an hour or two to clean my wishlists, only removed 3 games :/
