Does anyone here have a Steam Link? How is it over wireless? I've had pretty decent experiences with the mobile app despite my slow internet and I'm thinking of getting one of those boxes. They seem to be going around for about €20. I assume that, like the app, you can also alt tab out of big picture to just use your desktop?

Any news on if Forza Horizon 4 is going to get a Steam release? Debating getting a WinStore key from CDKeys, but won't bother if there's a Steam version on the ahem horizon.

Unfortunately, we just don't know which games are going to come to Steam from MS, it's the same for Gears 4, is it coming? unknown, sorry.

Thanks. :)

I'm hoping for less base building (I'm not really the Minecraft/Terraria kind of guy), and more exploration, and fighting other space ships. :giggle:
I mean you can do that but it's probably not what you're looking for. I'd read Line's post about NMS too.
As an alternative more traditional space game I really like the look of Rebel Galaxy Outlaw from the GB Quick Look but it's EGS so i've a year to wait at least. I don't know how the X Series is doing these days but that's worth a look. Privateer and Freelancer too. Most Space Ship games recently have been more shooters with a cursory narrative. I hope that starts to change with the release of RGO though.

Anyone have any reccommendations for a good recentish Narrative, Open Space, Fly/Fight/Trade game?

The developers of of Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York posted an update on Steam with more info about the game.
  • Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York presents the conflict between two vampiric factions: the traditionalist Camarilla and the fiercely independent Anarchs in New York
  • It's a unique, atmospheric, single-player narrative experience, set in the rich, fully-licensed, globally-recognized universe of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition.
  • Coteries of New York present players with choices that matter, aiming to deliver a dark, atmospheric, and emotional narration mixed with morally challenging dilemmas, and many potential paths leading to the story’s finale.
  • We plan to include significant branching and reactivity, so that the players feel their decisions influence the world around them and encourage multiple playthroughs for those invested in the world and story of Coteries of New York.
  • You are a newly-fledged vampire in New York. You must learn what it means to be one of the Kindred in a huge, vibrant, contemporary metropolis.
  • You will make choices for your character, including which storylines to pursue and how to approach the different situations presented. You will be presented with branching dialogue choices, memorable characters - all among iconic locales of New York City. You’ll be able to use Disciplines appropriate to your clan to charm, sneak, intimidate or kill, and your choices will determine your path.
  • You’ll build your Coterie and learn your undead companions’ deepest secrets… or see them abandon you.
  • Although you start off as part of the authoritarian vampire sect called the Camarilla, you soon learn that other factions exist - chief among them, the independent Anarchs. Your paths will inevitably cross theirs, but whether you choose to shun them, or try to learn more about what they represent, will be your decision.
  • While the game is primarily text-driven and story oriented, several mechanics reflect the dark truths of being one of the Kindred.
  • Hunger is used to indicate the constant need for blood that vampires must deal with nightly. Characters have the opportunity to hunt for blood during quests. Ignoring this need leads to warnings in the game’s fiction, and if disregarded for too long, to consequences that include succumbing to the Beast
  • Humanity is a measure of how moral and rooted in humanistic principles the character is. This rating is used by the game to modify the results of choices in quests, offer additional story choices, or even lock certain choices out.
  • Finally, the Masquerade rating tracks how well the character blends in with mortal society. Staying inconspicuous and hidden from prying eyes is even more important for vampires than ever, due to the existence of the so-called Second Inquisition, a clandestine hunt for vampires concealed within global government agencies. Secrecy and not flaunting your supernatural powers in the sight of mortals is of utmost importance.

I just finished Gibbous - A Cthulhu Adventure and I really liked it. It's on the easy side and not very long (Steam says I played it for 9 hours, but I did replay parts of it to get some achievements I missed along the way), but I absolutely adored the story and its weird characters.

It reminded me of why I loved this genre growing up, as it's pretty clear that the devs loved Lucasarts adventures at least as much as I did :awwblob:

I backed this on Kickstarter, but haven't had a chance to play it yet. Will likely check it out on the weekend.

Thanks, but I already own Privateer, Freelancer (a personal favourite), and the X series (which reminds me, I'm yet to play the latest game :giggle:).

