Brilliant thread title.
So excited for Nier!

I wonder if Kena will ever get a PC version, I'm pretty hyped for that game. I guess it's a matter of time.

Wait a second. Did the game actually have a locked framerate on the original PS4 hardware the game was intended for? I expect a faithful port to reproduce every little hitch and framedrop. After all, that was clearly Falcom's original vision.
That would genuinely be an insane technical challenge. Actually, I don't think current PCs are anywhere near fast enough to do that accurately :p

Its April already :frowning-face-with-open-mouth:

Don't know what game to play this month. Kind of in the mood for a long jrpg. I guess I wait to see what humble has next week before deciding.

It would be great if Sony released Days Gone right now. But no in fact they do it for PS+ this month and ofc watch them release it next month on PC when there is also RE8, Nocturne and ME trilogy

Yo folks, Steam just removed a game, activated through key, from my library "due to a problem processing payment for this item".

The game is Overfall, and I tracked it all the way down to this old Fanatical bundle from 2018.

I don't care much about losing the game itself (never heard of it, so it was just fodder as far as I was concerned), but I wonder what could have happened.
The other games of the bundle are still in my library, and I haven't received any communication from Fanatical.
The bundle order still shows up in my Fanatical account, and I can still access the Overfall key (although, if I try to redeem it on Steam, it says it was already reedemed by another account).

Anyone had any similar experience?

Oh fuck them, not gonna share my email and other info to get a key back, after they blamed users for buying from a shady site like... Fanatical, of all sites.
Yeah, i think they'll need to clarify what they mean there. I assume they mean the previous publisher took a bunch of keys and sold them to shady resellers but i don't think the devs meant to lump Humble or Fanatical etc in with that crowd.

Just saw that I had it removed as well. I mean I didn't even know the game existed, so it's whatever, but still, that's not the way to go about this. And I don't even understand what's the point in removing it if you're going to give new keys anyway? Just to collect emails? Yeah no.

Another thank your to lashman for the recommendations. It really helps me to filter through the noise and grab/wishlist lots of interesting games (playing them is another problem...)

And "wow" at the indie developer nuking 30k keys according to their message. I understand they said the publisher screwed them, but I don't think these "customers" will buy your game again after this. I guess they're going by the old saying "any publicity is good publicity".

As it looks like by the reviews, and the comments to the devs post, most if not all are talking about Fanatical/BundleStars (which according to ITAD, was the only site that ever bundled Overfall, twice in 2018), so I don't think they are lumping G2A with proper sites: they are actually implying that Fanatical is a shady reseller! 😄

No idea what really went on, but assuming good intent, the devs handling of this has been absolutely terribad.
Definitely not even worth a throwaway email address.

I've just read more comments in the thread. Most people are saying see ya to the dev and not giving them an email address especially as the dev has a new game on the way but why farm for email addresses? Why revoke keys from one bundle especially 2.5 years later and not revoke keys in a different bundle on the same reseller only 6 months later? It's odd.

I haven't made a proper research but just by reading Overfall dev explanation I believe it was not properly handled.

I don't know if they got things really mixed up regarding to authorized third party stores and marketplaces workflow operation but it sounded like Steam store was the only "good" store to buy games from their wording.

Revoking keys after so many years made me think they might have wait this long because they went to trial, otherwise I don't see a reasonable explanation to this which is kind of confused to begin with.

The more I play through and read up on Dark Souls, the more I am enamored by its gameplay mechanics and design.
Sure there is BS in some of the dungeons/areas you traverse in, but the way stats and weapons function, and the ability to spec your character to your preference makes its RPG elements really shine.
I feel this hardly ever gets talked about when discussing the game, though I'm likely being unfair with that statement, based on the kind of discussion taht usually comes regarding this game.

Yeah upon starting Steam just now I was also greeted with a big window that informed me that Overfall was removed from my account.
Not that I ever played it or planned to (it was indeed bundle fodder), but still, thats a shady thing to do. And to what end? They arent gonna generate new sales from this. Idiots.

I always feel like it's very strange when devs generate some keys and then seem surprised when they end up on the market. I feel like if you give out a key at price X or under contract Y to some entity, then you can't blame anyone who eventually ends up with that key for it. If Y violates their contract then by all means sue them of course, but revoking keys always seems fishy from my perspective.

Yeah it's getting close!
As a special treat, today I can reveal that this time around, we decided to honor the original creative vision by setting the resolution at a fixed 1920x1080, and locking the framerate to 60 FPS.
I hope you are all excited to play the game the way it was meant to be played!
Please also force AF x4 and make sure no AA solution can be applied.
kthxbye

Did everyone get their Overfall revoked or do they revoke the keys in waves?

Because I still have my Overfall in my library. I bought the Fanatical bundle

A few more promising games releasing this month (either full release or early access debut)

Colony Ship is by Iron Tower Studio, the Age of Decadence devs. I'll wait for the first few impressions, but this looks like the perfect game for my 2 weeks of stay-in vacation at the end of April (assuming Germany will have to enter a new lockdown by then).

So,

I am playing Minecraft (modded) and hear pig noises every other minute. I search my base wide and high but can't find the source. I was going insane. Logged into another world, same issue.

15 minutes later, try googling it.... It is an April fools joke from one of the modders.... have to deactivate player sounds for today....
