The Witcher is now on Netflix and the Entertainment Weekly review is stupid as hell. Reviewer gave it a 0, but only watched episode 1, 2 and skipped to 5.

I'm just annoyed that every review is "WUT ABOUT GOT!!??!!" and "WUT ABOUT LOTR"

Let it breathe on its own. I may not like it but you know, did every reviewer in 1977 review Starwars by saying "WUT ABOUT STAR TREK"?

I don't know what is happening but it sucks trying to use steam economy something addon when steam is getting access denied.. what can I do?

Almost finished with Witcher ep 1.

I like it a lot. 8/10 so far from me.
i was gonna try and knock the first ep out before work this morning but didnt have an hour and hate stopping in the middle of things so ill plan on getting the first couple done tonight

I'm loving these Holiday sales.

A couple of hours before the Steam sale started, I redeemed a couple of Steam wallet cards.
As a result of Valve's changes, where purchases done with wallet funds don't earn you tokens, and redeeming wallet cards do give tokens, but only for those redeemed after the sale started, I missed out already on enough tokens for 2 discount vouchers.

As a result, I'm yet to buy anything on the Steam sale.
So, I checked Gamersgate. There's a game there that I wanted, and that was slightly cheaper than Steam, so I purchased it. And I redeemed a few of their "blue coins" on a €1 game.
Guess what: both orders (yes, even the €1 order that was paid with their blue coins, and not using a credit card) are pending validation for a few hours, so I'm still waiting for the games (despite having paid already). How awesome!

Talk about crappy luck.

I still won't get a thing on their store, but the whole wallet/tokens debacle really makes the EGS look like it's run by competent people this time around.

it's not

I think you can only get one anyway.
You're right.
Well, that is even more insanely stupid.

Talk about a huge step backwards.
Considering their current € to tokens ratio, if they had unlimited discount vouchers it would amount to about a 10% discount for each 45,45€ spent.

Instead, they go for temporary stickers and profile decorations (that will be gone in a couple of months), and continue to offer prices that are usually more expensive than other stores.

These Steam big sales keep getting more and more pointless.
Outside of getting a few games and DLCs that aren't sold elsewhere, there are plenty of places offering better prices, with Steam keys.

I need to join a "group chat" on steam... can I do that without randomly adding 2 people on my friends list to chat at once?

Its really messed up how badly people got punished for buying RDR2 on steam day 1 back on the 5th. Waiting 1 week would have been 12$ cheaper. Waiting 2 weeks would have been 12$ cheaper and you would have gotten tokens netting you another 5$.

Oh well learned my lesson to never buying a full priced game again in December (or anywhere within a month of summer sale) because that is some bs and Valve should really implement some partial refund system so other devs/pubs don't pull that shit. Also how come they didn't give people any retroactive awards this time? They could have excluded index sales if it was that big of a deal.

I bought Spyro full priced and it was in a humble bundle 2 weeks later (1 month after release)

What is causing the input delay? I suppose it's the monitor/Tv config but I am just curious if there is anything else to consider...
In addition to your screen, your sound card (if it buffers too much data), controller (mainly if wireless), and headphones (if wireless) can all cause a noticeable discrepancy between what you see, hear, and input.

Hey lashman, did you try A Place For The Unwilling? Is it good? I've been waiting for it to go on sale since launch but now I'm not too sure, with only a 30% discount.

Humble Original games that were featured in Humble Monthly and got steam keys added later are now removed. Everyone who haven't redeemed a key won't have steam keys anymore.

Hello there,

I sincerely apologize for any frustration that the wait of receiving your key may have caused. While I am happy to have some new information on the situation, I'm afraid that it won't be what we were hoping.

First, I'd like to recap the situation. The game you are writing in about was a Humble Original, offered in one of the month's in our Humble Monthly. The game was provided only as a DRM-free build on the download page for that month and is still available there today. A few months after that Month's content was revealed, the developer released their Humble Original on Steam. After some internal discussion, we thought it would be a nice bonus for subscribers to also get one of these Steam keys, which we quickly implemented.

