I would have a more nuanced view there. Companies shouldn't be the ones dictating speech policy when said platforms are so ubiquitous. The rule of law should. It shouldn't be up to corporations to decide what should and shouldn't be said but an independent organization, without any vested interest other than justice and the rule of law, at least in my opinion. Problem is that the governments are so slow-moving and checked out of this whole thing outside of trying to spy on everyone that we ended up in this mess of a situation.
Unrestricted "free" speech is often not free for others. Bullying, harassment, hate speech and other perversions of the written word should be curtailed. The issue I have with what happened with Parler is that I don't believe that capability, that responsibility should be in the hands of corporations who are utterly unaccountable, and often hold a conflict of interest between policy and revenue. There's also the fact that corporations hold no responsibility to their users, being a resource to them instead.
