i think everyone does .... and i also think they won't tell anyone (unless they sell incredibly well)

Regarding the "unbiased" Epic game store coverage: on one hand I'm not entirely blaming them since getting clicks and engagements is hard these days with plenty of audience keeping their Adblockers up the entire time, but on the other hand, I really dislike that most of these articles has seems to drop all pretenses of journalistic integrity. The Ben Kuchera's article in Polygon is one of the most glaring example.

I have to agree. Kuchera's article in particular really feels like it should have a disclaimer that states "this advertorial is provided by Epic". I'm not saying that it was in fact a promotion by Epic but it is so ridiculously biased that it kind of reads like one.

Artifact is discounted (if you own other Valve games) two weeks after release. I am not too surprised.

I'm not picking it up (I read from Swim and other streamers, and I believe, that it would be F2P in the near future). Maybe some of you would bite at that price.

Regarding that Valve Complete Pack, it shows as me owning all games, except Dota 2, and Artifact.
I never played Dota 2, and only launched the game once, to see if I had items to sell.

So, on the Dota 2 page it shows as the game being owned (because it was previously installed), but it doesn't show up either on my library, nor on my licenses page (not even as complimentary).

Does anyone know: if I purchase that Pack, does it add library entries for Dota 2 and Artifact, or just Artifact?
I'm not particularly interested in playing any of the two, but for €8, if it adds both to the library, I may buy it to complete my Valve "collection" (hopefully granting me similar discounts on future Valve games, in a similar "complete the bundle" purchase), and to sell cards on Artifact.

You own more than 2000 games on Steam and you are still missing 4 Valve games. :p
What do I need 4 more volvo games for? I don't care for their multiplayer-centric shooters and I'm fine with the single player FPS games I already own from them among others.

In theory, the Pack should have a 92% discount in two weeks during Winter sales. So, better wait?

I was considering buying it now, because I was "fearing" that, because of the card economy, they remove Artifact from that bundle.

But, since like I mentioned I'm really not particularly interested in the game, you're right, I guess it's better to wait and see if it will be further discounted.

Well , you were wrong! they didn't remove Artifact form the bundle, they removed the bundle itself!

After railing against loot boxes and the like for years, I've come to agree that card packs are no better, despite growing up with Magic being one of my favorite things of all time. I'll pick up Artifact if they ever adopt the LCG style, I think if loot boxes get more and more scrutiny, they could likely bring down card packs with them and LCG seems like one of the best alternatives. The physical ones have been popular, at least.

Agreed, After tasting the LCG model everything feels like a scam, I mean some LCG starter sets ARE a scam but in general the model is so much better.

Even the buy a starter deck 3 times of Yugioh I find bearable, Valve could still do the market with chace variants or animated cards but no they got greedy and didn't thought of consult board gamers.

I expected as much, considering early buyers of Artifact would surely get upset, not to mention it would impact the prices of cards negatively.
If only I was as lucky with lottery numbers. :p

Oh well, not a big loss.
I own all of Valve's other games, and I'm pretty much a single-player gamer only nowadays, so it wasn't something I was eager to play.

More funds left for GRIS and Below. ;)

The problem with digital CCGs is that they’re adopting a format that works better in a physical form.

Physical CCGs are still bad, don’t get me wrong, and they’re absolutely designed (like loot boxes) to impoverish and addict you. But the physical nature means you can circumvent the pitfalls that come with the format at least a little. In a physical CCG, you do actually own items of value that can be put onto any second hand market, and from which the original creator won’t accrue extra value. Whereas my digital cards only have as much value as their developers give them, and are basically always sold in markets that the developers profit off of again.

Even more important, in a physical CCG, I’m not limited to what I actually own. Digital CCGs are by design always pay-to-win because you only can “use” what you literally own. Whereas in a physical CCG, you can simply use proxy cards. Maybe you’d rather your matches with friends be contests of money, but if you want a level playing field, it’s not like Wizards/Hasbaro can stop you from writing “Underground Sea” on top of an Ocean card in Sharpie.

Pre-ordered Standard Edition of Sigil, couldnt miss out on that box art
I did the same. ;)

I like Romero's work, so I was almost certainly going to order a box to support his efforts anyway, but that box art, plus the sweet soundtrack (and extras) sealed the deal.

Thanks for the giveaways (I didn't take any keys) but next time you might want to make it where people have to like the post to see the keys, or just any old random lurker without an account can snag em.

One way Steam could improve and make my life easier would be to show a little pop-up box when I hover over a title in the Activity feed. Let me see the artwork banner, and the info box. Like when you hover over a friend it pops up their avatar, badge, level, and game if they are playing.

As it is now, there are friends on my list who add like 20+ games a day to their wishlist and I have to click every single one and manually check what they are before deciding if "hey that looks cool, I think I'll add it myself."

First world problems and all I know, but very time consuming sometimes.

I believe the bundle should be back in the foreseeable future. There is no way Valve deletes the Valve Complete Pack from existence, right?

The issue was that some people could exploit the offer to get 10 packs for 8€ over and over again. If they can fix this exploit, it should be fine.

Edit:
Okay, I spoke too fast. The exploit was fixed, and the bundle is back without Artifact. I am disappointed. :D

OK new plan, try to finish up FC3 Blood Dragon then play Sunset Overdrive. Spiderman's visual brilliance got me in the mood for crazy ass visuals and colours.

EDIT: BTW I've got like 600 gems, what's a booster pack I can create to sell for some good income?

Blood Dragon is pretty short and great, I love SO. It's a lot of fun... can't wait to play it on PC... when I get it.

Hey, that's a great suggestion! Never knew I wanted this until you mentioned it, haha.

Yep, it doesn't overstay its welcome, and the soundtrack is awesome.
