But I would at least like to entertain myself
This is depressing because it's not the answer, I realize that.
Well in any case, Luigi is a Nintendo product, pretty sure it will remain at 45+ until the heat death of the universe.
I am not saying that you should not buy any game at all. You can still have plenty of entertainment with what you buy. The thing is it looks to me that your are often trying to
go after several games simultaneously. I don't believe that you would have more entertainment with more games, because you can only play one game at once.
We all have this tendency for impulse purchases (and fear of missing out), and that is how we end up with a huge backlog. However, if budget is tight, it sounds better to settle for one new game per month. I cannot tell about the Nintendo games (I don't have any console), but if they provide good amount of content, then maybe Luigi (plus your backlog) is enough to keep you entertained for a few weeks without purchasing another game? Or whatever will appear in the Humble Monthly next week ; it already includes Spyro and Crash, which are extremely good value. With the Monthly formula, the only issue is that you blindly buy, so you get a good deal, but not necessarily the best entertainment for your money. In this case, group buys are amazing, you can often get that one game which looked interesting to you for 1€. Just make sure that you don't pay fees with your Paypal.
For instance, in my case, Disco Elysium is the biggest video-game purchase of the year (by far), and that should be good enough until the release of The Legend of Bum-bo in a month. I can imagine unlocking the Monthly bundle for December, but that is it. I would be surprised if I purchased any other videogame before 2020. So, if everything works as planned, that is 40€ (already paid) + $15 (planned) + $12 (planned) for the rest of 2019, and that is already a ton of money (~70€) to spend for video-games for 3 months. Actually, I like to keep track of what I spend money for, so that would be, over the course of 3 months, half of my spendings for video-games in 2019.
I suggest that you check the playtime for some of the games which you bought day one. In my case, that is how I realized that I had the tendency to over-pay for my entertainment, and I managed to progressively cut down on my spendings a lot afterwards, going from a monthly average of ~40€ (including ~12€ for the Humble Monthly) to ~15€ (no Monthly in 2018, only the one with Spyro in 2019, the rest of the Humble Monthly games were partially acquired with Group Buys). I don't buy Humble Monthly bundles these days, but if I did, the rule of thumb would be not to purchase any other game during that month.
