So instead of “every publisher will only have its own launcher” we’re actually sorta seeing the opposite happening.

Instead of wallets, MS, Bethesda and hopefully EA.

EA coming back to Steam is kinda big. I wonder how far they take it. I hope those indie-ish games and Titanfall 2 get put on Steam. Also the racing games.

If they do come to steam I wonder if they will add steamworks features or just the bare minimum like Dead Space or Mirror's Edge currently.

boo Outer Worlds has achievements for difficulty

Low key the best thing about playing it through Game Pass (other than bypassing the EGS) is that I have no investment in the Xbox ecosystem whatsoever, so I don't give a flying fuck about those achievements. I can just play the game however and not worry about achievement hunting.

there's ZERO chance any of their newer gaas stuff will be on steam

I could see them looking at Destiny 2's successful Steam launch and deciding to drop Anthem on Steam as a last ditch-attempt to salvage it. Anything else is probably not happening, though.

Played a little bit of TOW and kinda enjoying it. Its well written and funny. The Obsidian charm is there for sure.

I'm not too big on the art and visual direction of the game however. It feels/looks too much like Bioshock and Borderlands. Its still early tho so I don't want to judge the environments since there will be other zones. I think I may just prefer the grounded dreary realism from Fallout 4 and NV. The bright syfy look can be a bit sloppy at times.

steam isn't going to help Anthem either, lol :P

I mean, EA has a bunch of games that I want on Steam but if I could get Saboteur along with Sims Medieval that would be pretty nice already. Getting Catalyst, ME3, Crysis 3, Sims 4 and Titanfall 2 with Steam achievements might be asking too much but damn I want that too. Anything else will be a cool extra.

Of course not but it's a pretty low risk move that's at least worth a shot before fully killing off what was supposed to be their big GaaS title lol.

I assume it will get at least 50+ sales by game collectors at the very least which means revenue for EA.

yeah, i suppose you're right ...

after all - steam is the place MMOs go to die ... so i guess we might as well add "gaas" to that list ;)

Sims Medieval

they'd have to fix that one first ... they only removed it because it wasn't working on win10

EA should do a pricey humble bundle with the option of steam + Origin keys.

Dragon Age Inquisition
Mass Effect 3
Anthem
Unravel games
Madden 20
Fifa 20
Titanfall
Throw some Apex loot in there too

Do it for charity EA...

Dumb! Almost as dumb as having multiplayer achievements in a single player game.

Remember the "win a MP match against a Creative Assembly employer or someone who won against a Creative Assembly employer" achievement in Shogun 2?

That certainly looks like a confirmation to me :)

If (big if) EA play it smart, they can do the same as MS and "buy" a lot of good will from the move. It can probably also be a big boost for Apex, as Destiny 2 appears to have been successful so far, all the while advertising Origin Access/Premiere.

After all, between MS putting their games on Steam, having GamePass for cheap and just saying "we will still support win32" a lot of people (including myself) are trying their store, even with UWP. Well, sometimes the whole EGS drama also helps to give it a push...

But who says EA latest games won't appear on steam? There's no reason for them not to appear, not at launch but maybe a couple of months after and defiantly on release date in 2020 and beyond.

does EA have any horror games they can drop during the halloween sale to get a boost if they did it that quick?

unfortunately not :(

That's a shame, it was kind of alright. The first time I tried playing it was right after God of War 3 and it seemed so bad by comparison that I dropped it pretty quickly but I had a ton of fun with it when I revisited it later.

The more I think about it the more I hope they won't just dump and forget, though. If they released Mass Effect 3 and updated the first two games to have Steam achievements, I'd probably give the trilogy another run. I felt like I was done with the series after ME3 and I had no interest in Andromeda but I kinda miss it sometimes. Plus, I never played any of ME3's DLC or the updated ending. I'd also jump on any excuse to replay Dead Space 1 and 2...

I personally hope for Sims 4. Maybe a $60 Bundle including all expansion packs as a celebration-gift?