We unfortunately underestimated the popularity of these keys and quickly ran out. We have been working for the past weeks to try and secure more keys for those who were unable to get one, but we have been unable to do so. At this point in time, we are sorry to say that we will not be able to provide a Steam key for these games. I know that this is not at all what we wanted to happen and I am very sorry for this outcome.

Again, the game is still available via DRM-free download in your library and all of the content that you've paid for is still available. These keys were meant to be a free bonus, which we have not been able to completely fill. We are truly sorry for the frustration and inconvenience that this has caused. If there are any other questions or concerns, please let me know. Otherwise I hope you have a happy holiday season!

While it was great to add steam keys for Originals, it was not great that they never sent notice that they added them. So I never knew. Also, why didn't they request enough keys for all who got each Monthly bundle?

Finished HL2 Episode 1 and am onto Episode 2. Im carrying the gnome.

I forgot how bloody frustrating lugging it around was but also how attached to it you become. If i lose track of it during a fire fight i get in a panic and if it pings off after i accidentally blast it with my gravity gun i feel genuine loss.

y'all need some Knuckle Cracker games in your lives.

Creeper World is a RTS in which you fight blue goo (its behavior is based on heat flow dynamics... if I'm not mistaken the dev is an actual physicist...).
You beat each level by building a network of structures that produce energy and then move your weapons around to close off creeper spawn points (it's basically attrition warfare involving crowd control).

It has absolutely nothing to do with a clicker game, but oddly enough it feels exactly like one (at least to me).

I can't wait for Creeper World 4 (which is actually going to be in 3D).

Controller and headphones are wired so it shouldn't give me added delay in case I pick it up, I suppose...

Deques It's not the first time I say this today, but what an incredibly crappy move.

They don't give out any warning when keys are added (fortunately, a few fellow forum members gave the occasional heads-up about some keys being available, otherwise I would miss all of them), and now they won't honour keys for the rest of their customers who purchased the bundle?
Just awesome.

So, it seems I'm out of luck regarding Ethereal.

Speaking of heads-up, I have found many Steam keys on Indie Gala, which I could redeem. I think they were added afterwards to really old bundles.
It is possible that I decided not to redeem them back then, I am not sure about that.

Groupees also added Steam keys for old bundles a while ago, but you get a notification once you are logged on their website.

As for Indie Royale, I think I missed a few Steam keys before the website disappeared.

The new quest is up.

It is also mentioned that you can earn 2000 tokens with quests, which is weird because there should be 18 19 quests with 100 xp each.
Maybe one day, there will a quest worth more tokens. Edit: 19 quests if there is one on the first of January.

I have just realized that there is a badge to purchase with tokens. It is nice that the levels are capped to 15.

So there are 3 badges:
  • one with tokens (above), which grants 250 xp for 1000 tokens,

  • one with trading cards, which grants 100 xp for a complete set of 8 cards, received after voting 8 times and exploring the discovery queue daily,

  • one by completing all of the quests (6 on the first day, 1 on each of the 12 13 subsequent days).

I just had an amazing idea, someone should mod in baby yoda in place of the gnome. The percentage of people who get that achievement would skyrocket lol.

Humble seems to get crappier by the day. So happy I never ended up paying for Monthly.

Im about to buy DJMAX. I love rhythm games, so I know I will like it, but the price hurts and if I wait till the discount is over, the price will be even more. Rhythm games are one of my favorite addictive "underdog" genres.

As usual, I end up buying not the games I planned to, but some other stuff that caught my eye during the sale.
I struggle to pay 20-30€ for a "big game" I want, but I'll easily drop that same amount on a few indie titles. :giggle:

Here are some of the games I purchased, hopefully someone may want to check them out as a result:

Plus a cheap double-pack of:

And the following game, which isn't discounted (it hasn't been in well over a year), but it was one I was looking to buy for some time now:

Yeah, thinking about the whole lack of regional pricing makes me think about how one of my friends, who's PR for PM Studios (Musynx, Cytus Alpha, Deemo, etc) actually lives in South America, and he'd absolutely be getting screwed over if he wanted to buy the game on PC. He's a huge, huge fan of rhythm games (obviously), so it sucks to think about.