As for Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, and I'll say this as politely as I can: screw the developers, I'm not touching it. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Starpoint Gemini 3 is shaping up very good, it's what I look forward to the most for spacey fun since Outlaw pulled their EGS shenanigans off.

Similar to the change from the original Rebel Galaxy to Outlaw this is also going for a less point & clicky RPG and more space simy direction...

Indeed it is. (y)

I found Starpoint Gemini 2 to be a bit on the boring side, because it lacked visual variety, and the early screenshots and footage of 3 already show a big improvement on that front.

I still wish Microsoft would re-release Freelancer on Steam, with Workshop support. :)

I didn't like that game outside its online capabilities myself. Universe ok, story ok, ship controls super intutitive with an expertly crafted mouse driven interface (which previous Starpoint Gemini games seemed to take after, though not quite as good) but not nearly as fun gameplay as any half decent space "sim" to me. It felt very by the numbers, unexciting, just increasing damage output as you progress but having it feel the same since the enemies also got better gear but all the behaviors were the same, plus spamming hull/shield restoration items being a thing as if it's Diablo or something rather than Wing Commander. I'd rather play some B tier janky space combat game of the era like Tachyon: The Fringe over Freelancer, not to mention the true classics of the genre.

Microsoft did have a sweet as hell space game back then though, but nobody played it (and it's online PVP only so that was obviously a problem, heh).

It's good. I've been playing a lot over the last few days over wireless, and I haven't had any issues. It's basically the same setup as the mobile app, so you can alt-tab to the desktop (or set it up to start on the desktop).

Great! I think I'll give it a shot. Until now, I've been pulling out an unwieldy HDMI cable but this seems like a more seamless solution.

So when Duck Tales gets removed, it's badge cards won't be marketable anymore right? I've seen it happen it several games, but maybe it's something different with them?
No idea about your question, but AFAIK Duck Tales is already down.

It depends on the reason why the game is not available: if the game is banned from the store, I think cards are unmarketable ; otherwise, cards remain marketable.

It may also vary from game to game. For instance, Doctor Who's cards are not marketable if I recall right.

Preordered GRID Ultimate Edition, still thinking about Remnant From the Ashes, hmmm. And there is still AoE Definitive, Decay of Logos, Re: Legend and Within the Cosmos coming this month. How wrong I was when I thought that August would be a chill month for my wallet, how wrong.

I noticed it too but I think it's Gamescom related, just a bit too early.

Aaah and the cards are marketable, time for the waiting game and wait for the price on cards to skyrocket!:D
I've had experience holding onto games that are no longer sold, and from my limited number of cases, that "discontinued" price spike never seems to occur and card just becomes unmarketable with no trade activity. I suspect it's because demand also dies off with supply (since people buying the game are where most of fresh demand comes from).

Perhaps DuckTales will be different though, because of its name value.

Does DIRECTLY killing main targets in dishonored count as hostile kills?
Yep, for a playthrough with no kills you have to always dispose of the main targets with the second, morally questionable, option.

Wow that is a big update, pretty unexpected to see them still putting this much work into this. I'll got it installed but still have a bunch more of my backlog to work through before I get to it.

Hmm, you maybe would have to check some wiki on that, as main targets may differs when talking about the honor system. Not even sure every main targets are treated the same.

In Death of the Outsider there's no high or low chaos and no achievements for a clean hands run. Pretty freeing! Though I'm still doing a no kill run for the most part. I only take out the targets specified in contracts.

Yep, I loved not having to deal with the chaos mechanic. If they ever make a Dishonored 3, I hope they'll keep that part and the contracts idea from DotO :cat-pizza-blob:

Great news. :)

I actually rather enjoyed one of the developer's previous platformers (Oozi: Earth Adventure), which I either got in a bundle, or for next to nothing on a sale.
I didn't have much expectations, and was in the mood for a 2D platformer, and I enjoyed it enough to finish it (which is more than I can say for most games in the genre).

I bought this game on a previous sale, so I look forward to play it, when v1.0 launches. :thumbsupblob:

I have like 30 cards taking up space in my inventory that are no longer marketable, from stuff like Transformers, Reservoir Dogs and even a foil.
